- A short roll of expired Agfa Vista 200 in London (film street photography) shot on the Minolta GF. Really enjoyed the colors from this film. Bit of rambling at the end!

You did right by (accidentally) letting the lab develop your roll normally. This way, you were giving the film the extra stop of light expired film needs. If you had had the lab “pull” development, the processing and the extra stop would have cancelled each other out.
Anyway, my $ 0.02. :-)
I typically shoot 36 exposure rolls, but I really enjoy shooting 24 exposure rolls occasionally - seems like less of a slog to get through, both shooting and scanning.

I also remember seeing it in Poundland, but after I bought a few rolls back in the days I remeber the film just breaking off from the canister and needing a changing bag to get the film out, I stopped taking the risk, even at £1 a roll. I hope the same doesn't happen to you.

I've recently shot through a roll of expired agfa vista 200 (video coming soon!) and I was surprised at how lovely it handled.
Loved the tunes with this vid.. made me feel like I was floating through the streets.
I just loved the shots. The colours popped really well, I love the compositions.

I recently bought a box of expired film, there were 2 rolls of moto-foto 200 which was rebranded agfa vista 200. Curious, I ran out and burned through the 24 frames to see how they'd turn out, and to my surprise they were quite impressive. Not knowing the exact date of expiration, I rated the iso at 80. Unfortunately, I have only one roll left of the agfa 200, and it is now causing me acute anxiety, lol. I wanna shoot but don't wanna waste it.
ahhh so much anxiety!! I understand totally tho, save it for a special occasion, Id love to find that film again!

Vista 200 is/was a great film and I think expired Vista needs to be shot at half box speed and developed as normal.
yeah definitely! Or just not shot in low light or shade lol

Interesting - I have a Minolta Hi-Matic S2, that looks a lot like your GF. It was sold as spare parts, and I have never gotten around to testing it - I only cleaned out the crusts of battery acid from the battery compartment and replaced the light seals. Perhaps I should put a roll though it this summer...
I love the Vista colors btw. They seem to still work great in sunny conditions.
Sounds interesting to see if it works! There are quite a few Minolta versions out there. And yes the film definitely loves the sun!

Love your video. I used to get them quite cheap in Australia, especially when they were about to expire (just what I wanted!). I've just sold a few rolls for approx 4.5 pound/roll, since I don't shoot film anymore, hope the buyer is gonna enjoy! Had a great time shooting dozen of them back in the days with my LC-A and pen.

I'd expect you to have disappointment if you tell the lab to pull the film. expired film tends to be happy with a little bit of overexposure that isn't compensated for in development, and I think most of your photos came out exceptionally well the way you shot them! the faded shadows in the dark scenes can be corrected for in camera if you can use exposure compensation or manual adjustment, just give it some more light.
thanks! that's good to know! ah ok, I think I could compensate on another camera, or could switch the "weather" controls on the Minolta GF. Will have to have a play around, thank you!
