but...market makers aren't earning from transaction prices... it's transaction frequency that makes them money...totes different from retail traders

@@mistabozack8258 my understanding is that they are private institutions that are given special market access in return for facilitating order flow for traders & they make money on the spread plus a tiny transaction cost so, in effect, they don't care what the price is (seeing as they're on both sides of the trade) but instead the number of trades they can facilitate, plus the spread
