Combined in different ways - mail from the column, manually indicated. The date format is correct. What other nuances can there be? Please advise me to read something on this topic?

    Great tutorial, thanks. What I don't understand: How does a data entry get a unique ID when entered into the table and not into the app? I have existing data in a table which I want to convert to a app with appsheet, all these data is of course not displayed in the app when selecting ID column as a key (initially I did not have the ID column and appsheet used the rownumber). Do I have to fill in that column with an ID manually also when doing new entries via table?

    • @blessedkanu16
      @blessedkanu16 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I think the Appsheet detects the header name "ID" and automatically sets the cells under the header ID with the =UNIQUEID() formula, same way it recognizes cells under "Due Date" headers as dates. You can put in random ids into your sheet, when users fill in data in the App, Appsheet automatically creates an ID too(I put in random letters and numbers as my ID in the sheet, then when I put in data in the app as a user, I found out Appsheet generated IDs for my new entries,no errors occurred)

    Hi! Very good day. Now I can build simple apps using appsheet following your youtube tutorials. These are very helpful. I am a University Lecturer. I have a lot of students. So how can my students use my developed app without logging in AppSheet. Is there any way, as the other apps we dont need to login to the database. I am urgently in need of this answer. I tried the ways, all of them require log in to the Appsheet. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

    • @AppSheetTraining
      @AppSheetTraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could deploy the app as a Public app. That would allow anyone to use the app.
      If you need to restrict a users view to only showing their data, you have to require a login.

    • @AppSheetTraining

      As long as you enter in data accepted by the data type and are willing to add primary and foreign keys to maintain the references. This isn't what we recommend because its too easy to make mistakes.
      But ultimately AppSheet should make the User Experience of editing inside a sheet obsolete.
