4:40 makes you think about Cliff ... makes you wanna weep like a little baby ... makes you feel guilty for all the shit you've done in your life, realizing that life is too damn short ... makes you stronger at the same time ... makes you feel as if you had a hole in your soul, as if something is missing .. for way too long ... makes you realize you've been searching something your whole life, which you still havent found ... makes you feel as if you've lost a very close friend and brother ... now imagine was james, lars and kirk must've felt when they actually lost Cliff
I was disappointed in the intro because I mean you can find the Mel Bay book with the exact notes they were playing even for a single guitar version on acoustic yet they were just grazing the cords and not ringing through the notes or playing the entire cord listen to the intro it was very very bad and could have been done way better. The notes simply weren't fully played they were just grazed over I can't believe it yeah it sounded similar because it was the same chords but not even close to the exact quality Metallica did and it really isn't that hard all you have to do is play the full bar and let it ring through properly two guitars can do it so easy like I said Mel Bay has the original sheet music and tablets her to follow and recreate the intro to a T I did in high school with my friend. This just grazed over it like a cover band quickly trying to get it over with. @4:40 my personal favorite part he didn't even play it accurately he just played similar sounding notes in the right chords A minor G minor a minor F major it wasn't the exact same James Hetfield actually played with his fingers. Now I get adding all the strings and stuff to make it pretty is totally okay but the guitar specially on a solo moment should literally play the exact same song not just graze over something similar

@@jordanfroger7915except it probably wasn't (nothing fits his style) but that is a wholenother topic. He deserves massive credit on the other albums though, without Cliff Metallica wouldn't make the music they do
My only critique would be to have the bookends and interlude riff on guitar down pat note-for-note faithful to the original as they're such crucial parts of the song. Incredible performance otherwise.
LordDes - Thank you, I appreciate the honesty, I get what you are saying. But know that at the beginning especially, the guitarist (Rob Bambach) was vamping to cover a set change from the previous song on the program, and it's difficult to ask a guitarist of Rob's talents to play the same thing over and over indefinitely.
Also - there are very few examples of Metallica playing this live, and one of them has a longer solo where Kirk plays stuff that's quite different than the studio cut. It was difficult to get a definite feel for how literal we needed to be. But I get you!
Some criticisms are so minor as to be negligible, this is one of those. If you're looking for album accuracy when fade-ins/outs are involved, you're gonna have a bad time. You wanna tell someone to play Metallica songs correctly, start with Metallica...

This is one of my favorite Metallica songs. I love the band, love the song and love Cliff. The interlude is the most beautiful piece of music that I know. You covered this song so extraordinarily well that I actually had to cry
This song is so emotional. I can't help but think about James during the years of Cliff's death. You can feel the boiling ferocity and anger in his riffs, as well as the hollow and defeated sound of a man's broken heart. This is the sound of a man coming apart.. This is how they mourned him. James did a good job sending his brother home with power, an honorable effort. Great job and amazing rendition. Kudos. RIP Clifford Lee Burton. I'm almost certain James sheds a few tears while Cliff's tribute is playing on the screens during their live shows. A fallen brother is never forgotten. Chris Poland had said that Dave Mustaine was completely out of it for weeks following Cliff's death, and that he was not speaking or being himself at all. You can hear his pain in their song 'In My Darkest Hour'. Chilling stuff. Stay strong fellow metalheads.

In my opinion “And Justice for all” is the best album of Metallica of all times, “Blackenned” and “To Live is To Die” are the best in this album.
Thank you for watching and listening and commenting!
Shortest straw for me. Huge riffs
Dyer's Eve is always overlooked tbh. Easily their heaviest song
Земляк🤘
i know this is essentially a white bread opinion but still i cannot get over One
I'm the Only who gives a gossebumps when enters all the violins
I crying a lot after listening THIS
Adrian Villanueva I dont want to sound like an asshole, just trying to help:
"Am I the only who gets goosebumps when the violins join in? I am crying a lot after this
I had that to my friend
the best cover so far
I think the best Metallica cover I've seen or heard yet.
wasn't so sure about this at first, but once he got to the first solo...holy shit, I was sold
Thank you for sticking it out!
Holy shit... I'm amazed. Never before have I thought anyone was possibly OVER qualified to rock this song, especially on these particular instruments. I got chills at parts like it was the damn original... wow guys. I'm blown away.
We felt the weight of great responsibility on this one. Thank you!
Agreed
I keep on coming back to this amazing performance of this classic ‘tallica track. Please get your guys together and give us Orion. You know you wanna 🤘😁🤘
Thanks so much! You're right; we do wanna. This year we covered "One," so stay tuned for that one to drop some months down the road once the video is edited and the audio is mixed. . .
David Wallace hell yeah! Can't wait!
Thanks David for taking the time to respond. I will certainly keep my eyes and ears peeled for that! 👍
Already playing it 15 times! Magnificent!
Thank you!!!
I couldn't believe they were playing violins even watching the video. Absolutely Amazing!!!! Made me cry and headbang at the same time!!
How could you ever dislike this? Holy shit! 30 years after hearing this for the first time! September 10 of 1988 when I got the álbum!!!!!!
Thank you! It was Spring of 1989 when I first head this, and it changed my life.
And we never get old ever since Chuck Bontrager lol
Exactly! I have been 18 all this time...🤣
Words cannot describe how beautifull this song was
this is too goddamn cool aw man big respect for these guys!❤️❤️
5:10 wow that brought tears to my eyes. Awesome cover
Witnessing this live was nothing short of incredible. The extended fingerings at 3:33......
Practice yer octaves and 10ths, my friend.
the part at 5:08 gave me goosebumps, it's so beautiful
The guitar player's version of the clean interlude is just so, so very good. I adore this cover.
Many, many, thanks. You may be the first commentor to have openly enjoyed what our guitarist did. Thank you for watching and listening and commenting!
that solo was awesome and the 2 guitar harmony is simply EPIC with the crowd cheering brought a tear to my eye being a MetallicA fan
Many thanks. That was a very fun show
Thats the song to be played in my funeral
7:44 such an epic sight to see bunch of guys headbanging from the audience!!
I wasn't expecting that...I thought maybe a classical style. But I got both.. good job
The best instrumental song in the whole universe
wtf holy shit this is beyond awesome. Those piano fills are TIGHT!!!!
Matt Vanacoro is one of the tightest keyboard players in the business! It was great to have him on this. At this year's MWROC Festival, we covered Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home," and the keys never sounded better. Thanks for noticing!
@@docwallacemusic it’s around 5:25 when you’re on screen that I took notice but then I notice EVERYTHING after that!
Bravo again to everyone.
4 years later and this is still a marvelous performance.
@@neoneherefrom5836 , and four years later, the aforementioned "Home Sweet Home" is up on TH-cam! More Vanacoro for you: th-cam.com/video/0XaBJ9q237M/w-d-xo.html
7:26 makes me goosebump so hard as the poem read with full emotion
This is one of my favorite Metallica songs. I love the band, love the song and love Cliff. The interlude is the most beautiful piece of music that I know. You covered this song so extraordinarily well that I actually had to cry
Thank you, Arne.
Me too
Speechless! Just...speechless
Thank you!
Yeah this is just f'in awesome.
I'm not crying. You are crying.
I got excited
THANK YOU
Killer performance on this epic song. RIP Cliff! 🤘🤘
Thank you, Andrew
