Coyotes are territorial. She will never be accepted by the coyotes in the area. I lived near an old airport and coyotes moved in. When we moved to the area, a few dens came together to try to take out our intact male Rotti who couldn't care less about them, even when the females were in heat. They were brazen little arses too. 8 foot fence? No problem, they went under it. They absolutely hated my shrill scream at them to "f off" when they were on our side of the fence. Their side, I was fine. They learned our dogs didn't care, so when I took the dogs out, even when they were near the fence on their side, they left us alone. I truly worry about the new builds in the area as the 3 years we were there, they populated like rabbits. One person thought her little dog was stolen... no. Probably Coyotes at it. She didn't like hearing it, but it's true.
Weave has run off with the other coyotes, sometimes for days at a time, and comes back fine. She must have run into a nasty pack or maybe just one nasty coyote
Poor Weave. She'll get better, but I always worry about her out there even though she is probably the most spoiled coyote ever :-) Dinner looks great and certainly loved it! Coyote eating off the fork! With gravy LOL! Duck's face of anticipation is so cute. Such a good boy. I was surprised Howie wasn't in the dinner mix.

Raccoons do not hibernate.When the weather gets frigid, they do enter a a dormacy state called torpor. During this time, raccoons slow their metabolism and, in their dens, fall asleep with their tails wrapped around them for warmth. Unlike hibernation, it only lasts a few weeks.
I love watching Weave & Duck together. When I was a little girl, I used to run trap lines with my daddy & we ended up raising 2 coyote pups Zeus & Athena, cause their mama was really sick & we had to put her down. I miss them soooooooo much.

Then it sounds like she might need some antibiotics for a few days. She’s like “hell no u can’t inspect me daddy!” Duck is so polite & has such good manners!!! Weave says “manners?? What are those??” 🤣 Howie is getting so big!!!!
Our dog's sister lives in Alaska and got into it with a moose. Tore the ligaments in her rear knee. Vet wanted $8500. to do surgery. That's Alaska, but I'll bet it's an expensive fix anywhere.

Duck is so polite! Weave’s table manners remind me of family dinners growing up. We’d get to that last pork chop, or ham slice, or what have you, then someone would make a move and suddenly there would be three forks sticking out of it. 😂

I'm not sure what your vet situation is, but I'd try and find one that does Zoom calls just in case. This way, if she's ever in need of medication of any kind, you can get it, or maybe you can find one that'll let you store emergency meds. Just a thought. Her leg looks like its pretty sore. ❤ 🐾
He can buy fish biotics if he's that worried about it. And you can give homeopathic remedies to animals, no prescription needed. I agree with another commenter, if there is no wound on the leg, she probably hurt herself running or jumping. He can give her bovine tracheal collagen and symphytum officianale if it's a ligament or tendon issue.

Oh no 😮 I wonder if it's something like her being around Duck and you she's adopting a body language different to what a wild Coyote would have? That might have triggered an attack if she approached a wild one too eagerly? Iirc wild Wolves\Coyotes freeze up and tuck their tails down until they figure if they are welcome but dogs do the whole goofy wag tails\sniff butts\bark bark routine.
We never get to see her interact with "stranger" animals so who knows how she is... I've seen some videos of pet Coyotes where they act way more dog-like and excited than Weave does, so even if she acts different than the average coyote she could be passable, one would hope.
She also has a history of being bullied by this pack. Its why she ended up on his property in the first place. There’s a famous story of a wolf in Alaska who did poorly with other wolves and would hang around the dog parks and engage in legitimate play with them. The area knew him pretty well. (Unfortunately he was shot by a local at some point.) Sometimes wild animals are just misfits in their own species.

Duck was stolen by an animal-hoarder, but they caught her and Duck was returned. Duck was in bad shape, malnourished and dirty, but TLC from TMC has him happy and shiny and fat again. :)
I don't have a coyote :), but I often mix in pumpkin puree, sweet potato - As a treat, they love dried sweet potatoes (thinly sliced with a mandolin and dried in oven). Do you ever feed them chicken hearts, liver and such?

I have so much respect for you allowing her to be wild animal that she is. Then I think about how she showed up, being chased by other coyotes. Animals do that when they sense the odd pack member is "not right" and the odd one doesn't have the same survival chances. Again, mad respect for resisting the urge to not want to keep her closer, like, in the house. I admire you. I couldn't do it.
My dogs get stew gravy, homemade bone broth, with their kibble and raw meat chucks. I have to spoon feed my dog if he doesn't eat, otherwise he is PITA(pain in the ass) he is a balck lab and he is 2 years old and still a puppy.

She seems happy but at the same time nervous when she is looking far away, but I notice how she comes back to you for reassurance like making sure she has protection. Super adorable. You are a real Angel for this adorable creatures. I love seeing all of them. But that Coyote she is super cute and naughty as well as the Kitty. I just came across your videos and they bright my days seeing them so happy playing, eating etc. Just love the way you feed them with the fork LOL lol. I would do exactly the same as a Huge animal lover I love seeing how some people treat their pets in such loving and care for them. I hope nothing happen to them if they go far away for adventure. She seems happy but at the same time nervous when she is looking far away, but I notice how she comes back to you for reassurance like making sure she has protection. Super adorable. ( That kitty is something else)

The light that is reflecting in their eyes makes hers be red like the devil. Hahaha all I think of is the song paint the town red 😂😂😂 I wonder if that plays in her head when she is heads out to be a coyote.
