Lian Li has been doing a lot of good technical and functional designs,
it shows the difference between companies who are lead solely by money people vs people with engineering experience.
Lian Li is definitely a company that listens to what engineers have to say and what people want first, than apply cost calculation and marketing to their designs.
Personally I'm amazed by my Lancool 2 mesh simple ting like glass on hinges and strong magnets, make access to the case, so fast and easy. l never worry about breaking the glass, because in most cases you have to take off panel completely to access innards of the case.

i agree, i also wonder if the metal canal could cause problems by damaging wires through the bare metal surface, i am a mechatronics trainee and we besacially get tought "No edges and especially no metal and metal edges in contact with the wiring, as any sort of vibration could and WILL damage the insulation", so these canals should either not be made of metal or have some inner non metal layer to make sure that the case vibration will not damage any insulation.
I am aware that most cables in PSU's have an extra layer nowadays but safe is safe

The risk of that metal wearing through insulation on power supply cables is extremely minute. A rubber edge certainly wouldn't hurt- but it's also not necessary.
      Braided cables FTW!

@@PlayinWithMahWii I am not talking about machines but normal electro installations, though granted we also talk about 230 Volts in my country so any sort of damage to insulation has a bigger effect than with lower voltage used in PC components, so it matters less, but cases do vibrate enough for this to be an actual problem if someone were to do a real tight bend on an edge. It would be user error but implementing functions that prevent user error is never bad i guess

That cable routing looks pretty neat. I think that the ability to have velcro ties ontop of the metal bars and other cables run through the bars will be good for keeling different cables seperated. I'm interested in this case. If the thermals are good I may pick that up for my next upgrade.

    • @hunterx7052
      @hunterx7052 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I could see the metal bar route being great for dual routing cables for sure. Keep big cables you wont touch very often in the metal bar route (damn chonky 24 pin cables), and leave the velcro route nice and clean for cables that maybe you will be moving more often (3 and 4 pin cables). Maybe everyone won't get use out of it, but I'd love to see it personally.
Having it as dlc would be nice in theory, but I don't think it'd work price-wise or engineering-wise really. The tooling would still have to be there, and adding in those metal bars probably isn't much more expensive if you already have the tooling. Lian Li is free to find a solution that works for everyone though, if even possible.

Feedback for the galahad, I'd try using conventional aio fittings for the first radiator and quick disconnect fittings (connecting the gap between first and second radiator) fitted to predetermined tube lengths for generalized case sizes w/ a refill port/hole on second rad or a refill hole on both with maybe some way to check the liquid fill level. Also using quick disconnect fitting to bridge the gap between rad 1 and rad 2 also allows an opening for the diy masses to have some fun with hard lines I they preferred

Lian Li, in regards to the dual 360 AIO: perhaps you could make a kit that uses tubes with quick connect fittings to attach the second radiator to the first. The tubing could come in different lengths in the kit so that the customer could build a kit with the length of tubing their case needs to attach the two rads together.
Of course, I'm no engineer so this may be totally infeasible. Not sure if quick connect fittings would work or not. Anyway, love the video, GN, and the future product line-up, Lian Li.

Feedback: Really like the adjustable cable routing brackets, having something that looks sturdy but can be moved as needed without a tie down is interesting and like how it can be horizontal or vertical mounted. For the duel radiator AIO the biggest concern is the same that you brought up is how many cases it will fit in. Because it is an AIO I do not know if there would be an easy way to have different tube lengths to help with that because that would just cause issues with cost and selection. The case looks fantastic, really interested in see how it comes together and a full review. Back to you Steve.

Definitely … others make it more difficult to combine their products with other brands. Like NZXT. Bought the new Kraken Elite 360 v2 2024. They now have flat 8-pin fan connector … no option to directly link other fan brands. Especially as its tailored for their single frame 360 mm fan. Lian Li has the flat 7-pin plugs. But even the post controller regular fan plug does not fit any more. Means you need to improvise managing cpu cooling.

My current workstation build wound up being a Corsair-based build, partly because the O11 SKU I wanted was out of stock, and partly because I know I have 100% control over the Corsair under Linux … Wait, LEDs in a workstation? Yes! If one of my fans starts to have unstable tach readings, its LEDs light up a warning. If part of the case starts experiencing a hotspot, LEDs in that region light up a different warning. If I have a long process like compiling a huge codebase, rendering a long sequence, or even just ripping a blu-ray … other LEDs will light up to indicate task complete. And when they're not conveying useful information, they look cool. Since **NO** hardware maker documents their USB device's protocols it's all gotta be reverse engineered.
But I'm definitely interested in Lian-Li's upcoming case designs. Coolers and blinkenlights will depend on how fast they get reverse-engineered or if protocols info actually gets released by someone.

I love Lian Li, I have the 011D in each size. What I would like to see, is a back cover to route the cabling down without having the cable sticking out of the back of the PC. Similar to the NV7. A lot of people, including myself, are putting high end water cooling components in the case, and would like to display their PC in their home. This would let us show it from all angles. Also, if possible, change the compatibility from three 420mm rads to three 480mm’s. I have a 4090 and 13900KS. The extra radiator surface area would help out a lot. A lot of people buying these type of cases are going for the high end components, which unfortunately produce a lot of heat especially in overclocking scenarios. Lian LI! Embrace the 3d Printing Community! Upload some designs like the cable routes and hard mounts to be given to the community. This case is a maker's dream with the right support! I would 100% go this route for my next build if I had the option to design/print extra drive trays, color correct build accessories, and extra flair could easily be added in later. Make contests when this case launches to provide the best accessory they can design and give a free case away to draw up interest. As for that double AIO rad... sell cases with the AIO already attached, I'd consider it. Edit: Asking ChatGPT to elaborate on how 3d Printing could revolutionize this case if you open sourced a few aspects of it:
Incorporating 3D printing into the design of a PC case for the maker community can be a great way to add customization options and make the case more attractive to makers. Here are a few ways that 3D printing could be incorporated into a PC case design:
Customization options: 3D printing can be used to create custom panels, bezels, and other decorative elements for the case, allowing makers to customize the look of their PC to their own personal style.
Cable management: 3D printing can be used to create custom cable routing channels and tie-down points, which can help to keep cables organized and improve the overall appearance of the PC build.
Ease of access: 3D printing can be used to create custom panels or brackets that make it easier to access and work on the components inside the case.
Functionality: 3D printing can be used to create custom brackets or mounting points for additional fans or other components, allowing makers to improve the functionality of their PC build.
Aesthetics: 3D printing can be used to create unique and intricate designs for the case, adding a personal touch and making the case stand out from others on the market.
Overall, incorporating 3D printing into the design of a PC case can help to make it more customizable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing for the maker community.
