I dont just love watching your videos, I love the fact that you get more out of less than pretty much any other speed runner out there, AND you did it first. Your don't have to build super crazy exotic stuff to get the job done on a narrow, crested, uphill double blind cornered sketchy road with traffic Going at least 40 mph faster than anything should ever go on that road. Even when you wreck a car you take it in stride And that's probably what I love the most. I do hate it when you tear up a car though so I hope you don't mind if I share a little bit of Car setup advice with you since fixing handling issues is something i've always had success with If you hate reading through long winded yammering and butchered $10 phrases just skip to the Last paragraph for the most likely culprit. However... If you're cheap like I am and refuse to Bolt more stuff on to fix a handling issue I hope This helps somebody out someday I'll bet your high speed snap oversteer issue could be fixed by adjusting one of or a combination of 3 chassis settings. From what I saw it could have been 😂a pendulum effect which is steering input magnification that Makes any Steering input at high-speed look like an overcorrection. If the back end has a lot of antiroll stiffness and not a lot of travel The front end has be even stiffer in the Lateral direction to avoid that heavy load transfer across the front end that can potentially pick up the inside rear tire if you don't have a lot of droop in the rear. Second I noticed your steering arms are pointed back quite a bit giving you a ton of Ackerman at barely any Steering angle. That would make it almost impossible to make Small corrections Because the car wants to initiate a turn with even the smallest steering input. weight distribution is least likely to be making the car unstable But Here is an example That made my car undrivable. If there's more than 52% weight on the nose and the Cg height is at the center of the wheel or higher, I've had some very strange things happen. As soon as the car hit a certain speed, around 55-60mph The car would Lose control every time and would either 360 flat spin if I lift, do a perfect 180 and Try to drive the opposite way if I stayed in the throttle or 180 and flip If I braked. All i did was move the weight balance to the rear 4% And add 5° of rear tow-in and the difference was night and day. Of course without knowing where the Cg or role centers are these are all just guesses unfortunately There is Always a good possibility that I'm completely wrong and the entire problem is your front splitter is working too well Which would look just like the issues I described above. One thing I am certain of though, If you add enough rear downforce It will definitely fix The problem.
Thanks brother, most of the weight is on the rear of the car. As that's is where the motor and batteries are located towards the rear. I think it's a downforce issue. I did find the front droop was off a small bit causing the car to pull slightly left. Hopefully fixed if not I'll keep working.
You're right, every run is not a good one, but runs like The first one that don't do any damage or too much damage is a good run.. Congrats on the PB bro!
Are those 1/5th GRPs? If so, it might help to get a little heat on them before you make the pass. Maybe do a quick burnout or just spin the car a couple of times. They take a little longer to stick for some reason...maybe it's the extra rubber. Or you could send them to Gone Bananas and get them foamed up...
Awesome
Thanks
1/5th FG 😮
That will test your courage 🫡looking forward to seeing this progress
Thanks brother

Let's go🎉
Thanks bro.
That went pear shaped quickly
Yes sir. Indeed it did
I had a similar thing going on bud ended up the servo return to 0 was bad one way changed the servo all good again
It made a good run this past weekend, so hoping I figured it out.
That’s a tough car Phil, not a scratch really, I assume it’s made in Germany? ❤😅
Thanks brother yes seems pretty tough.

Yeah I always heat them up good before a run.
Hey Phil....what motor mount are you running?
Tp power 5670 1270kv
I read wrong. Not sure as it came with the car and has no markings.
That was weird brotha. Not sure why it happened. The body is actually not as boxy as I thought.
Yeah idk, hopefully I have it fixed now.
@@philipjolley1015 I really hope so 👍🏿
