Dom has heat but not much else of substance to the caliber of other guys. Dom has as much heat if not more than LA Knight but nobody is really itching to see him feud with Cody or Rollins. He hasn't even won the IC or the US yet, give him time, let him cook but if you rush it it won't work. And a failed cash-in while it wouldn't necessarily hurt his stock he's not completely that weasel heel he has a bit of that lie cheat steal attitude to him, so while it would be interesting that can come next year or maybe the year after since other stuff needs to pan out for Dom to have an opening into the main title picture.

They all had a build that worked for what their character was, and Dom's build certainly works for that, but he either needs to get bigger or get cut up like Edge or Balor. As it stands, his build works for the character but doesn't lend itself to a believable champion. Because for as slimy as Edge was in his rivalry with Cena, you still believed him as a champion on his own terms even if he did resort to heel tactics. At the end of the day, heel tactics may make you a champion, but they don't keep you champion. With that being said, it's more believable to me that Damian Priest becomes world champ before Dom, and maybe that's what will cause the splintering of The Judgement Day when that eventually happens in the future. That split will at the very least be interesting, and I'd argue it will lead to better and more complex storylines than the shield split, at least between the characters themselves as opposed the wider reaching impact because the shield produced stars in two different companies and if Rollins leaves at the end of is contract (which he definitely won't and neither will Becky or Drew, they're just negotiating new deals) then potentially three different companies in the event he goes to TNA or back to ROH.
