They don't contribute to the composition of the music and lyrics outside of playing what they are hired to play. Solo artists do their own shit, but not necessarily, there are people who AI generate everything or hire composers and songwriters to make your job easier and have your main image out as if you were the one who made those songs.

My mom's a Christian (as am I) but she loves certain types of metal music, including some viking/folk sounding bands and bands like Disturbed, etc. So she was happy to find what you can best describe as a Christian "viking metal band" and played a song for me. I thought it was alright. Definitely better than most average Christian music. 😅 And it seemed legit at first but I ended up realizing part way through that it sounded a bit like AI, and sure enough we check the description and it said made with AI. Tbf, my mom is 62 so she's not very familiar with the sound of AI. It's just so disappointing that everything is turning into AI now and with some songs they don't even specify it in the title. :(

What makes this video so good is how true it is. Since record labels have lost their power in the music industry, bands have had to do all their own promo to stick out in a sea of musical slop; and worst of all, streaming services have managed to funnel all new music through them while the artists get paid the essence of money. The old band formula that flourished under the rule of the record labels no longer works. We must adapt, but don’t lose faith! In the end, we all play music for fun. So let’s keep rocking, Steve!

As a singer, I helped load and unload and load everyone's gear and the PA. I also helped to set up the PA when ours was required for a show. I also set up the merch stand and immediately went to man it after our set. We were a unit.
So I'm guessing the name of this band that just broke up is Marlene's Wardrobe... I'm sure being in a band today presents different challenges than 10 or 20 years ago. I just remember friends changing bands a lot back in the day because they had a hard time getting everyone together to practice or having differing opinions on their sound. Fun video to revisit. 😀

Great video! One of the best in a long time. It hits close to home in the sense of social media, since I'm a one-man band. I like to make more Punk music (I know, not metal, don't hate!), and I'm not the greatest, but I like to think I'm getting better with each song. However, finding an audience is super hard. Actual promotion through various advertisements costs a lot of money and is usually just filled with bots, even from official sources directly on TikTok and TH-cam. I really just want to focus on the music, but without a following, no one will listen. I try to make funny videos every now and again to gain a following, but they usually fall pretty flat. My heart just isn't in it, so I know the quality suffers. I don't have a lot of free time nowadays due to life, so I just want to concentrate on the music, but music just isn't enough anymore..

Hey Stevie I have to say this made me laugh my ass off!!! I just watched it for the second time now. If being in a band is really this bad I can't blame you for not wanting to be in a band. I'd love to see you jam with Jared, Anthony, Austin and Nik though. That would be the 💩!!!! Jared on drums, you on guitar and triangle, Nik and Anthony can fight over who's playing bass and Austin with his growling vocals while you sing clean vocals. Hey I can dream! I want to thank you for doing more music related videos again. I like all your videos but I have to say these are my favorite! Oh and you're right, Motley Crue are so NOT cool but Nickelback rocks!!!
