This COVID experience has been the opposite of what you are talking about for me. I have felt so much peace. I KNOW, in my heart of hearts that God has got all of this. You said "God can't be held in or limited by a quarantine". What The Holy Spirit has been whispering to me is that this quarantine is PART of HIS work! I know people are suffering, and I know it is difficult, but these are the last days. Through these situations, God is covering the earth in His Spirit. He is whispering to everyone everywhere, "I am here. Come to Me. You will find peace." He is begging everyone to let go of their worldiness and turn to Him for the answers. Because He has them! All through the scriptures we see that God teaches people through adversity. This is no different.

This video really had great timing for those Elders and Sisters who are seeing their missions cut short. I lost my dad 5 months into my mission, but chose not to go home, worried I would have a hard time going back to Brazil if I went home. Than in 1990 the Gulf War caused some issues in Sao Paulo where an LDS Chapel was bombed. As a result we were required to no longer wear our name tags until things got safe again. It seems like a small thing but I still remember the feelings we all felt and the tears that soaked our cheeks as we were told we couldn't wear the Savior's Name on our chest for a few months. I'm praying all missionaries going through this trial will remember the things mentioned in this video. Thanks again David and Emily your words are always a highlight of my week.
We are moving to a new part of the Lord’s vineyard. With two properties to sell we have been a little apprehensive about this quarantine coming at the very time when we needed to be advertising them and having people coming through to see our homes. We decided to put a for sale by owner sign on one of them on Monday this week. We also were going to have an open house on the weekend hoping just a few people might come who were well. The day we put up the sign we got a call from a young couple who wanted to look at it that day. The next day we had an offer from them that we countered and accepted today. As we were going through all of this a friend stopped by and offered to buy the home we live in. We wrote up a contract! Selling both our homes in the same day is definitely a miracle! The Lord knows who we are, and what we need. He knew we couldn’t have a constant parade of people coming through our homes at this time. What a blessing! I am so grateful and truly love Him. Thank you for your insights and for being a voice of hope in the darkness. You guys will be blessed for what you are doing.

Thank you guys so much. This is the first time that ive watched your vodeos. I got back from Brazil 3 days ago serving as a missionary for 11 months. I havent heard anything from anyone about if i will be relesed or reassigned. I am simply waiting out the quarenteene like everyone else. And I have felt that there is nothing to do. Thank you for your inspired words, and for this exciting reminder that God is waiting for us to jump on board. To ask him what we need to do. I beleve that I was sent home because this is where God needs me NOW. and you guys helped me remember this. I will be praying asking what I can do todaym. Whats my errand. Last week I sent a text to our five adult children’s families with the words from Matthew 18:20 and reminding them that the ordinance of the sacrament being administered in their homes made their homes a sacred space. I have felt the presence and spirit of the Lord more strongly in our home since we have been asked to remain home. It is one of many tender mercies that we are seeing in our family.
I never stopped to think you receive NO feed back. Your life is so much different with little children. You have made me feel Heavenly Father is teaching us all something from where ever we are, at this time
No toilet paper in supermarkets here, plenty of onions to help us cry though. We are sewing masks for gifting to those in need as none available in chemist shops and other places of need. Funny how our lives can change from what is important one day to the next. My husband would choose to stay home all his life and never go out the gate so lockdown does not bother him. My parents have their 70th wedding anniversary this coming Sunday 5th April and we originally planned to have all 10 children and the grandchildren and great grandchildren but then I thought of conferencing and sadly one sibling does not want to see or hear a few others in the family. I do hope this challenging time will help people forgive others and not hold grudges. I love that we have the scriptures. I'm listening to this on July 7th and I just wanted to tell you guys this is exactly what I needed right now. I don't think it would have the same effect if I had listened when it came out. TENDER MERCIES! I love how David made the connection that expectations are the enemy of finding contentment in captivity...I have had so many expectations in several different aspects of my life through Coronapocalypse and I can see now that they have kept the Lord's tender mercies hidden. It doesn't mean they weren't there, but now I have to (get to) think back at all the tender mercies I missed because I allowed satan to take up room in me with expectations. This is what im walking away with today. Thank you for being his instrument and delivering that tender mercy to me today...bless you!

I have been like David and fighting against expectations and the not knowing what my job and life are supposed to look like for the next few months. Last night I realized that my attitude is only determined by me. I can continue to fight against the current situation or learn to find peace and contentment. Today, work was the best experience so far. We worked together and talked together and even though we were doing the same things we had been doing for the past two weeks, I was happier. God is in the details of our lives and He can bring us peace if we let Him in. Thank you for all you do!
I cheer you on and thank you for this lesson! I’m not on a mission, have raised two kids who are adults now, but everything you taught and reminded us of in this is relevant to us all. We’re all on “missions” to help one another and find others that need service. You hit so many great points, what gifts do we already have? What gifts will we gain? Stop hanging on to the way it should be and embrace what it is, for miracles are waiting to happen. I have witnessed many during this time and how grateful I am to be part of this church. There’s so many great tidbits, I could go on! I know we all need each other and the Lord knows each of us.
I am not a full time missionary, but I saw this video was posted and wanted to watch it...but looking back now that I've watched it I realized that Satan was distracting me SEVERAL times to keep me with various busy work. This message is very strengthening and although I've been relaxed about all this...but felt a little less positive the last 24 hours. I needed this refreshment. I agree with David that this is the new "IS". I had the good fortune to have my grandmother live with us from age 96-100. She'd been through a lot of difficult times and what I learned from her was to just be calm and things would all work out. Actually, I believe lots will change, but it will ultimately be for the better.

Thank you for this great help. I’m older and alone a lot. Now with this self isolation it’s way worse. Being alone is hard at all times anyway. I’m praying extra to survive this deeper aloneness, and seeking to know how I can help.
It's interesting listening to you talk about quarantine. Where I live we never changed our lifestyle. We still went to school, shopping, church, etc.... I can't imagine what you all went through. We also had the lowest cases of illnesses. You're all amazing and I'm glad the whole situation didn't stop you from doing these awesome videos

Thank you for all you do for uplifting me (us!!!). I woke up this morning thinking how am I going to make the things I need to do happen. I’ve been googling and you-tubing and this episode (of greatness!) just happened to show up in my feed!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’m not serving a mission, ( aren’t we all in some way?) but everything you’ve both said is what I needed to hear. I’m a widow and do not have a priesthood holder in my home. I’m working at home now and need to figure out some ways to “contact” my preschool speech students. It is absolutely overwhelming to me. But as I was listening to you today, I had a huge prompting come to me. I need to use the wonderful priesthood to help me. I am now calling on my ministers to give me a blessing. I know this blessing will help me figure out the worldly things I need to do as well as the spiritual things I need and what I can do to look for these tender mercies on a daily basis! I have a daughter and a son on a mission right. I walk up early this morning and I realized that I was crying in my sleep... So I got up and prayed to find confort. My purpose in this is to strengthen my and my children’s testimony. We have read the entire Book of Mormon during quarantine. It has made an amazing difference in our home! I love this video! The Lord has a wonderful plan and there is opposition in all things.

Little children at home... YES! Everyone is talking about how bored they are and I'm exhausted. Three elementary age, a preschooler and a toddler. Our school has already transitioned to online learning. So, I am coordinating school schedules with 5 different teachers, while trying to teach preschool and keep a toddler occupied. My husband is working from home. He had to move his office out to the garage because of the noise. (I know we are very blessed to be able to keep learning and working.) Plus, we just experienced our first earthquake. Everything is fine physically but kids are really rattled. So, I'm balancing six people, while maintaining a house and cooking three times a day. And I really want this conference to be the special experience the prophet has said it will be. I could really use a miracle.
I simply love your lessons. Your love of our Savior and Heavenly Father has increased my own faith as I have studied and been able to see things that my Savior has told me in the lines I study. I feel their love for me stronger than ever in my life time. Thank you so much for sharing your testimonies and knowledge. Love you both. Please don't stop.

Thank you so much. I developed a Primary Immune Deficiency a few years ago. I get Gamma Globulin infusions every month to keep me able to resist some illnesses. My doctor urges me to shelter in place every winter. It had been very difficult to not attend church or go to the Temple. I have struggled to find my place in this new situation for me. This quarantine is very serious for me. I am in that % that are dying! Your lesson today helped me so much! I will find my new place and seek to lift others!
Leslie Hobbs I am in a similar situation as you. I feel that I can share certain tips to my community on how to overcome loneliness or FOMO while isolating in the winter. This is a time for me to strengthen others! And I’m sure you feel the same way, too. God bless!
It is 2.30am and I cannot sleep. I have just had knee replacement and that has turned my life on its end and add to that this Corona Virus problem and the whole world has fallen apart. I am grateful for being able to have our own sacrament meeting in our home led by my husband. This is the miracle I am experiencing.
I just want to say thank you for your videos!!! They always set me up to feel the whisperings of the Spirit to me. This one, especially, I needed to hear, ponder and remember during this time of uncertainty and commotion.
This also applies beautifully to college students feeling purposeless with classes cancelled or changed to an online format. As a college Senior whose final year of college was in essence cancelled over the matter of a few days, I really needed this video as a reminder that I can find purpose even in this place I never planned to find myself in. So whether you’re a missionary or a child of God feeling purposeless as you face uncertainty and change-this message of finding purpose where you are applies!
Thank you so much for this lesson. I’m a widow living alone. This reminded me of many things that have been great blessings in my life. My husband was taken from this earth before his time should have been done. This verse of scripture was given in reference to the loss of my husband. Romans 8:26-27. “ 26. Likewise the spirit also help with our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27.And he that searcheth the hearts Knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the Saints according to the will of God.” Life takes many turns and twists. Some great some good and some awful. But knowing God even provided the Holy Ghost to pray when we are not able, if we but let Him know our needs. There may a different normal as many families are changed because of the world situations. As I had a life changing normal effect me and my family we must all learn contentment with the new normal that we received in life. May we remember to find peace in the life right now and in the future. Not looking back as it was 2 weeks ago nor 6 months or 5 years. But looking for the brightness we can give to others throughout the world. If you even get a hint of a name or person family or friend please call, text, face time or even write a note or letter to that person. You will brighten their day and life. Knowing someone is thinking about you in a moment is life changing and can give HOPE I pray for the guidance of the Lord in each of our lives. God will bless each of us in the time of need.
I found this video this evening right after the last session of the Saturday general conference and boy, was it for me! After 30 years of being a wife and stay at home mom, I find myself in the middle of a divorce and $8 in my bank account. I’d say that is definitely a very different place from the one I’m used to; all while in quarantine. Yet I know that the Lord is pruning, grafting, nurturing and guiding me. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. It has brought great comfort and hope to my heart. ♥️

Returned home on Sunday and am self-isolating for the next couple of weeks. I don't know if we'll be able to complete our mission but we'll go forward with faith in our Heavenly Father's plan. Thank you for this special edition. I am not a missionary but am sharing this with all the missionaries in my ward. This helps me as a mother who is hoping for and praying for a miracle in my home which is so badly needed at this time. Last night I learned why God says that when we do it unto the 1 of the least of these my brethren we do it unto him, because when one of my children is hurt by someone it hurts me so much that they did it to me. This is a great message to the missionaries in Sacramento and across every mission. My son serves in the Sacramento Mission at this time, and I was able to talk to him on his "P-Day" this week. Thank you for this extra ❤️ Special message David I have 6 littles ones here at home as well all 9 and under. We removed ourselves from everyday usuals like church and our other activities a month before all this struck due to the birth of our 6 th little Blessing. Partially because it was what we had planned but also we all got struck with type A of the flu the day of and the day after her birth. I was terribly sad that the day before we were going to bring our new addition to church and begin planning for her Blessing the church announced the closures of the meeting houses. I'm grateful for your time to help us and uplift us and your wonderful insights! My kiddos listen to you with me and my oldest is wishing he could come with me to time out for women in September to get an autograph. I'm just praying that it will still be held since it will be my first year to have the opportunity to go.

Ahh.. Sacramento Mission... my old stomping ground before I was a member. I was raised in North Highlands right down the street from one of the chapels that we thought was a " Temple"... My best friend from Jr. High was a member... a great family. The Kennedy's Wish I could find her to let her know I'm now a member too!

This video really had great timing for those Elders and Sisters who are seeing their missions cut short. I lost my dad 5 months into my mission, but chose not to go home, worried I would have a hard time going back to Brazil if I went home. Than in 1990 the Gulf War caused some issues in Sao Paulo where an LDS Chapel was bombed. As a result we were required to no longer wear our name tags until things got safe again. It seems like a small thing but I still remember the feelings we all felt and the tears that soaked our cheeks as we were told we couldn't wear the Savior's Name on our chest for a few months.
I'm praying all missionaries going through this trial will remember the things mentioned in this video.

We are moving to a new part of the Lord’s vineyard. With two properties to sell we have been a little apprehensive about this quarantine coming at the very time when we needed to be advertising them and having people coming through to see our homes. We decided to put a for sale by owner sign on one of them on Monday this week. We also were going to have an open house on the weekend hoping just a few people might come who were well. The day we put up the sign we got a call from a young couple who wanted to look at it that day. The next day we had an offer from them that we countered and accepted today. As we were going through all of this a friend stopped by and offered to buy the home we live in. We wrote up a contract! Selling both our homes in the same day is definitely a miracle! The Lord knows who we are, and what we need. He knew we couldn’t have a constant parade of people coming through our homes at this time. What a blessing! I am so grateful and truly love Him. Thank you for your insights and for being a voice of hope in the darkness. You guys will be blessed for what you are doing.

Thank you guys so much. This is the first time that ive watched your vodeos. I got back from Brazil 3 days ago serving as a missionary for 11 months. I havent heard anything from anyone about if i will be relesed or reassigned. I am simply waiting out the quarenteene like everyone else. And I have felt that there is nothing to do. Thank you for your inspired words, and for this exciting reminder that God is waiting for us to jump on board. To ask him what we need to do. I beleve that I was sent home because this is where God needs me NOW. and you guys helped me remember this. I will be praying asking what I can do todaym. Whats my errand. Last week I sent a text to our five adult children’s families with the words from Matthew 18:20 and reminding them that the ordinance of the sacrament being administered in their homes made their homes a sacred space. I have felt the presence and spirit of the Lord more strongly in our home since we have been asked to remain home. It is one of many tender mercies that we are seeing in our family.
I never stopped to think you receive NO feed back. Your life is so much different with little children. You have made me feel Heavenly Father is teaching us all something from where ever we are, at this time
No toilet paper in supermarkets here, plenty of onions to help us cry though. We are sewing masks for gifting to those in need as none available in chemist shops and other places of need. Funny how our lives can change from what is important one day to the next. My husband would choose to stay home all his life and never go out the gate so lockdown does not bother him. My parents have their 70th wedding anniversary this coming Sunday 5th April and we originally planned to have all 10 children and the grandchildren and great grandchildren but then I thought of conferencing and sadly one sibling does not want to see or hear a few others in the family. I do hope this challenging time will help people forgive others and not hold grudges. I love that we have the scriptures. Thank you for this beautiful reminder of God's love for us. I loved the scripture at the end Exodus 14:13...as you paraphrased it: Fear Ye Not, Stand Still , and see the salvation of the Lord. Watch it happen in a way that you never ever expected.
I'm listening to this on July 7th and I just wanted to tell you guys this is exactly what I needed right now. I don't think it would have the same effect if I had listened when it came out. TENDER MERCIES! I love how David made the connection that expectations are the enemy of finding contentment in captivity...I have had so many expectations in several different aspects of my life through Coronapocalypse and I can see now that they have kept the Lord's tender mercies hidden. It doesn't mean they weren't there, but now I have to (get to) think back at all the tender mercies I missed because I allowed satan to take up room in me with expectations. This is what im walking away with today. Thank you for being his instrument and delivering that tender mercy to me today...bless you!

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and peace. I have been like David and fighting against expectations and the not knowing what my job and life are supposed to look like for the next few months. Last night I realized that my attitude is only determined by me. I can continue to fight against the current situation or learn to find peace and contentment. Today, work was the best experience so far. We worked together and talked together and even though we were doing the same things we had been doing for the past two weeks, I was happier. God is in the details of our lives and He can bring us peace if we let Him in. Thank you for all you do!
I cheer you on and thank you for this lesson! I’m not on a mission, have raised two kids who are adults now, but everything you taught and reminded us of in this is relevant to us all. We’re all on “missions” to help one another and find others that need service. You hit so many great points, what gifts do we already have? What gifts will we gain? Stop hanging on to the way it should be and embrace what it is, for miracles are waiting to happen. I have witnessed many during this time and how grateful I am to be part of this church. There’s so many great tidbits, I could go on! I know we all need each other and the Lord knows each of us.
I am not a full time missionary, but I saw this video was posted and wanted to watch it...but looking back now that I've watched it I realized that Satan was distracting me SEVERAL times to keep me with various busy work. This message is very strengthening and although I've been relaxed about all this...but felt a little less positive the last 24 hours. I needed this refreshment. I agree with David that this is the new "IS". I had the good fortune to have my grandmother live with us from age 96-100. She'd been through a lot of difficult times and what I learned from her was to just be calm and things would all work out. Actually, I believe lots will change, but it will ultimately be for the better.

Thank you for this great help. I’m older and alone a lot. Now with this self isolation it’s way worse. Being alone is hard at all times anyway. I’m praying extra to survive this deeper aloneness, and seeking to know how I can help.

It's interesting listening to you talk about quarantine. Where I live we never changed our lifestyle. We still went to school, shopping, church, etc.... I can't imagine what you all went through. We also had the lowest cases of illnesses. You're all amazing and I'm glad the whole situation didn't stop you from doing these awesome videos

Thank you so much for these videos! I returned home early from my mission a few weeks ago and it was devastating. I have been trying and praying every day to find my purpose of all of this, I do not know if I have found it yet but thank you for the amazing encouragements and insights. Thank you for all you do for uplifting me (us!!!). I woke up this morning thinking how am I going to make the things I need to do happen. I’ve been googling and you-tubing and this episode (of greatness!) just happened to show up in my feed!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’m not serving a mission, ( aren’t we all in some way?) but everything you’ve both said is what I needed to hear. I’m a widow and do not have a priesthood holder in my home. I’m working at home now and need to figure out some ways to “contact” my preschool speech students. It is absolutely overwhelming to me. But as I was listening to you today, I had a huge prompting come to me. I need to use the wonderful priesthood to help me. I am now calling on my ministers to give me a blessing. I know this blessing will help me figure out the worldly things I need to do as well as the spiritual things I need and what I can do to look for these tender mercies on a daily basis! I have a daughter and a son on a mission right. I walk up early this morning and I realized that I was crying in my sleep... So I got up and prayed to find confort. Little children at home... YES! Everyone is talking about how bored they are and I'm exhausted. Three elementary age, a preschooler and a toddler. Our school has already transitioned to online learning. So, I am coordinating school schedules with 5 different teachers, while trying to teach preschool and keep a toddler occupied. My husband is working from home. He had to move his office out to the garage because of the noise. (I know we are very blessed to be able to keep learning and working.)
Plus, we just experienced our first earthquake. Everything is fine physically but kids are really rattled. So, I'm balancing six people, while maintaining a house and cooking three times a day. And I really want this conference to be the special experience the prophet has said it will be.
I could really use a miracle.
I simply love your lessons. Your love of our Savior and Heavenly Father has increased my own faith as I have studied and been able to see things that my Savior has told me in the lines I study. Thank you so much. I developed a Primary Immune Deficiency a few years ago. I get Gamma Globulin infusions every month to keep me able to resist some illnesses. My doctor urges me to shelter in place every winter. It had been very difficult to not attend church or go to the Temple. I have struggled to find my place in this new situation for me. This quarantine is very serious for me. I am in that % that are dying! Your lesson today helped me so much! I will find my new place and seek to lift others!
Leslie Hobbs I am in a similar situation as you. I feel that I can share certain tips to my community on how to overcome loneliness or FOMO while isolating in the winter. This is a time for me to strengthen others! And I’m sure you feel the same way, too. God bless!

It is 2.30am and I cannot sleep. I have just had knee replacement and that has turned my life on its end and add to that this Corona Virus problem and the whole world has fallen apart. I am grateful for being able to have our own sacrament meeting in our home led by my husband. This is the miracle I am experiencing.
I just want to say thank you for your videos!!! They always set me up to feel the whisperings of the Spirit to me. This one, especially, I needed to hear, ponder and remember during this time of uncertainty and commotion.
This also applies beautifully to college students feeling purposeless with classes cancelled or changed to an online format. As a college Senior whose final year of college was in essence cancelled over the matter of a few days, I really needed this video as a reminder that I can find purpose even in this place I never planned to find myself in.
So whether you’re a missionary or a child of God feeling purposeless as you face uncertainty and change-this message of finding purpose where you are applies!
Thank you so much for this lesson. I’m a widow living alone. This reminded me of many things that have been great blessings in my life. My husband was taken from this earth before his time should have been done. This verse of scripture was given in reference to the loss of my husband. Romans 8:26-27. “ 26. Likewise the spirit also help with our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27.And he that searcheth the hearts Knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the Saints according to the will of God.”
Life takes many turns and twists. Some great some good and some awful. But knowing God even provided the Holy Ghost to pray when we are not able, if we but let Him know our needs. There may a different normal as many families are changed because of the world situations. As I had a life changing normal effect me and my family we must all learn contentment with the new normal that we received in life. May we remember to find peace in the life right now and in the future. Not looking back as it was 2 weeks ago nor 6 months or 5 years. But looking for the brightness we can give to others throughout the world.
If you even get a hint of a name or person family or friend please call, text, face time or even write a note or letter to that person. You will brighten their day and life. Knowing someone is thinking about you in a moment is life changing and can give HOPE I pray for the guidance of the Lord in each of our lives. God will bless each of us in the time of need.
I found this video this evening right after the last session of the Saturday general conference and boy, was it for me! After 30 years of being a wife and stay at home mom, I find myself in the middle of a divorce and $8 in my bank account. I’d say that is definitely a very different place from the one I’m used to; all while in quarantine. Yet I know that the Lord is pruning, grafting, nurturing and guiding me. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. It has brought great comfort and hope to my heart. ♥️

Thank you for this special edition. I am not a missionary but am sharing this with all the missionaries in my ward. This helps me as a mother who is hoping for and praying for a miracle in my home which is so badly needed at this time. Last night I learned why God says that when we do it unto the 1 of the least of these my brethren we do it unto him, because when one of my children is hurt by someone it hurts me so much that they did it to me. This is a great message to the missionaries in Sacramento and across every mission. My son serves in the Sacramento Mission at this time, and I was able to talk to him on his "P-Day" this week. I felt the Spirit so strongly in this video, and after as I have pondered it, and shared it with everyone I can. These are great life lessons, that we need to remember at every phase of our lives. I love the idea that God is greater than quarantine and a virus! We don't know what His purpose is in all of this, but we can find our purpose, and learn things from this quarantine to make us better people moving forward. Thank you for this extra ❤️ Special message David I have 6 littles ones here at home as well all 9 and under. We removed ourselves from everyday usuals like church and our other activities a month before all this struck due to the birth of our 6 th little Blessing. Partially because it was what we had planned but also we all got struck with type A of the flu the day of and the day after her birth. I was terribly sad that the day before we were going to bring our new addition to church and begin planning for her Blessing the church announced the closures of the meeting houses. I'm grateful for your time to help us and uplift us and your wonderful insights! My kiddos listen to you with me and my oldest is wishing he could come with me to time out for women in September to get an autograph. I'm just praying that it will still be held since it will be my first year to have the opportunity to go.

Ahh.. Sacramento Mission... my old stomping ground before I was a member. I was raised in North Highlands right down the street from one of the chapels that we thought was a " Temple"... My best friend from Jr. High was a member... a great family. The Kennedy's Wish I could find her to let her know I'm now a member too!

Moses was also set adrift on the water as a helpless infant. Maybe he always had that gift.
