- If you Have ever been to #Newport then you would have passed the #Abandoned building which near the docks. I plucked up the courage and explored the ruin alone and managed to capture some nice content.

Built in the 1890s, Malt House (or The Maltings) was a 3-storey red-brick industrial structure.
On the south side were the two conical caps of malting kilns.
During restoration work in March, 2005, a fire broke out causing significant damage.
The remains of the grade-II listed building can be seen on the approach to the Southern Distributor Road bridge.

The Maltings, this building was being restored to it's former glory in the early to mid 2000's by the former owner of Newport Car Auctions, unfortunately it was set alight and destroyed all the work that had been done. Really enjoying your videos of my hometown 👍

Been in there myself at night with my mates, it was full of bedding and needles but we managed to get right to the top and it was an alright view. Did end up encountering a homeless person but he was very chill and did say to be careful
Just thought i'd add i reckon i weigh roughly the same as you and the floors were strong enough to hold me
@@Urbexcymru maybe it will be worth a visit back there then. I did see like a ladder going up but didn't try and climb it
@@Spudboys theres an abandoned liesure centre out in underwood as well not sure if thats been bored off or not now it was cool as well

Thank you very much Lianne. It was fun making this one, I'm not happy with the overall quality of the vlog though. It looked nice on my phone and my laptop but on TH-cam it seems fuzzy or hazy so my next one I'm going to play around with some settings, maybe move back to 4K. I never expected it to look like that inside. It's all so old how has it not crumbled away. At one point the steel beam wasnt even being held up by anything. I'm glad i finally had a little look

While I admire your balls for exploring these rundown places. I couldn't do it myself, not sure how I'd react if I found somebody living or worse dead in one of these buildings.

Thank you mate. Its scary to venture to these places, especially alone but I think pulling yourself out of the comfort zone is good. I've been vlogging around Cardiff all day, that's harder than any abandoned building haha. Have a great day man

Been wondering about that building for a while especially now as I’ve started work on a final art piece in college all to do with Newport and it’s history. Not sure if I will include this building or not yet, simply due to time deadlines and stuff like that, but if I do put it in my art piece you and your video on it will have been a huge credit to it’s inclusion. :)
P.S. If you’d like to see the art piece it’ll be up on display at the Riverfront on the 15th of June until the 6th of July 🤘🏻 huge 7ft banner displaying a transformation through Newport’s history.
I'd love to see it mate. I'll make sure i head on down and check it out. The building has actually been cleaned up now and it's all fenced off. I tried going back in the night but there was people living in there plus I fell over lol. Thank you mate, I just found an incredible place in Caerleon if you into abandoned places. Thanks for the comment good sir, I've noticed some of the footage is not as high quality as I would want. I wanted to see wank corner in all its high definition goodness. I think its the way I export, I'm going back to 4K see if it makes a differnce . Thanks for the information about tresspassing, It's not that bad if you play nice by the sounds of it.
