Mate, this is one of the best video tutorials I've ever seen. Great work. Only question I have is how long do they run?

The fuel in the Sterno can shown is Butane which has been compressed to a liquid. To properly fill the burner, the filling must be done upside down, so that liquid butane flows into the burner tank. After filling, you should feel liquid sloshing around when shaking the burner, just like in the fuel can when it's full. See the TH-cam video at: th-cam.com/video/fX_n7lPWfB0/w-d-xo.html

Hey! This can is butane 100% ? Or 95% butane and 5% propane? Because in my country I only found 100% for lighters and 95 % butane + 5% propane by Doite.

I just got one of these burners. And the flame goes out after 2 use. How long does it take to fill it to full? I wonder if I filled it wrong. Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. I used a can of compressed butane and attempted to out butane into the burner for around 30 seconds even and my flame won't ignite at all. I need some help to know what I'm doing wrong.

+Talmadge Fisher I even went to check just now and I've been trying to use butane fuel by Coleman and it has the same bottle style and exit port as mine. Doesn't work

@@fishblade2 i had the same issue, so what i did is weigh the burners before and after refilling. weight before refilling: 406g - i found out it was filling for a while, and then it seems to be overflowing (but not quite, because i discovered i was just filling about 2-4g. 410g ). I found out the issue is my canister (i changed -and it suddenly worked) -it is working but. So I still contacted Rekrow support, and found out too that this type of butane canister (the short nozzle and a cutaway/space for firmly attaching camping/portable butane stoves), works but not the one that their products (which include the butane torch/lighters) are designed to work with. It needs to be the one with the long nozzle, the one used most commonly used for butane torches/lighters.

It depends. If you start with hot water from the tap (as I did at first), making one 10 oz "cup" a day, not very long, maybe a couple of weeks. I soon switched to bringing the water to a boil on the stove, transferring the hot water to the bowl of my siphon and finishing using butane. That way is faster and natural gas does most of the work. I just now ran a test and the result was 2 grams of propane. My scale is not very precise, so lets say 2 to 3 grams per 10 oz cup of coffee or 53-80 cups for a 160 gram can of butane (current price $6.28 at the local big box store). So basically it's about 10 cents per cup, not counting the tiny cost of the natural gas or electricity your stove uses. If you make two cups at a time the cost will be a bit less than 10 cents, but I've had enough of math for one day.
