John's speed has significantly decreased, but you can tell his mind is still there. I know it has to be frustrating to not be able to have the timing you used to, even when your mind tells you to strike, but I applaud his tenacity and toughness to keep fighting.
I don't, competing past your time is as crazy as training on any other injury. He looked stiff and slow.
@@xyaeiounn I’m not sure if you fight at a competitive level or not, but I can tell you the thought of hanging up the gloves for good is such a heartbreaking thing to consider. I just don’t think he’s willing to give it up, and I get it. But yeah, he looks super stiff and slow but he took on a tough opponent and still defended well.
@@jh1328 When it's time to stop, your ego will keep you going through to the point where you can't sit comfortably, ever again, or you start to forget what you had for breakfast by lunchtime. That's when you need people around you to counsel you.
More often, everyone around a fighter is trying to make a buck or a name for themselves and will let the poor bastard compete until he's literally a basket-case.
If you still have something to prove after your time, if you pissed away your money, you're in a very dangerous place in life.
He's a name, he was great, he can still be marjeted, but holy crap, he doesn't look good doing it. If he dies in the ring the excuses will be amazing to hear.
