Tielman Susato (Danserye) changed my life when I was 14. Early music was a shameful secret passion among 2 or 3 of us in the whole school... which was ok because we did tons of Baroque. But a few of us had an extra, secret jewel..!
Heel mooi gespeeld overigens!
Do you think you could ever try some ragtimes on the harpsichord? I found some videos where someone digitalized old vinyls of exactly that, however there's still plenty of fantastic Joplin pieces that haven't been covered yet. What was there sounded absolutely fantastic. It would be a fun addition!
I think the sound of the harpsichord suits that style also very much. I'm not really into ragtime, but I am curious how it sounds with the harpsichord!
You're welcome, thanks for watching! The smaller instrument (the child) can be placed upon the larger instrument (the mother) and coupled, so they can play together. You can also play them separately as shown in the video. The smaller virginal can be placed within the case of the larger virginal to store it there.
Awesome music - beautiful instrument.

You're welcome, Pyramos! Thanks for your compliments and I wish you a good weekend too!
Wonderful! The acquisition of a mother and child muselaar is the best thing you can do if you are a real fan of virginal music!
I agree! Thank you very much for listening, Andreas!
very nice, and quite a collection of keyboard instruments in the background
Yes! That are some old keyboards the builder stores there. Thanks for watching!
What a great performance Luuk and Marijn! You are so very fortunate to have that wonderful early keyboard shop in your area!
Thanks Rickey! Yes, we are very fortunate, I'm very glad to live in the Netherlands for that reason.
Twee grote talenten!❤
Bedankt!

Very nice. Thank you. Were those virginals designed to nest side by side?
It's called a mother and child virginal. The smaller virginal's built in as a drawer I believe, playing an octave higher.
