I really liked the video Brendan as always, but I can assure you that straight vertical tdr (gumbi form) are the best. I’m talking about Micheal Guthrie, Fuju Honjo, Takahiro Enomoto, and of course Alex Hunter. Advice to all the people who wish to have a perfect tdr out here even if it takes time, you HAVE to master the gumbi first. That way when you completely mastered it, you’ll be able to just send it with one arm. That’s literally what Alex Hunter’s tdr is, a one handed gumbi.

the vertical tdr is not necessarily the best for everybody even though i have the same opinion as you when it comes to my personal tdr. alexander andersen and shosei are really good examples for a tdr that is over the side but still gives you lots of power. so imo everyone should figur out what works best for them

Go Tie yeah I do agree that some people have a specific type of morphology that makes it harder to learn the gumbi form tdr (especially short people). Now, Alexander Andersen has, to me, world’s most powerfull tdr ever, because he managed to add something I’ll never understand into this technique. But can you spot someone else with a sideways tdr that can land quad cork like him ? Shosei and Zen’s tdr are another thing ; they don’t have a specific technique to it, because their morphology makes it so powerful anyways that they don’t really have to focus on something else than staying low and solid. But once again these three trickers are one in a kind, and even if Alexander has the most powerful tdr for corks, he’ll never be able to do something like tdr double backflip like all the trickers I’ve mentioned on top, because this kind of tdr only sends you to the side. In my opinion, the best twisting technique is when your head is completely upside-down as well, that’s why beside being very powerful, the gumbi technique is the most polyvalent you can find.

I see how it’s done but I just can’t no patter how hard I try. I always land with a bent leg and I just feel like I’m not flexible enough cause i don’t really land with one leg extended out so I just kinda land with both. Any tips would be amazing.

Andrew Greene learn gumbi first, it helps with the understanding of the global motion. For me, tdr secret is the gumbi.
