I so enjoy all your videos! They are so inspiring. Your husband does a wonderful job editing them. They are a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
Carol and Hubby, beautiful quote about our quilts…just loved your oak cabinet full of beautiful guilts…I appreciate your terrific sense of humor…loved your stitching and all these plans for retirement…if you find out how to buy those extra years of retirement…please let us know…lol…thank you both for this great podcast, I appreciate all you both do for us…Happy Stitching❤❤
Thank you Carol for another wonderful episode enjoyed here in Canada on a rather gloomy day. As a nurse working with COVID cases every day, your video is a bright light in a time of darkness. Your comment that "the tomb is empty...anything is possible" brought me to tears. That truly is the heart of the Easter message. And yes, stitching and collecting charts and fabric has kept me sane. I am also a quilter and have a project ready to start. Just waiting for the time and head space to haul out my sewing machine and get started. God bless!
Thank you Carol for sharing with us your beautiful stitching and charts yet to be stitched. I love seeing your collection. You make me laugh when you check the time, as for me I’m happy if your video is long! Love and blessings xx
Carol, I just get such a kick out of your humor! I’m a fellow Iowan from Coon Rapids. I was a family and consumer science teacher for 32 years and needed to keep my hands busy during my younger years. A quilter, knitter, cross stitcher are my hobbies. I have so many wips for quilts that it will be close to the finish line if I get them done. Now I’ve restarted xs and love the changes this hobby or passion has created. You are an inspiration both quilting and xs. Fabulous! Keep your humor and keep showing us all the goodies you have. Regards to hubby! Love that he is the keeper of the episode number.
I, too, am soooo glad to see that more designers are either asking for, or including, the DMC floss for their patterns!! I LOVE "Rejoyce evermore" by Brenda Gervais....the lace curtains in the windows really caught my eye!!
Thanks for the two great videos Carol!!! What a treat! Please thank your husband, “ Mr. Salty” 😉😊 for his efforts to get them out to us!! Hope you had a Happy Easter…Lori
Totally enjoyed the quilting video. I too came from quilting women. Have a baby quilt made by my great grandmother. Love to quilt too. Enjoyed all the Spring stitches. Love all the projects and things to start. Nothing is more exciting than more to stitch. Just so you know, April in Missouri remains the same...30s, heavy winds with sleet and snow last Friday. Sunday is was 80 and breezy.
Thank you for sharing your Nest Egg aka stash when you retire 😇. I love those sewing themed charts. I bought one with s Stitching Angel from the long ago LNS and the owner was 81 when she retired and closed shop. She was prolific.
I love your channel Carol! I am one of those stashing patterns away for retirement ... although I do stitch every evening. You are definitely an enabler!!
Your hair dryer on low will loosen the glue. I love love love every video you have a great personality and a sense of humor greatly appreciated in this crazy time. When there is so much drama. And sadness
You put on a fabulous parade & it’s so inspiring! You are right - I want to buy time, too! I keep adding patterns & wondering when I’ll actually get each done! So fun!! Absolutely love seeing your quilts & looking forward to your new tube adventure! Thanks for another great video, & I am crossing fingers for 1 of your rabbits! ❤️
Oh my. I always love seeing your video's. Such treasures you have. Makes me want to get and stitch them all. I'm going to stop having a guilty conchous
Loved this video the same way I love all your videos. Just want to say that I really liked the soft background music. I stitch while I watch you, and the music was calm and lovely.
Oups hit enter before i was through. About buying patterns. I have so many that i'll never get stitch but i just have to have them. Oh well i don't spend my money on anything thing else And i'm still working at 73 yrs old. You have to have some happiest in your life. Cross stitch is mine.
I finally had a opportunity to watch your new video your stitching is beautiful. I agree with wishes of more time. For stitching and more time to stitch all the patterns that I love. Happy Easter
Carol, just want you to know I love your channel, because of YOU. I don’t stitch samplers, usually, but I so enjoy hanging out with you. Thanks for all your ( and hubby) hard work!
So glad to hear the buttercream fabric is working for you! I stitch on her every weekend and it seems to be working for me. Also enjoyed your quilting video. Looking forward to seeing your blue and white quilts.
@@saltboxstitcher Thanks, it was fun to hear my name! Actually last night a friend of mine told me that I had been mentioned so I waited until this morning to watch as I was stitching with my morning coffee! Tells you what kind of social life I have!!
Just getting caught up with flosstube, I really loved your plans for a stitching display. I have so many that I have collected and then that pesky little squirrel comes through and I have to follow him to the next thing that is new and exciting. I need lots more time to do all the things that I love and want to start and finish!! Thank you for the wonderful video and hoping that your Easter was wonderful with your family. Sending hugs to you from Arizona.
Good morning Carol! Love all the 🐰 bunnies you have stitched and are going to stitch! I have a few of them also I’m working on, scattered seeds and Brenda Gervais! I just purchased Jelly Bean Jubilee but it may wait for next year, late to the party on it. I really like it though but I don’t want them tiny so maybe a larger Evenweave? I haven’t seen the spring salt box houses before they are super cute! Adore the stand up behind you💖 your quilt video was amazing thank you and Hubs for all the hard work on it! Blessings always❤️🐣🐰🍀
Hahaha, Carol, I have started Dutch Beauty, I had it kitted for probably 15 years, and Susan Standley and the other ladies in the SAL group shamed me into starting. I started on Easter Sunday. I am using Lakeside Maritime White. It is now my Sunday project, and after 3 Sundays, my progress is about the same as what you are calling *not a start* You are so funny! Also, I stitched Spring Fling by Brenda Gervais, I also did the red wine overdye, it is spectacular. You will LOVE it once you get those threads on there! Happy spring, love ya!
Try using a hair dryer to soften the glue on your Word Play piece. I have done this and it works well. Another wonderful video...thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching!
Thank you for your video. Enjoyed seeing your WIPS and all your Easter/Spring "want to stitch" pieces. Have a nice Easter, take care and happy stitching!
Carol your videos really are just a bright spot in the day for me and I’m prob weird but I always watch them more than once. Your husbands quote is so good and … I loved the music softly in the background!! I thought I was bringing in some radio station at first 😂😂 but I loved it!! Thanks to both of you for all the work it takes to bring these to us. I enjoy your sense of humor and just common sense so much!! So many times you say exactly what I am thinking at the time . Have a glorious Easter with your family. Oh and ps I’m in Iowa and yep we have had snow recently UGH and just tonight there was mention of flurries in the forecast for the coming week…. Sheesh. Springtime in Iowa, just a treat 😂
I love your floss tubes, both the cross stitch and the new quilt one. The music selections are a wonderful addition, especially on Sunday as I do my Sabbath Stitch. So calming and peaceful, Carol. A blessed Easter to you and your family.
Always a pleasure to see you!! I love This is the Day by PSS and cannot wait to stitch it! It was so fun to see your parade of stitching related charts. I am looking forward to watching your quilting video! Thanks so much Carol and happy stitching! (love the quilting quote by your hubby)
Yes, we did go to church today and it was odd how in the church people were sitting wherever....unlike before when every other pew was kept unoccupied. Happy Easter to you and your family and thank you for all that you do. Always love it.
Such a treat to watch two videos in two days from you!🤗 always so good to see your progress, what you are starting new and what is in your queue to start next! So much inspiration and a bit of enabling too, lol! All good of course😉. Thank you for your time, kindness and wonderful sense of humor! We can all use a bright spot in our world these stressful and crazy times. ❤️. Happy Easter to you and your family!🪡🕊🐣🙏🏻
Oh my goodness, that quilt quote at the end of your video from “Saltbox Stitcher’s hubby”…..the best! 🤣🥰❤️. Great stitching video! Now I am off to watch your quilt video. 👍🏼
We are having an Arctic blast, it will happen again in May before June takes us to summer. I swore I could watch without having to go and order a pattern, well, Brenda Gervais "Rejoice Evermore" will be coming to my house. 🤭
Fantastic video! Going to go through my collection of charts and categorize them...your WIPS are inspiring and have amazing stitching.. the quilt saying by Mr. Saltbox is so true & I love your "The Tomb is empty, anything is possible" Thank you so much
I just finished The Rabbit and the Rose. I don’t have any of the Whisper thread, so I did cross stitches and topped them with French knots. Turned out cute.
I forgot to mention on the quilt video about the cute poem from your "Hubby". Well done! And we thank him for all his editing work! Love your stitching. So glad to see even you make finishing choices that you later regret. I never know how to finish & think it won't look good. I just need to jump in and get over my fears. Thsnk you!
I love all of your stitching and quilting. I have been wanting to stitch the charts I have with the sewing and stitch theme for my sewing room. I am like you I need more time. Thank you for sharing your time.
I did the spring saltboxes and I did not do the big white border on the bottom, I just did the 3 line border on it all around. I liked that look. I loved the sea foam and deep fennel colors on that saltbox.
A bunny story. When I lived in CA we had a gray miniature French lop ear bunny, Gracie. So adorable a d a great addition to our menagerie of pets. She was house trained and was good except she ate through lamp cords! After a bit we started finding dead opossums and things, not our cat because most were unrecognizable. So one day (sad circumstances intervened) Gracie went to live with bunny jack on a farm. Months later checked up on her and farmer Doug said she was fine, but she had killed all his guinea pigs! So all that time our Gracie was a killer rabbit! I think one of yours would be safer 🤔😂 love ya!
Another fantastic video!! I love all your projects but the sewing wall idea I love. I love all things with textiles, threads, embroidery etc etc. Have a beautiful and blessed Easter.
I finished The Rabbit and The Rose. I also did Scattered Seeds Catherine Dickenson. Nice stitching pieces. I always call Dyeing to Stitch with my order for linen. They always send my order when they have it. Not much of a wait too. I am working on keeper of the pins too. Yes my husband and I sing in our church's choir. Right after our service we are off to Arizona. I am planning to go to The Attic.
Bless you Carol....another fun episode...thank you for all the inspiration.
