I’ve been playing harmonica for maybe four or so months now, and it’s at the point where I can actually play things that sound really good. Thanks man.
I want to thank you for putting sheet music along with the tabs. It's been a long time since I've read sheet music (trumpet, elementary school for only one year but I do remember how to read it) and it's great to have it there so I can tell the spacing between the notes and I can work out a section relatively close to correct before I TRY and play along. Wish I had found this about a year ago. Thanks to the lessons and tabs you're putting out, my progress is starting to pick up at a nice pace. Keep em coming for they are greatly appreciated.
+Ziad Natsheh you are too kind :-) thank you! You should check out Adam Gussow, Ronnie Shellist, Liam Ward, David Barrett, Jason Ricci and many others :-)
Note to self, for repeated practice (approximate start times) Lick two 2:34 Lick three 3:50 Lick four 5:20 Lick five 7:20 Lick six 9:30 Lick seven 10:30
There is another and easier way to do 'throat vibrato'. Just move the harp on your lips a little bit but not enough to introduce other notes. It works just as well. And for just 49.95 I will also teach you how bad it is for you to eat tomatoes.
fine lesson. btw on youtube there is an old tv show from the US where people had to guess what kind of profession people did. In one the team had to guess the profession of the (then still unknown) Paul Butterfield :-) Cannot find it anymore
Tomlin, speaking of Butterfield, his version of Drown in My Own Tears has loads of licks from which to be stolen. Because of the comples changes (viz. Diminished) it would make for an advanced lesson.
A down arrow means a draw (sucking) an up arrow means a blow. An arrow with a short line next to it and a number 1 means a whole step draw. Likewise, a number 1/2 means a half step draw.
@Tomlin Leckie Thanks man! Its reaaaallllyyy hard to find good or even decent tab tutorials on internet for harps, if you could ceep such songs, licks, riffs coming, new harpers would love you to deaths, ;D Also, could you make a tutorial on Harp Position tabs above 3rd position? Its impossible to find them on the internet, i tell you
That would be amasing! Thank you! :) Well, if you run out of ideas of what you could make a tutorial about, relating to harps, you can ask me, i got like 100 things that, me and any other beginer struggles finding on the internet, haha
Hi Francois, I'm sorry to hear about this. It is a really common problem and usually means that you are placing the outside of your lips on the harp. Instead, you should place the inside of your lips (the wet part) on the harmonica. This will keep you nice and lubricated. Let me know how you get on. :-)
