My Prostate Cancer Surgery - One year later.

  • It's been about a year since I had a Prostatectomy, after being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, probably caused by my many years as a firefighter. Yesterday I went down to the cancer center for my one-year followup, and there is no evidence of any remaining cancer, which is exactly what I wanted to hear. This video is a recap of how everything went down, my decision-making process before the surgery, and how I'm doing now. If you know anybody who is dealing with Prostate Cancer now, this video may help them make the difficult decision of how to deal with it. Cancer is a killer....it's nothing to mess with.

Great news, Chuck! Obviously you made the right choice in opting for your prostate to be removed. One of the cancers that my late husband fought was throat cancer. Surgery wasn't an option because he was already at stage 4, and so he went through some really rough chemo and radiation throughout the summer of 2012. It was a difficult summer, but he did it and he beat that cancer. I am sure glad you did too.

Thanks, Lisa! My wife and I are both cancer survivors. My wife beat lymphoma many years ago....

Thank you for posting this video. I was just diagnosed yesterday with prostate cancer and I’m at the beginning stage of researching what might be best for me. I appreciate you sharing your experience and your honest advice. Congratulations on being cancer free!

Hello, Tim.... When I was first diagnosed, I decided to share the whole decision-making process as well as the surgery and my recovery. It is all on a playlist of 16 videos that you can find on my channel home page. Because of what I do, my decision-making process crossed into some pretty fringy territory, but it's all there if you wish to watch it. Whichever treatment route you choose, do it as soon as you can. As I said in the video: You'll never be any younger, it will never be any easier, and the cancer will never stop getting worse until you deal with it. I wish you the best of luck, my friend....

    Wonderful news Chuck !!!
Bummer about no tea, I've heard those stones can be very painful.
Most women who've had babies have gone through the dribbles.
    No trampolines for us...😂
    Good information thx

Hello Chuck! Thank you for this timely video, as my husband has to go in to his Urologist for a second biopsy. His PSA keeps inching up every year since April of 2020. Like you, his Gleason score didn't show anything aggressive, but it's time to check it out again. We're hoping for the best, and thinking of going towards the Proton Therapy radiation. However, we've had friends that have opted for the surgery and swear by it. One friend had a terrible experience with his surgery, so we're doing all the background we can do right now. I'm going to go back through your videos - Thank you!

Hi, Vonnie! I monitored my PSA for several years as it gradually creeped up, so I had plenty of time to do my research. I have friends and fellow retired firefighters (it seems that nearly 100% of us old fire guys get prostate cancer) who have done all of the various types of radiation, as well as those of us who have chosen to just have the dang thing removed. As I said in the video, I decided that the quicker it was out of my body completely, the quicker I'd know for absolute certainty that it couldn't hurt me anymore. There is a whole Playlist on my channel home page that details my entire decision-making process. I hope it helps, and I wish you and your hubby the best of luck, no matter which type of treatment he ultimately chooses....

I've had kidney stones in the past also. Since you've passed some you are close to knowing how it is for us women to birth a child. LOL There's some high oxalate foods like the teas and spinach is also high. Maybe you've heard of people who go on a carnivore diet and how sometimes the oxalate crystals will work out through the skin. That's why those stones are so painful to pass because they are a conglomerate of crystals. I'm happy for you to have had such a great checkup!!

    • @chuckjacobs-arizona7698
      @chuckjacobs-arizona7698  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thanks, Cathy. I've been on the Carnivore Diet for about five years now, and I've had no issues regarding oxalate crystals or kidney stones, although I recently "got worked on" in that area by one of the Sasquatch People. I thought at the time that it may have been related to potential kidney stones forming....and maybe that is accurate.

Hi Chuck, I had a Radial Prostatectomy in 1999 my PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) was 4.1 at the time. I had it checked for a year or so after and was never over 0.1 - The Cancer can change it's growth speed. I've had no problems. I did ALL the research I could at the time and picked surgery over radiation, that if it came back I could still get radiation later. Hang in there man.

As I said in the video, Allen, my PSA continues to be "undetectable." I'll take that all day long! Best of luck to you, and thanks for watching and commenting....

I did a LOT of research before my first appointment there, and I came in "loaded for bear." I peppered the doctor with so many questions that I think it surprised him. But I agree with you in that whole place is set up like an "assembly line." Bang. Bang. Bang, Get 'em in. Get 'em out. I'm glad that you're doing well so far....

Thank you. The worst was in the beginning I received a voicemail from someone stating that I have a highly aggressive form of cancer and high high risk of metastasizing. The ender the voicemail stating have a nice day.
Throw me in total despair. There wasn't much research I could do just panic. I'm happy where I am now they seem to care

Don't the Sabe people have healing capabilities? You should ask them to help see if they can heal you? Or if they possess that abilities.

They have been involved with this from the very beginning, and it was something they did that convinced me to go ahead with the surgery. I've talked about it extensively in earlier videos. Check out the My Prostate Cancer Playlist on my channel home page.

So glad to hear you got good news at the Dr.! You are doing a really good thing making videos on this it may help someone else dealing with this. I think talking about things really helps to spread the information to other men going thru this. Us ladies have our own plumbing issues so I think it’s safe to say this is one of those things with aging just don’t sneeze! lol!
