Two totally different cities. I have lived in both. Born in DC and raised in and around DC and southern MD. (DC culture has some influence on southern MD). Went to Morgan State in east Baltimore and lived on and around ColdSpring Ln for 6 years. Baltimore is different from DC in almost every way possible. Different culture (music, slang, accent, disposition) and thats black and white folks. Different architecture. Baltimore is full of row houses and DC has a little bit of everything. Baltimore hoods are much more like Philly and NJ hoods. Concrete everywhere and very little trees or grass. DC tends to look more like a southern city hood. Way more grass and trees and not a lot of trash on the street. Shoot we even favor different types of cars outside of chargers, challengers and camaros. In Baltimore they drive a lot of ford/linclon cars. They drive crown vics REAL heavy and they love towncars. They also like to rock old 90s and early 00's buicks. In the immediate DC area you see more verity. You name it and you might see it riding around DC. The only thing we got in common....we both love seafood (crabs) and its a lot of black folks. For real, we even have different crimes. In Baltimore fools get killed mostly over drug beef. In DC most young dudes killed over simple disrespect or neighborhood beef. I don't know why its like that but my 68 year old dad from Anacostia tells me that they (Bmore) always been different. Or to use his words (bammas) lol. Last thing ill tell you, when I got to Morgan in 05 DMV folks was dressing like only we do, rocking Nike boots and listening to stuff out of ATL and other places in the south. Bmore folks was dressing like NY and Philly people, rocking white Airs and Rockport boots everywhere and listening to Freeway and Jay-Z. We just different.
DC criminals are killing over pussy, food stamps and clout. B-More is more about respect in terms of who's putting in more work. I am not saying this cuz it's something to glorify, but at least when I dealt with my B-More family coming from Silver Springs, they were more structured. Now there's no real DC vs B-More beef because the old heads have put their differences to the side for each other, but the youngsters can't get it together.
Richmond hood is like a couple blocks here and there. Really just the public housing complexes. It's not great, but that would be a boring vid compared to Baltimore.

I agree, as far as Baltimore looks rougher because of all the abandon buildings, however, when it comes to killings, DC has more homicides, then Baltimore right now, & Baltimore homicide rate has dropped, so they are doing much better this year compared to last year, DC homicide rate is up almost 40% and is on on pace to its deadly year since the late 90s mind you, this is the first time that DC has surpassed Baltimore in homicide since the early 2000s so DC is not playing around either, which is sad and unfortunate 🤦🏽♂️🙏🏾

Not all parts of Dc is expensive. U can find a apartment with $800 rent in SE Dc. Also most blacks in Dc is from the hood and grew up on section 8….. so a lot of them don’t even have to pay rent or only $100 rent. It’s easy for blacks to get on section 8 and plenty of programs/benefits, especially if u have kids. Even some people on section 8 get put in houses/apartments in the nice areas in Dc. Pg county is a majority black county outside of Dc. Some parts across the steeet from Dc. Half of Pg is the hood the other half is wealthy. Pg is dangerous as well but it’s cleaner than Dc so their hoods doesn’t look hood

Definitely way different… I think the biggest argument to them being totally separate is the Baltimore accent. Really you can have people born and raised in DC/the metro area who don’t say Baltimore right even though they’ve grown up right next to it or pulling for Baltimore pro sports teams their whole lives. Which feels to me like a huge delineation. On a macro scale they fall into the same area but you don’t have to go too deep to see the differences. Outside of transplants DC is much more southern than Baltimore.

PG is a county in Maryland that most people outside the DC area never heard of. I never heard of it till I started doing TH-cam. The main thing on TH-cam is what will get the most views.
