    What about the most at-risk groups that are on food stamps does your delivery at cover that?

    I am disabled elderly. In the morning hours I have always battled with a lot of pain. I cannot get out of bed at 6am, or even 7 or 8am to start getting myself ready to go shopping. WHY do disabled seniors have to get up at 6am to shop?? Why do not you, and other grocery stores, have an afternoon hour for seniors, such as myself, and the disabled, such as myself?? I end up having to go shopping at 1 or 2pm with my pregnant daughter. And before you reply: “just have your items delivered”, I have done that a few times but my pregnant daughter (and occasionally myself) want to be able to physically SEE the item we are buying.
    I don’t know how long (or how many times in our futures) this isolationism will be necessary, but it would be incredibly polite if Somebody thought of the disabled and the elderly that Cannot go out at the break of dawn (at least half the seniors that I know).

      I agree. I am a senior and in severe pain also. I do not ever start getting up until around 10, if I'm lucky and slept some. There is NO WAY I could ever get around that early. Please come around to the seniors and disabled way of thinking... Thanks

      I am a senior too. I believe allowing us to shop first is because we are most at risk. Being the first in the store after a deep clean keeps us safe, PLUS the stores have been restocked so we are the first to choose from what is available. I also relate to the early morning pain (which can also last throughout the day). If you can, perhaps you can place an order online and drive to have them place it in the trunk. I haven't done this, but it may be worth a try. You probably can also go at a time that would be more convenient for you. Finally, it may be worth seeing what that cost would be to have it delivered. The one thing I did read about on line was that placing your order doesn't always reflect that will get everything you want. At any rate, it may be worth to give it a try at least once. :)

      They now know that if someone who is infected with the virus sneezes the virus will stay alive for 3 hours in the air. Coming into the store first, before more shoppers, may very well be life-saving. I am so thankful for the stores that have instituted the Seniors first.

    Great job! However, I can't stress enough the importance of stocking food shelves Monday after 8pm. Many seniors who do not drive, and are living on very fixed incomes, mostly shopping once a month because of that, do not have the luxury of going back and forth if they can not find food products on the shelves. Cab fees can eat-up the money quick, especially on a very fixed income. Considering the situation we are all in. Stocking food before the store opens at 6am Tuesday for seniors must be priority one. Thank you!

    I was online trying to order groceries, was told they had to take the romaine lettuce out of my cart, but when my grandson called and said he would go to the store for me, he got two bags of the triple romaine hearts for me as well as 2 huge round boxes of oatmeal, so I can make oat flour in the blender, two bunches of bananas, 10 lbs of russet potatoes, 3 lbs of yellow onions, garlic powder and onion powder, which were the last ones on the shelf, 2 boxes of Betty Crocker spice cake mix, 2 Turkey Hill ice cream, 2 Martin's potato bread, 2 pkgs of Nathan's hot dogs, sixpack of LeCroix selzer, and two 32-oz. Greek Gods honey,vanilla yogurt. God bless my grandson. He is my hero. He went from isle to isle while on the phone with me, and asked me what I needed. He is 20 years old and works as an assistant manager at a convenience store, where he pumps gas. He is now on a two-nights per week schedule by himself, and doesn't come in contact with the customers, as they are in their car with the window half shut. Meanwhile, his girlfriend works nights at Dunkin' Donuts window and brings him donuts, which isn't too shabby. We all need donuts in these troubling times.

    thank you VERY much for reducing shopping hours, reducing operating cashier checkouts, and implementing procedures for customers to wait in line outside. The increased security personnel patrolling the store also helps me feel SO much safer. I can't wait to see what new changes are coming next to help make us all even more safe! I would really like to see a requirement for all customers to wear some type of protective gear like masks or gloves or to go through some type of decontamination procedure at the entrance before being allow entry to the store. Anyone who refuses to comply doesn't not need to be shopping there.

    If you do the math of an average 180,000 square feet per store at 5 people per square foot that is still 900 people at a time. That’s not doing a damn thing to limit the number of people in the stores. 180,000 divided by 1000 is 180. 180 times 5 per square foot equals 900.

    another thing Walmart can do to increase customer safety is to immediately shut down the store for the rest of the day any time a customer violates safety procedures. Then post a sign on the door stating that the store was forced to close early for the day due to an unruly customer who violated safety procedures and threatened the health and well being of other customers. This way people will know that customer safety is always a top priority at Walmart.

    I waited in line for 2-1/2 hours. The main item I needed was my favorite Arnold oat nut bread. I also like other varieties, but the oat nut is my favorite. It was only available for in-store purchase. I am housebound and I shop online for delivery. It went well with delivery in February, but that's where it ended. When I tried to order for April, it became a dead end. Just empty promises, no phone contact and unable to find other items .. very limited shopping with no pickup or delivery available. My grandson was going to try but I don't have much hope. I'm sorry for all of the people like me, who can't get their groceries, even though they live near a Walmart. I am only five minutes away by car, but I don't have one. I hate asking a family member to shop for me, that's why I have been ordering online for several years, but now, that's even not to be taken for granted. We may have to make our own bread and grow our own food, even without a yard. We will have to grow microgreens, beans, potatoes, and make pasta from flour and water, also bread from flour, yeast or baking powder and water, or sour cream or yogurt. Hopefully we will be able to find the ingredients for basics, but how do you grow toilet paper?

    • @patsycav
      @patsycav 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patriciabrown1946 Try this ... give specific items you need to your online friends on youtube and get some tips and maybe we can all help each other this way. Watch yt videos about food, how to make bread, pizza crust, nutritious, inexpensive soups and casseroles, with ingredients you may be able to get (eventually) from stores that are smaller than the big chain stores. Most of them will deliver for free if you spend at least $50, and if you are a new customer, you may get a helpful introductory deal, with a discount on your order. Keep trying. As a last resort, if you need a meat order, and if you are willing to overpay, you can order from Omaha steak and they will deliver. They are offering deals right now. Sign up with your email address and get notices from them on constantly changing deals for meat orders. If you are a vegan, you are better off ... but you need to stock up on rice, pasta, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and powdered milk or canned milk. Even canned milk is limited now. I buy it for my coffee, mixed with eqal amount of water and stored in an empty soda bottle. I buy tonic water but no soda, as I avoid sugar. Ginger ale is good though, as it is given to pregnant women and sick people when they have trouble eating solid food. Hope this helps, and don't be afraid to put it out there to others if you need help. United we stand, divided we fall ... that is obviously the agenda that is in full bloom right now, but no matter ... it's not permanent. Prayer changes things, and so does love for one another. So God bless you, Patty Brown, and carry on. Do you have peanut butter and grape jelly or jam? I like celery with peanut butter on it. You can grow microgreens at home with seeds and little containers, with or without soil. Hydroponic is with water and comes with containers and liquid plant food. The soil kits with seeds and containers can be ordered from True Leaf Market.

It would make it an even more safer and healthier environment for the worker's as well as the public and stop the pickup delivery alone be much safer. I know this may not set well with all people that shop even me but I don't have a problem with it . Just think about your parents and Grandparent's. I don’t expect people with healthy, active lives to ever “understand” this, as the only way to “understand” is in being a victim yourself...and that would mean trying to recover (over years) from a serious a serious event (such as getting hit by a truck, such as myself).
