In the last game, you could cast lockdown, kill Zur, and kill binding by GfTs then make a token by Elspeth for overlord block. It could give you a chance for a sweeper draw. anyway, thanks for the video! love your thinking and secretly hope for a bo3 transition for you 😅
@@chriscunningham6401 yeah, I think there was probably a line where killing Zur early to prevent the life gain, and then going double snake into double union probably would have just won.
Thanks for brewing the Lunar Convocation/Fumigate deck! Very interesting choices. I tried the talent/lunar combo a few months ago but similarly found it hard to set up. If you're curious some differences in how I built my version more recently: 1. Enduring curiosity instead of talent. Lower ceiling than talent but less mana investment to get the synergy with lunar. 2. Split up,authority, and case of uneaten feast instead of lockdown/union/carrot Cake. Lockdown is definitely best against aggro but I disliked the interaction with lunar. I ran more removal to compensate. 3. No Tenacity/Planeswalkers but more removal instead. Removal is more lifegain focused with a few copies of Eriettes lullaby, sonar strike, and deadly riposte. Lightning helix in the mardu version. Your top end is much more explosive to close the game; mine is more of a grind that tries to win by eventually running opponent out of cards. Fun deck overall but I agree with your conclusion; not as competitive as other control decks. Annex is just a stronger draw engine vs lunar for black/orzhov, at least until we get Ketramose the new dawn in the next set.
That last game was so impressive!! I like statistics… I’ve calculated the odds of no fumigate in top 30 cards to = 4.87%, or about a 1 in 20 chance. Even if it was a loss, it was impressive seeing how well you were able to maximize your odds of victory. To me, the fact that you had a 95.13% chance of winning that game is enough… can you ask for more than that?? 😆
you should have kill Zur, then the enchantments with more spot removal. it was there the whole time, even you put removal on the bottom with scry. You tunnel´d so hard on fumigate that you could not see yourself on the winning position ever. And then you lost to a guy who refused to play spells for 3-4 turns.
It's Orzhov Day at The Slotherhouse! This video was indeed an interesting and educational one. It's nice to see Lunar Convocation utilized without being surrounded by constant bat typal. That last match was beyond unfortunate. The Shuffler, back to her old ways of being the cruelest of mistresses. It's always when you need your sweeper the most, she denies you. Bant Overlords is always rough to beat once it gets going. Listen.... listen.... be proud of yourself for this one. Not everyone can pull a build like this and make it work. Even in your defeat, you still had a fantastic match. Pop off, bro! 🤍🖤🪿🎉
I wish the shuffler wasn't deciding games for us but what can you do, oh well. Great piloting as always.

If nothing else, killing Zur would have prevented so much life-gain and then maybe the snake would have won.

What type of Orzhov shenanigans is the Slothlord up to today? Lets find out

only have time to watch the first match but this deck looks very fun. Love the video and commentary as always.
By not go for the throat you didn’t play to the outs. Still a good game

You had so many outs for the last game and just let them sit in your hand!

Orzhov is just amazing ❤
Wouldn't Skrelv's HIve be a perfect fit for this deck with the life loss?
I'm playing it as a zubats meme deck for around month and a half a have the second best win rate :D

And you skipped the outro 😂🤷♂️
The deck link is broke?
I love this, but I feel like I would make multiple stupid mistakes each game piloting this deck
Orzhov Day !!
