Remember seeing a blackening when visiting the west coast. Bride and groom in the rubbish trailer behind a truck round the village. That pile of chaff looks ideal for when its your turn.
that product your talking about is 0-14-14 and there is lots of other trace elements in it, we use it across all our backend crops as its slow release. used to be great for the grass (clover loved it!) but QMS have banned it for grass, SQC are fine though. Angus Limestores Ltd
Had a bucket I kept the feed lick lids in sitting outside - there’s always a bit of the lick left on the lid. Well it turns out that if you leave it long enough it turns into the most horrendous stinking stuff - ideal for throwing on your next brother in law at his blackening 🙂
In Northern Ireland, bride and groom usually get it at the same time. Tied up in a trailer and covered in all sorts of nasty smelling and looking stuff, some of it had been fermenting for a while 😉 Anyway all their mates follow honking their horns as they are brought throught the streets of the local area. Wedding traditions are great, as long as your not on the receiving end 😂😂
My local council tryed to ban blackening, but the bride and groom are usually tied to chairs on a trailer or back of a pickup and taken for a tour of the town covered in all sorts of
Back home they normally get tied to the market cross in front of the Cathedral after being paraded through the town on a back of a pick up. The local police normally turn a blind eye proving they aren’t doing something daft.
at a blackening I attended we tied guy to a farm sign right next to the main road, police were called by a passing car, they arrived saw what was happening , laughed ,said we are not going near him and drove away
Come on Crawford where was the bucket of chaff to go with the oil 😬. Not sure he would have thanked you for it though. It’s a great Scottish tradition until it’s your own turn 🤣

Fibrophos, that’s the stuff at the weighbridge, especially good for grass, really greens it up. High in phosphate.

Oi! So Crawford, when did Gate Lady pop the question?
Your day will come for that treatment 😂
Wow used oil is a bit savage, most folks use black treacle these days. Guess they will get their revenge and pay you back 🤣
Oil can cause dermatitas and other skin problems. Not a good idea, soot would have been better,
What’s that you got it coming to you 😂 ❤
Pity you couldn’t get a pellet press and make a bio mass from the chaff!
Tractor brand preference?
Must be about time for you to receive a blackening Crawford?
Was that the gossip that you have done the decent thing by the gatelady???
