Lyrics:
deep in the city, where no one sleeps at night
witness callous conversation
balanced on a knife
Keep your mouth shut mouth shut mouth shut
For silence they scream
To see the things no man should ever see.
we’re both invited you’ll barely be missed
taking back to the first night chasing lovers first kiss
and you’re thinking of leaving
when im kicking and screaming
silence repeats itself
size 5’s in the air
lights in the rear view
she couldn’t concentrate
but these back seats look much more safe
I hold all of this to you
like your famous last line
we’re slowly drinking
cheap red wine
keep your eyes closed tight
throw it into fifth give me so much more
this is nothing new
came so close to keep thinking
is this nightmare over
feet off the floor
nails through the bed
crying in lay-bys
throw it into fifth and you’ll see that theres
nothing to lose
did it strike a nerve
being “stabbed in the back”
double down for six
even spilt then she throws it back
there’s no chance to say goodbye…
throw it into fifth give me so much more
this is nothing new
came so close to keep thinking
is this nightmare over?
feet off the floor
nails the through the bed
there’s no chance to say goodbye
throw it into fifth and you’ll see that theres nothing to lose.

drop the album...don't be shy
Yeah it's been long enough
Yes, drop the album and eventually tour with Holding Absence and Sleep Token
@@SIRiAlerion or if I die first
@@SIRiAlerion and Loathe and Moodring
@Mcillsonn wristmeetrazor and seeyouspacecowboy
Love this!
Reaction?😏
Yes please will shine a ton of light on these guys
@@kevinandrade4359 yeah, they deserve it. I heard about them from a post from Donovan of Hail The Sun.
@@kevinandrade4359 omg they soooo deserve it
@@omnicide3251 he reacted to them on his Twitch channel, that’s when he made this comment.
This would've shaped peoples lives if it came out 17 years ago.
It did in a band called underoath but this vocalist is doin both vocal jobs
Seeing a lot of new bands making a revival of the 2000's post-hardcore sound but with a modern vibe makes me really happy.
We're witnessing an important event for post-hardcore and i definitely can't wait to see what the 20's has in store for the genre. It's a matter of time til' these bands blow up.
Got any of these new bands to recommend?
If I die first and L'exquisite Douleur are 2 bands you need to check out
@@6brandnew6 L'exquisite Douleur, If I Die First, Seeyouspacecowboy, Wristmeetrazor... eventually more bands with this kind of vibe will start appearing into the post-hardcore/emo/hardcore scene. Things are starting to get really interesting.
@@hxytxwnrx that's cool I found out about both of the bands through Olli, he has shared their music before
@@S0ul_destr0yer01 I've been following If I Die First for almost a year now and these dudes are getting bigger and bigger. They're going to play on Furnace Fest, not every band has the oportunity to play in a festival like this.
I love everything about this band. The songs, the videos, the outfits, the overall aesthetic. Truly amazing stuff.
The 00's vibes are immaculate!
The underoath vibes they have fascinate me, this band understood absolutely everything
and now they’re going on tour with underoath…insane
2:27 that random chug is everything
I know I’m a little late to the party, but this was my top song on Spotify for 2023. I discovered this band about 2 months ago. I listened to this song 93 times between September and November, and the rest of their discography is in my top 100 songs. Safe to say, I’m in love
PROFUNDO EN LA CIUDAD 🗣🗣🗣‼‼‼🔥🔥
Underoath vibes here man!!!
a moment suspended in time comes to mind
heavy ones
Word I see that too. Nonetheless, this is the best new band I've heard in a while
I'm seeing them with underoath in like 3 days 😎
This goes SO hard. This brings me back to like 2006-2009 and it makes my inner emo so fucking happy
Never put two and two together they remind me of dead poetic meets underoath. One of the best bands doing it right now
Really great to see Erik producing this band's new music
Duuuude i needed this in my life. Those early 2000s Finch/The Used vibes that I missed so much. Thank you! Can't wait to see what you guys do next.
Anf underoath
More old underoath than anything
Underoath, they're only chasing safety
@@kingjoseph5901 what this sounds nothing like theyre only chasing safety I think you're thinking of define the great line
@Aaron Michael nah, they're only chasing safety especially the scream style
Need that static dress/ if I die first/ sysc/ wristmeetrazor tour ASAP!
Bro Wristmeetrazor's new aesthetic for their upcoming album compliments Static Dress's so well, 2 of my most favourite bands in the world.
And then throw in Underoath as the headliner playing either They're Only Chasing Safety or Define The Great Line in full
@Mcillsonn I find they're the modern day version of Underoath so it'd only be fitting to have them on the bill
Check out: greyhaven, boundaries, loathe, chamber, loser, behindcoloredglass, and Renounced if you haven't already
@@Lattrodon Every band slaps hard. Only one I don't know is Behindcoloredglass
Seriously. Fucking dead fucking seriously, Rouge Carpet Disaster is one of the best albums I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Usually takes me a few listens before I decide the new song is my favourite - not this time.
Called the number - didn't understand a word hahaha. The lore is so hot.
Here from the Craig Reynolds interview. Killer song, killer band. Definitely natty.
This band rules
Love you guys, reminds me of 2004 and 2006 Underoath ♥️
Love seeing guys like this and seeyouspacecowboy. I rejected the scene I grew up with after finding 90s hardcore and emo bands and entered an obnoxious pretentious phase in my 20s, but now that I’m pushing 30 I’m romanticizing the bands I grew up with again. I miss the days of underoath, Thursday, taking back Sunday, from autumn to ashes, poison the well, he is legend, emery, fuck I could go on and on. It’s cool to see and I hope we see more of it
I've seen them yesterday in Madrid on the bmth concert and they did awesome, I really enjoyed their songs 🤟🏻🥰
From First To Last vibes!
I NEED AN ALBUMMMMMMM
I KNOW RIGHT
and you can tell this song is from at least an EP or something because of the obvious transition at the end.
@@mackalrath Ep's and albums aren't really the best way for bands to release music moving forward. Wouldn't be surprised if SD just keep doing singles indefinitely
@@Laikagraphics Well, me personally, I never bought a single once in my life. But I do buy albums and EPs simply because it feels like a full product. But if SD sticks with singles, then I guess I'll have to change my habits because I do want to support them. I did buy a ticket for their livestream, but I want an album too.
I reckon they'll drop an EP with the singles on that they've already released, it's more beneficial for a band to release all the singles then put it together in an EP, that why it'll get more reach and then once it's collated into an EP they'll be able to release physical copies
I've watched this more than 100x at least over the last 3 days lmao this band.... Has my soul
As always a fire release from the revivors of 2000s music
Drummer is legit sick.
Absolute Animal
Great Song! 2:10 Olli Appleyard kinda looks like CIllian Murphy XD
Cool 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
this goes unbelievably HARD af
called the number, no clue wtf is happening but this lore shit is so cool lmao
Do you know what the numbers above the phone number are?
@@SIRiAlerion I have no clue, there was morse code in the background of the phonecall, and something about 5 numbers? I couldn't barely understand what was being said
@@SIRiAlerion yeah i honestly don’t know either i’ve been trying to figure that out myself haha
@@SIRiAlerion The top numbers are just a UK phone number. Probably the same thing playing on both numbers thoughI'm guessing
Ok this is new. 2000s sound. ( underoath, the story so far, )
Underoath's 3rd album and MCR's 1st album had a baby and Static Dress came by and punted it into the ocean for lookin at em crossways. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
.......................woah 👁👄👁
Huge define the great Line vibes. Sprinkle in a little from autumn to ashes and taking back Sunday
massive underoath vibes, i fucking love it.
@Nate W more underoath's 4rd album
words cannot describe how much I love this band x
obsessed with this band
This just popped up in my recommended. I can’t thank you guys enough for making this. You are truly reviving the early 2000s style that I grew up with. (Underoath etc) Seriously, I cannot state enough how good this is. It’s perfect. Not overdone. It just hits very well.
Congrats on the 100k my boys!
Well done. .
gonna see static dress and loathe next week!!!! so damn excited🤍🖤♥️
Godddddd I’m so in love with everything they do. They give me a nostalgic feeling I can’t explain even tho it’s from now. I don’t have words to describe how much I love this. This chorus especially has me HOOKED!!
Love your music, you guys get down
it took 3 years for this to find me on my recommended. holy fuck am i glad. i missed this fuckin genre so much in this style. its hard to replicate nowadays but this perfectly captures it
Can’t wait too see them this October 5th at Aftershock 2023 fucking exciting
These gents are quite imaginative for how simplistic the video logistics are
so sick
The drums are so sick !!!! Those hi hats at the beginning, killers !!!!
SD is this best band in the world rn
Haven't been this blown away by a new band since Spiritbox. I need more!
I really love this! Especially that super natural drum sound
Good point, doesn’t sound like that programmed trigger sound
Nothing wrong with programmed drums, it’s just a nice return to form
@@ItsWithakayLee there's a lot wrong with programmed drums
00s vibes, but with magnificent upgrades on the production...the grittiness and organic tones are there, but it's like they slurped the super juice. tight + powerful + polished but not overly-produced or overly-edited like how the genre started veering later in the decade (Joey Sturgis vs Norma Jean style stuff)
that whole breakdown is so good 0:45
This is beatiful, you have new fan
Each release gets better and better man
These guys must be huge Alexisonfire fans
Nice it has that paramore vibe.
Fantastic!
I have been listening to you guys so much, hoping that i would hear something more and here we are
You guys never disappoint and this is one of your best for sure!
In a good way, it’s gotten to the point where even just the song being called “sweet” is something I expect as an on brand thing for these guys. The song is a banger and on point af of course as well
Saw y'all last night. Y'all where amazing
as you guys release each song, they are getting better and better. i cannot wait for whatever full length release you guys have coming up. so fucking good, omgg
I have listen the album 5 times in a row at the release, amazing band
Giving revenge MCR and I love it
I think this is my new favorite band haven't heard any music like this since the old emo days lol
Awesome song and my new favorite band 🤘🤘🤘
This is so amazing! You guys have such a great sound, love it!
amazing
All of these music videos are very well done. Definitely get Zak Pinchin vibes from them.
We need a full album fellas I need to buy this amazing work of art
Static dress is by far my favorite post-hardcore band up-to-date. You'd think their music is from 2007-nope! They stand out the must from most new bands attempting to master that 2007 vibe we all love
Good god this band is amazing. Just discovered them today and Im blown away!! :)
This vocal lines is super catchy
Thank you so much for this. Something in music to look forward to again :)
I found a new favorite band🖤 I love the emo vibe. Reminds me of old Underoath.
The crazy thing is as a 33 yo I could go back in time and show this to my 16 yo self and he would upload it to his mp3 player along Underoath, Drop dead, gorgeous and Silverstein.
This shit would be on the charts in the the late 90s early 2000s
ong !!!!!!!!!
at first I couldn't tell if the bands songs were complete garbage or really good yet I can't stop listening to it
now I go between the two mostly think its really good right now
This band needs to blow up already!
You guys have became one of my favorite bands fast!!! Hope to play a show or tour with you guys one day🖤
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
emo is back 🤘🖤🔥
So good 😍😍😍😍 Album, please.
old school underoath vibes
I hope there are chill ones too in the full album
I remember hearing this on the livestream show in January. The love I have for this band is unreal..... EP/album soon PLEASE
Vocals in this one giving me OG letlive. vibes which is a very welcome throwback :')
TH-cam has been recommending this HARD all day... Glad I finally clicked!
Amazing

You guys are SO GOOD! I’m hoping you get the recognition you deserve soon 😇😇
This band and kaonashi are my favorite new bands out right now
ok this is literally my favorite band rn
you guys are just fucking amazing i can't stand it
Badass
Much love from New York!! Can’t wait to see you guys across the pond
God tier
Hoooooly moooly - unreal
This band is an authentic clone of the 00's era of screamo, emo, post-hardcore, and metalcore.
