I’ve always been suspicious of the TH-cam guru channels; their audience is people struggling to grow their channels, so it would only make sense that they put out advice that keeps channels stuck.
I agree the thing is you could say this about any YT growth channel. I’ve watched plenty through the years and they all pretty much talk about the same things. The only difference is the person talking about the subject and them putting their own twist on the video. Don’t get me wrong it’s useful info for the person just starting. Like you mentioned the info they provide doesn’t really help someone who has been doing YT for a while. I see new YT growth channels all the time. I feel like most at this point are doing it with click bait titles to get the growth and money they want. I could be wrong just my thoughts. I don’t listen to any of them I just do my own thing and post videos
I came to VidIQ as a beginner and now to see if there is anything to help me with this channel (dragon puppets lol). Nothing was helpful, I now feel like I wasted time trying, the community I am in is clearly trend based. I just go on my own anyways though, the only time I wasted was watching his vids. Also your Fr underrated, I hope you get the attention your channel deserves soon.
During the gold rush of the 19th century, there arose a practice that came to be known as "mining the miners". The gold miners went out and worked themselves to death panning and digging for gold. Then they would come back to the towns and the bars and the brothels would take all the gold the miners were able to dig out of earth. The bar owners didn't have to sweat or break their backs mining for gold, but they made a fortune off the miners themselves.
The only one good advice they gave so far was to start and you will learn TH-cam alone the way honestly without education or anything just open channels and experiment everything yourself give yourself 3 years of trying hard working on TH-cam and you will get it alone without anyone's help or guidance
before watching: I learned some from vid IQ but they don't have much to offer especially compared to things like mrbeast interviews. I think this is the same for all youtube advice channels its very repetitive.
I've had the same issue with VidIQ and another channel called Think Media. Both channels give good advice if you're completely new to making TH-cam videos. However as mentioned in the video, once you go from beginner to intermediate, that's where both channels become a "If you want better advice, you gotta pay for it." That's why I find it's kinda rare to find actually helpful videos on what to do to make videos that not only TH-camrs are passionate about making, but understanding the topics/videos that people would want to watch.
They've got 1.6k videos but you can get most of the useful info you need from just a handful. There are only so many "basics" you can teach, so to keep producing videos you need to repeat and repackage, with titles like "The NEW Way to Grow on TH-cam in 2024 (Algorithm Changes)". I see a lot of channels do this though, referring to "the 2024 algorithm" as if there are drastic updates every year and they're all documented clearly. The VidIQ app looks like it might be useful, but the TH-cam channel loses its appeal after watching enough of it. Same thing with other areas of TH-cam though. In the fitness space, there's a small amount of basic advice that gets you 80% of the results (eat less, move more, be consistent, follow a routine, etc.) so there's a ton of repetition from people who want to keep making videos but don't have anything new to say. Look at Mario Tomic's channel, it's practically the same video over and over again, like each one is a separate attempt to go viral rather than contributing to the channel as whole. Contrast with Joe Delaney - there's obviously repetition in there as it's hard not to, but he's aware of that and branches out into other areas like self-improvement and the pursuit of happiness.
Yeah, I hate when VidIQ or most TH-cam Education channels try to repackage content to make it seem like its NEW and IMPROVED when all their doing is trying to get some views. Great perspective on the topic though 👍
Im a really new TH-camr and do follow VidIQ and I'll be honest sadly none of the tips or advice there has seemed to help me much, but i just thought maybe im to new with to little subs for anything to really kick in. I guess I'll just continue on my own way and figure it out as i go along 😄 Thanks for the vid, ive given a sub 👍🏽
I’ve unsubscribed from them and think media. From my perspective, their content just isn’t geared to help creators that are trying to grow and build real communities on TH-cam. If you want to grow and want real tangible advice that you can implement and see immediate results, I suggest watching Nate black almost all of his videos are helpful and Roberto Blake when he does his deep dive livestreams on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
icl, i feel like i have to defend VidIQ a lil bit. Sure, their content can get quite repetitive, but a lot of it is very useful, especially for people just starting out. There are much worse channels out there that give much worse advice. Also, I personally feel like making videos at the expense of others is just really scummy.
The truth is most creators will probably fall down this route. There is only so much you can say about a topic but have to keep going. Looking at your other vids. They are all "doom and gloom". You will hit the same wall only talking about someone's failures instead of finding channels that do something you like.
Funny that I literally just blocked them from my feed, then, your video showed up. VidIQ is useless. Completely useless. That’s all I’ll say about that.
Hey bro. Nice content you have there. however, i would like to edit for you. i am a video editor and i believe our collaboration will flourish and we can grow the channel together
that Amoz guy looks pretty cool
frr
The only advice that most TH-camrs need is persistence, adapt, upgrade, evolve. Do what you love. Be passionate. And keep trying ❤
I’ve always been suspicious of the TH-cam guru channels; their audience is people struggling to grow their channels, so it would only make sense that they put out advice that keeps channels stuck.
Exactly, and they need these channels to be stuck in order to profit off of them

at 5:46..bro that hit hard cause I literally have only 5 subscribers and im using VidIq lmaoooooo. You making me rethink my whole life right now.

I appreciate that man, and yeah its sad that VidIQ just isnt helpful to most small channels anymore, glad you decided to steer away from them
@@dayo9000ofc, I’m glad to.
If only I hadn't recorded my video about them yet hahah, great information this would've made for a great source!
Good job man it'll blow up
Thanks a lot Ben, and dw bro Im sure your video will be valuable regardless
I always wondered why algorithm help channels dont have over 10 million subs themselves

Wow this is a great analogy, I can see how VidIQ is pretty much doing the same thing with profiting off of small channels

Skeptical about this vid first but, i agree with what your saying now
Great content, definitely subscribing, am the 913th subscriber
ayy thanks man
I have a very large criticism with this video and that is that is the editing is way too good for a channel that is under 1,000 subscribers

haha loved this comment, thanks a lot

the first 30 - 40 secs are so true already, repetitive so much I just stopped watching cuz EVERY video is exactly the same
yup, its so annoying
