      Welcome aboard! Thank you and for sure new projects this year. The Playlist tab on the channel has the other dedicated rail streams with some additional stock used as test pieces for various techniques, including graffiti decals and pigments.

      I have no doubt you'll put your personal flavor on a rail subject soon, I would love to see you do something in this genre ;)

    Someone on a FB group just posted this video, and, coincidentally, just bought my first oil paints today to start using them for weathering as I already use powders and acrylics. Look forward to watching your videos and subbed!

    I've watched many modelers on you tube use this technique. To be honest none of them explained fully how to work with OPR or how durable it is, thank you for doing both. Great video!

      Thank you and that's because it’s my signature weathering technique I developed back in the mid-2000’s. I’ve been writing about in my books ever since, and the advent of TH-cam has really given it the legs to branch out and be used by more and more modelers, regardless of scale or subject.
      Also, the playlist tab has the other OPR streams and you can find the books on our website (link in the description).

    Mike, great video, what took you so long? We talked about this when you were at Hornet Hobbies here in Toronto. Dave and I asked you about including the railroad side of the hobby a few years ago. Thank you, I’m definitely going to share this!

      Forgot to add my name, Ralph Renzetti.

      Yes! I remember well. I started this a while back with including some rail projects (these are only proof of concept test models, nothing too serious as yet), and definitely recommend you go back through some of the live streams for even more rail content.
      I'm just starting the condensed edited videos from the live streams, and it was time to get this one done. You can find them all in the Playlists tab, and will have more in the future. Take care, best to you and Dave & Trish!
      Some of the best days were spent at Hornet! :))

    I am buying the Gamblin paints that you list but they do not have a lamp black but an Ivory or a Mars black, which should I get or am I splitting Hairs ? Thanks !

    • @rs.p
      @rs.p  ปีที่แล้ว

      My bad, I updated it to read Mars Black. The reason is Van Dyke Brown is a key color and Ivory Black is closer to it, therefore Mars Black gives you a better option with a deeper richer black.
      I've also updated with some additional new colors recently added from he 1980 Series. Cheers!

    What about slot cars? And scenery?

    • @rs.p
      @rs.p  ปีที่แล้ว

      Coming from car background, I have a soft spot for 'em and 1/32 slot cars are abundant... that said, it's not on the radar anytime in the near future. I recommend taking time to watch the content, consider the books, and then practice and apply the techniques in your genre.
      Scenery isn't my forte, I stick to mostly machines right now, but nothing is off the table (pun intended lol). That said, I have a large 1/35 Gundam+armor cross-over diorama in progress (underway in the Mecha playlist)... it's early days yet, and it will have a complete city scene/industrial base, which will likely including foliage, scenery and building replication.
