Nice job on the video.. Appreciate you taking time to make this.. Balancing any motion rig is super important for a responsive rig.. Every time you add a heavy part to the front the Center of balance will change and your rig might feel weird.. Thanks for posting .. DMAX
Great video, what i also found is quite some play where the universial joint bearing cups are mounted in the brackets, quite an easy fix just remove the universal joint and the cups and apply some loctite bearing lock to the outside of the cups and mount them back. (and let it dry of course 🙂) It made a huge difference at my P3! (the best upgrade i've done so far) not sure if it is a problem with all the dof's but i've seen more people having this problem. you can easily check if this is the case if you look close at the universal joint bearing cups when you rotate the platform, you can see it without removing the chair or anything. Keep up the good work! Cheers
Thanks for the video ... balancing is important for sure. I noticed that your wheel mount arms are mounted next to each other at the main beam but they are supposed to be staggered, they then attach to the wheel plate spaced apart, giving the wheel base more support. Check out the instructions again.
Absolutely.....has added so much to the driving experience.......It just blows me away being in VR and having the feel you are driving a real car........Beware its a rabbit hole :-)
There's supposedly some balance tuning software available now to help. I read about it on Facebook before I quit social media. It sure would be great if someone made of video of how to balance using the software because I'm not going back to FB.
I have the software/app. It's so easy to use. The balancing is not so much to balance your seat or rig but actually to balance the motors otherwise your seating position will be in one fixed position where the wheel is either to far or too close. Simply sit in your comfortable sitting/driving position and let the app do the balancing. Adjust your arms and legs or body inward or outward or left or right side until pitch and roll are within 10%. The app will tell you to move forward/backward/left/right until close to 0% is the goal. You will notice the movement smoothes out with less notch, meaning the armatures are moving in synch of each other. Once the motors are balanced, the movement will be smooth and eliminate the notchy movement caused by uneven motor armature movement.
Well just the general position of the universal in relation to the sitting position. But yes testing it by sitting on it with the tierods detached helps. This is stated in the text supplied with the video :-)
@@KamicarzCreations I would love to see if what you did actually balance by testing while sitting on it. I am not sure if mine is balance but when I pitch forward, it always stutter. Everything else seem to move smoothly.
@@reptilexcq2 It does do a shudder every now and then but i think its mostly if i start the unit before the computer. Othrerwise all good. You are best off to test yours when sitting in it as my position may not suit yours :-)
The way you can find the center of balance is by removing the entire top frame (adding all the pedals, wheelbase, seat and yourself) back to the top frame while its on the ground. Then by Using a round bar and rolling the entire top frame until you find the center of balance.. Yeah, it's a feat for sure. but that's how I have been finding the CB for my rigs.. DMAX
Thanks for this video. I've had my H3 for about a year now and didn't kept understand how to achieve the balancing thing. especailly when you remove the 2 front levers off the motors i found it difficult. There's a guy called Fondoo on YT with an impressive setup he's got a FB page with setups and varoius things but i dont do FB so couldn't check it out. So glad to see your video. I just had a look at my seat in relation to the universal joint and it looks a lot like how yours was. So i guess my front motors are also under stress. I took some pics but dont see a way to share them. I will attempt to try the balancing again, maybe will try the software to help, Is this the Sim Racing Studio software you are referring to or is there another specific balancing software. Cheers Mark
Use the software DOF Reailty has produced....i have had no trouble with my rig since seting up the balance with it. Use the support link in the user manual to get to the software download area.....can be a bit hard to fine

Still glad you bought it after 6 months? Not sure if I want to pull the plug. Awesome setup.

The balancing software is great......havent had a beyond limit lock since using the balancing software
Where do i DL the balancing software?
@@davidgarvin1130 the software link is in the PDF installation instruction.

How do you know it's balance without sitting on it and do the test? When you pitch forward, does it vibrate?

I'm wondering if adding weight
balance would have been an fix ie., dumb bells to the adjusted area. of course using a rig to hold the weights.
The new DOF balance app is the goods
