Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD) is responsible for managing Canada's diplomatic and consular relations, as well as promoting international trade and development. Any student of auditing will tell you that a clean audit opinion for an operational control process requires no more than 4 to 5 percent of identified exceptions.
The 20 percent of identified non-compliance with policies and procedures is clearly unacceptable. Public servants should be fired for allowing waste, fraud or inefficiency to take place.
Government employees can’t get fired. Once you have a government job, you continue to get paid tax payer money no matter what you do, until you die. In some cases families continue to get paid by tax payers even after death.
