Loved your reflections on the scale, and how surreal it all is. Funny thing to say, but sometimes, I find (for example) a huge oak tree in front of me more beautiful somehow... and it must be because vistas such as these are difficult for the mind to 'place', etc. At any rate, we've been, and it is a stunning place!

I made several road trips around the Southwest 20+ years ago, so your vid brought back some lovely memories. There were so many friendly people you would run into at gas stations and diners, and once you got used to the heat, you couldn't help falling in love with the desert. It is impossible to get your head around the scale of the Grand Canyon. It is just mind-blowing. I remember phoning my mum and her asking 'is it a bit like Cheddar Gorge?'. On September 10, 2001, we had been exploring the south rim and headed down to Flagstaff for the evening. When we woke up the next morning, the world was a very different place.
That's awesome, I'm glad it did It is SO hot in the desert!! It's starting to cool down now. I think we all remember that day, I was at home watching it on the TV
Hi Matt, this video was just absolutely amazing 😮I always watch your videos on the tv with a soundbar, so as I can see it in the best possible quality, sound, and vision. Could you tell me how you got in with insurance for your truck/health and travel visas for your trip from the UK? Thanks again, keep traveling, keep loving life. One life🖐️🙂🌎🚐
Hey, Insurance for the US & Canada is the same as the UK you just buy it (very expensive though) I don't have health insurance but that's easy too :-) Travel visa - If you just want upto 3 months you can just come If you want more you have to apply for a 6 month B2 visa which takes a long time plus a trip to the US embassy for interviews
Loved the reaction to seeing the Grand Canyon; apparently, I was the same when I first saw it too! My partner and I went for a scenic flight over the canyon, it was like being a cork in a bottle. So happy when we landed 🤢
Glad to see you enjoying the grand canyon , it is so big , and to see it from the bottom after riding down or hiking there is aw inspiring trip is worth the price and time to do it in . Thanks again for sharing your wonderful journey and travel memories with us all your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) 🌎🍻☕️👍🏼😁.
Beautiful place the Grand Canyon only travelled into the canyon by helicopter. Which road were you on to get to that view…was it mountainous you as we would been travelling in a 38ft RV.
I hope you have a permit to film in the national parks because it is required. I’m not sure I would even leave this video posted where it shows you using the drone. I have heard of other TH-camrs being fined after the fact. But your footage is gorgeous!
Saw you on I-15 near Lehi, Utah. I was in a white/black JK with 500k miles. Your rig is awesome. BS ice cube tale. I use to work Yuma, Arizona saw 120 plus temps.
Beautiful video. Love all your films, but I have to warn you about filming and using a drone in national parks here in the US for commercial use without the proper permits. They are pretty serious about it with some hefty fines and even confiscating your drone if caught in person. I’d hate to see your experience soured by these kind of regulations. However, you should be able to obtain the proper permits at a local ranger station. I know you’re on a tight budget, and it’s sort of inconvenient, but it’s better than adding more unexpected expenses to your trip. Safe travels!
I didn't see any signs saying no drones but now I know I'm going to stop. Like you say it's not worth it. I might look into how much a permit is though so thanks for letting me know that's an option. To be honest I'm not sure I'll be visiting many more anyway. Thanks mate
@@wildsouloverlanding I might suggest removing “Grand Canyon” out of your video title (the thumbnail is probably fine) just to keep the YT police from flagging your video or worst some from the park service finding it.
@@wildsouloverlanding Haha… it does seem like that sometimes doesn’t it? I assure you it has more to do with bureaucracy, politics and money than it does the people.
I was going to say the same, unless they changed the law you are not allowed drones in National Parks. Be careful, it's an expensive fine. Loved the video, you are living the life. Is that a camping site inside the park? Did you have to pay or just wild camped?
I know they all have different rules, I go on If there is no sign I'm all good, there was no signs. Wild Camped, totally free, I think it was like a BLM land deal?
First look at your channel and you're talking about putting icecubes up your butt, this to an idiot might work, but what it actually does is take blood from your inner core and skin to your posterior organs, thus not allowing your body to get rid of the heat it needs to. basically it'll do the exact opposite that you want, although you may feel cooler, it's because you don't have the hotter blood at the surface. The general heat exchange is not equal so you'll end up overheating, you're better off drinking something like tepid water as it will generally cool but not to the degree that your body redirects blood and it'll help you remove some heat via sweating. It's worth considering your topics of conversation and making sure they are suitable topics of conversation. This one probably isn't.
Wow,brilliant video our Matt,amazing place,keep going👍
