early in the video you were wondering about maxing W or E. a general tip for spell maxing is that it gives diminishing returns for damage, but exponential returns for cooldowns. so if you think two spells are similarly valuable, you should put 3 points into the damage spell and max the utility spell. if we take renekton as example. each point in your W increase its base damage by 30, and it goes from 10 to 130. so your 2nd point in W makes it go from 10 to 30 base damage, an increase of +200%. but your 5th point in W makes it go from 100 to 130, a +30% increase. now if we look at the cooldown of E, it goes from 16s to 10s, losing 1.5s per rank. taking the 2nd point in E makes it go from 16s to 14.5s, reducing the cooldown by ~9.4%. meanwhile taking your 5th point makes it go from 11.5s to 10s, which is now a ~13% cooldown reduction. we could even calculate the gold value of all of those skill ranks since you can equate the lowered cooldown to ability haste, and the increased damage to extra ad in the spell's ratio...
