Thanks for watching the movie in Spanish, the original language. Thanks for appreciating and respect this movie. This is an amazing story of love and resilience and this movie deserves its place in movie history. Peace and love from Ecuador
Hello Emma, greetings from Argentina. Here is the answer to why Gustavo did not want to leave the suitcase behind: remember he had been collecting the belongings of the dead in order to give someting from them to their families. That is why the suitcase is SO important to him. One more thing: there are some cameos of the real survivors: Numa' s home is the real one. The neihbour who greets Numa on the street is one of Numa's nephews. Nando is the man who opens the door at the airport for Nando and his family. Carlitos Paez plays his own father reading the list of survivors. The doctor who carries Roberto through the crowd at the hospital is the real Roberto, who is a doctor himself. And some other cameos too.
Some of the survivors made cameos in the movie. The real Dr. Canessa is the Doctor that recieved the movie "Canessa". The real Carlitos is the man that said the names ol the survivors
44:15 As I progressed, the snow disappeared and the temperatures rose. Therefore the meat rots due to lack of cold and that made him sick and he vomited. In reality, the spoiled meat caused Canessa diarrhea; it was better to say that it was vomiting in the movie and not diarrhea.
He refused to leave the suitcase behind because it contained the personal items of the people that died, and he wanted to ensure the families received those things that belonged to their loved ones.
I believe, by seeing your reaction, that you agree that this is a very emotional film. Now imagine being Uruguayan, hearing the dialogue not just in Spanish but in the Uruguayan accent with it's slang, idioms, mannerisms etc. Personally it brought about every emotion there is. Joy, sadness, anger, horror and all in between. Being Uruguayan myself this film hit me extremely hard.
carlos paez (carlito's dad) never lost faith and spend the whole 72 days looking for his son, the last day he was just going to leave chile when he got the news that the plane was found and give him the list of the survivors without knowing if his son was one of them. Nando in the other hand: "I arrive at the hospital in San Fernando and have to announce to my father and my other sister that my family is dead. I return to Montevideo, my father is seeking peace and comfort with another woman, and I go to live in a rented apartment. The following Christmas, twelve months later, I spend it alone (...) That is, my mountain range did not end in '72. I returned to society to live alone, to make my own food, to work, I could not continue studying. That was also the price of my ticket." (book with the same name as the movie). is truly hearthbreaking thinking that everyone of them had a different story after the mountain
I remember seeing the movie Alive in the 90s that told this story, but this movie, these actors and the storytelling here is far superior and so much more emotional. This was a beautifully made movie and acted flawlessly. I cry every time I watch a reaction to this brilliant movie!
Excellent reaction. It made me laugh a little when you were surprised by the guys' behavior on the plane so seriously. What they show in the movie is little. The truth of what all the survivors tell is that they were having a great time on the plane, the youthful stupidity, they all stood on one side of the plane to see if it would tilt, they threw the rugby ball from one place to another, jokes and jokes. Even Carlitos Paez, the youngest of the group, says to fasten your seat belts so that they can later identify the bodies. I don't know if you were able to see that, which was the only thing they showed of the confusion they had on the plane. When the turbulence started they laughed and said "Ole" like the bullfighters, every time the plane fell into an air hole, "Ole", until the last one that was too strong and their innocence ran out and they panicked. This story has many incredible anecdotes. Hopefully you can see some interviews or documentaries. This movie killed me.
When the helicopters arrived at the Maitenes, Carlitos hugs Nando and they roll around in the grass, Carlitos grabs him by the face and if I'm not mistaken he tells him "You did it son of a bitch" he said it so close that Nando replies "I Are you going to kiss?" Nando spent the entire stay in the mountain range with his mind on walking to Chile, since he did not want to have to feed on his mother and sister. He also had his mind on the suffering of his father who lost two children and his wife.
Some additional information -In the film there are cameos of the true survivors. The real Nando Parrado is the one who opened the door for the young Nando Parrado who was with his mother and sister. Carlitos Paez played his own father, who did not stop looking for them in the 72 days and he was the one who gave the list of survivors for Uruguay from Chile, Roberto Cannesa is the one who takes the young Roberto Cannesa when they are in the hospital -The Strauch cousins confirmed that they separated the bodies of the relatives and these were not touched, nor were those of the last 3 deceased, including Numa, since they had many illnesses, the bodies of Javier's wife, Liliana, and the mother and Nando's sister were not touched either -The survivors did not all leave on the same day, that is why it is said that they were in the Andes for 72 days, the most injured and weakest (although the survivors actually say that they were the fastest to get on the plane) were the ones who left in the planes and remained in the Andes with 3 rescuers, 8 of them until the next day -nando parrado really had a skull fracture which put him in a coma, 3 days later he woke up thanks to the direct contact of his head in the snow helped him, after that he insisted on leaving the Andes, just as the movie shows He makes the 10-day walk with Canessa, but not only that, Nando had to carry Canessa for 8 kilometers, and he constantly looked back while he memorized the path trying not to forget it, the soldiers seeing the path that Nando was showing them They refused to believe that they had walked all that, so he went up with them to the plane, and right where he pointed out the fuselage was, there it was. -Coco Nicolich's mother said and still says "I still feel like a mother, because I know that everyone has a little piece of my son inside" -The mule driver who found them did not help them the same day, but rather returned the next day to throw the stone at them with paper and pencil, and undertook a 10 to 11 hour trip on horseback to be able to take the letter to the military, the survivors helped him tirelessly after that, they even paid for his hip operation and called him dad -currently 14 of the 16 are still alive -Gustavo Zerbino gave everything he collected from the deceased to their retrospective families -Numa's house in the movie is Numa's real house and the boy that Numa greets is actually a relative of the real Numa. -numa played soccer, currently the team he played for is called numa turcatti -Carlitos received two letters from his father when they rescued them, one of them said "guys, here I sent you a helicopter as a Christmas gift" and the drawing was quickly made of a helicopter, Carlos Páez Sr. was a painter and artist
Any type of meat loses many nutritional properties when cooked, and also shrinks in size. So raw and as fast as possible.it was. Their discussions about resorting to this were long and painful. Then because of this16 got out of the mountain in the nick of time. Numa weighed a bare 25 kgs.when he passed because he ate so little 😢
@@BeatlemaccaARthe best term to use should be necrophagia, which means eating flesh in dacay, a corpse or carrion. Antropophagy is a synonym of cannibalism, which is a pretty derogatory term.
47:11 I loved when you said the name "Carlitos" clearly in Spanish. Carlitos is the short form of Carlos and it is common in Uruguay for all Carlos to be called Carlitos.
Gracias por la reacción y apreciación tanto por el proyecto como por la tragedia. Es una historia de la que todos los uruguayos somos conscientes desde que somos pequeños. Saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Several of the survivors have a cameo in the film, 4:15 The scene is not seen but when Nando Parrado is entering the airport with his family the man who opens the door for them is the real Nando Parrado, 47:09 the man who is saying the names of the survivors is the real Carlitos Paez playing his father, 48:45 when Roberto Canessa is entering the hospital behind him is a doctor who is the real Roberto Canessa, and there were more scenes where more survivors came out but sadly those were removed from the film
The film is a cinematic masterpiece, not only because of the aesthetics, art, photography, make-up or script, but because they managed to tell the story as real and truthful as possible, to the point that the survivors actively participated in it and say that when they see it they relive in their minds everything that happened. It is wonderful the way in which Bayona manages to show the harshness of what happened with an artistic touch and a strong emotional charge and for the first time not only highlighting the figure of the survivors as heroes but also those who died and did not make it out of the mountain, which is why Numa's voice as narrator is so important. Each of the actors met the real person they were playing and most of them managed to create a bond with them, moving from interpretation to reality and giving the importance it deserves to what each survivor felt, because as they have already said, each one remembers the mountain in a unique way. THANKS FOR REACTING! It's not getting a lot of attention from reactors :(
Hi Emma! Greetings from Colombia. It's good that you saw the film in its original language, Enzo's (Numa) narration is overwhelming. This is a film that tells not only what happened, but what happened to them. As Nando Parrado said a few days ago "For the first time, the movie Society of the Snow gives voice to those who never came back...My sister's voice... My mom's voice... My friend's voice." This film is based on the book "The Society of the snow" which is based on the testimony of all the survivors 30 years after the tragedy, and was written by a friend of theirs. So, unlike "Alive" which was made based on the testimonies of the survivors but just weeks after what happened (when not even they had processed or understood everything they had experienced and felt), the society of the snow presents a vision not only of the facts, but also of their coexistence as a society in the snow, of their fears, of their internal struggles, of their losses, of their hopes. And no matter how many times you see it, it still gives you goosebumps.
Greetings from Argentina. Hugs and kisses. Gustavo Zerbino is that of the suitcase with the objects of the deceased; and years later he was called (by their relatives) "The guardian of the 29"
What a beautiful reaction! There are lot of books out there written by the survivors that it worths the reading. Every single book delivers a message of love, pure love. There are a couple of conferences where you can see Nando Parrado, his English is pretty good, so you’ll find a few in English. Same goes with Canessa.
The reason the plane crashed in the first place was because the pilot was inexperienced and mistook where they were when he thought they needed to land.
Gustavo Zerbino didn't want to board the helicopter without the suitcase because in that suitcase was a little memento from each of the deceased and he wanted to bring them to their families since they wouldnt be able to recover their bodies 😢
I loved your reaction, sweet Emma.❤ Thanks for your sensibility and compassion! (I wanted to give you hug at many times to make it easier, lol... I guess we all agree it's a magnificently made movie!). 🇺🇾
I've been with this story since 1976 and I have to say a personal thank you for your moving reaction to their story. I wish more reactions were like yours. You were respectful of these guys who endured this. All I can say is, thank you so much for embracing these boys now men. Sending good thoughts your way. Be safe.
This movie ANNIHILATED "Alive" -- which was already an incredible film. But this is a masterpiece. I'm Argentinian and have been moved by this story since I was a child. Their strength, their love, their absolute unwillingness to give up. I am so so happy that Numa was not only mentioned this time but had such an important role. He gave EVERYTHING up there.
The cause of the crash was skimmed over in the flight scene, but it got it mostly right. The weather wasn't nearly good enough to make that flight, and the captain through some kind of misjudgment thought they were significantly farther west than they actually were, causing him to start the descent prematurely. The rugby team put a lot of pressure on the pilots to make the flight that day, and they gave in.
Just fot context. The first mountain Roberto, Nando and tin tin climbed took three days. That mountain is named Seller Mountain. Nando named it after his father. Nando and canessa walked over ten days into the foothills of chile. GPS did there exact same route and it come in at 37.5 miles. And when Roberto was being sick, was because he contracted dysentry
The movie hasn't won an oscar yet because the 2024 oscars are in March, and we're still in february. It is, however, nominated for two oscars right now
Fun fact: most of the survivors appear in cameos. The real Nando Parrado Ramón Sabella and Antonio Tintín Vizintín are all at the airport scene, Roberto Canessa who is a renowned cardiologist appears as a doctor near the end and the real Carlitos impersonates his own father. He is the man who reads out the names of the survivors on the radio just before the helicopters arrive. Carlos senior always believed that his son Carlitos was alive and searched for him tirelessly through the 71 days. Even Coche Inciarte, who died months before the release made a cameo. And one of Numa's nephews plays a small part as a neighbour.
I grew up with this story, very well known in South America. I've seen dozens of reactions to this movie, and most TH-camrs try not to cry for some reason. Thank you for your honest reaction and for expressing your feelings to us. One of the best reactions I've seen so far! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Damn, her level of empathy is quite something. Btw, I noticed you pronounced some words like "world" or "here" with a british accent. As an argentinian it was so bizarre watching her hearing some slang expressions and words 🤣
I just finished watching this movie. Wow I’m blown away. I actually never saw the first movie based on this story called Alive. But this was fantastic.
The copilot made a mistake. He thought they we're already in Chile. He turned too early ; thats why they we're so closet to the mountains ; the we're in the middle of the Andes. Also the pilot gave the wrong information to the air control in Chile; thats why the search was almost impossible. Later the chilean army buried the bodies; recovered the camera and burned the plane Its a sad but beautiful story
Hi, Emma..! Very emotive reaction! Find another movie from same director, J.C. Bayona, called "The Impossible". Is another masterpiece based on a real event, the Indian Ocean Tsunami on 2004, that destroyed lot of countries and killed over 220,000 people.. Like "Society of the snow", really worth it.
APPARENTLY COLD UNCOOKED HUMAN FLESH TASTES LIKE PORK BUT WITH A MORE BITTER & STRONGER TASTE & HOT COOKED HUMAN FLESH TASTES LIKE VEAL SO YOU WOULD BE OKAY WITH EATING IT ! ! !👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Emma!❤, I have not seen this version yet but i will soon. I have seen ALIVE -93 , and that version is very good, so i have to compare them later on 👍, Take care ❤
Alive was based on a different book on the same plane crash. This film was based of Society of the Snow by Pablo Vierci (a childhood friend of the survivors).
That was the best representation Movie of the real events, with language and local real actors! Nothing to do with the pumped Hollywood and usual U.S. Yankee version of it… no offense!
nando was so determined to get back home, went through all that and succeeded in doing so only to find that his dad had already moved on, married another woman, and he sold nando's things too
Thank you Emma.. thank You for every tear and understand the real meaning of the movie. Nothing can happen if we don't work together. Your reaction as the one of an egiptian father and son are The best and true that i ve seen. Send You a Big Hug from Uruguay South América 🇺🇾❤

Amazing movie, I had just saw it two days ago and seeing someone react to it is awesome to see.
Hello Emma! This is my favorite movie made about these events. Heartbreaking for sure. Greetings from México!

Esta es la reación más noble y emotiva de todas las que he visto de La socidad de la nieve... saludos desde PERU

Damn, her level of empathy is quite something. Btw, I noticed you pronounced some words like "world" or "here" with a british accent.
As an argentinian it was so bizarre watching her hearing some slang expressions and words 🤣
Que actriz se perdió Hollywood
I just finished watching this movie. Wow I’m blown away. I actually never saw the first movie based on this story called Alive. But this was fantastic.
There are lots of documentaries u can watch that can answer some of your questions.

Muy bueno.saludos desde uruguay
The copilot made a mistake. He thought they we're already in Chile. He turned too early ; thats why they we're so closet to the mountains ; the we're in the middle of the Andes. Also the pilot gave the wrong information to the air control in Chile; thats why the search was almost impossible.
Later the chilean army buried the bodies; recovered the camera and burned the plane
Its a sad but beautiful story
La persona q tomaba fotografías fue la mejor decisión queda de presidencia que fue real y como es una historia veridica 😢
buenísima reacción
Masterpiece ❤❤
Pasar tanto frió para que en Hollywood, no te den un poquito de calor.
I see what you did there, thank you for reuploading with the original language :)
You're welcome!
This is currently my favourite movie, thank you so much for reacting to it in spanish
As you saw, we have our own Adam Driver here in South America.
let's hope there is an extended version, because there are many essential scenes deleted
Emma Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
Glad you liked it!!
Again? I noticed you changed to the original version instead of the dub one
Yes, I did it for you, to get the most of the movie 🎥
thats better.
Hello my friend Emma it's crazy I was only 2 years old when this happened
Hi, Emma..! Very emotive reaction! Find another movie from same director, J.C. Bayona, called "The Impossible". Is another masterpiece based on a real event, the Indian Ocean Tsunami on 2004, that destroyed lot of countries and killed over 220,000 people.. Like "Society of the snow", really worth it.
omg u are amazing
Thank you for reacting to this story ❤️
My pleasure!!
Abrazos 🫂desde Uruguay😊

This one waaaaaay better, like, so freaking better
Alive was based on a different book on the same plane crash. This film was based of Society of the Snow by Pablo Vierci (a childhood friend of the survivors).
Gracias por verla en su idioma original y darte tiempo de leer subtítulos. El original es mucho más intenso.
🙏 thank you for your support!!!!! Have a great day!!!! 😘
That was the best representation Movie of the real events, with language and local real actors! Nothing to do with the pumped Hollywood and usual U.S. Yankee version of it… no offense!
