    Don't know if l am missing something but 2 killer features that Slider Revolution lacks would be to have the option to select different background images for each resolution and the ability to define more @ media points. I Might want to have 5-6 desktop resolutions, for example 4K, 2.5K, 1920p and various tablet and mobile resolutions. You could achieve that with making multiple versions of the same slider and control it via css but that complicates things immensely and adds a huge cpu overhead since from what l understand the animations of the hidden sliders and still take place in the background adding to the cpu load.
    For Static background images you can easily change the css and change the background image but if the slide has any transitions the background image inserted via css bugs out.

      (though the real issue is for it to not load if not seen for page load speed).

    Desperately trying to figure out why my slides are not responsive. At 14:00 you lost me - I don't see a responsiveness menu inside the layers menu. Also...I guess the background image is basically static and will get 'cut off' in various formats so best bet for graphic images with text that need to be seen entirely on all devices need to be a separate layer on top of the background? Sorry - I have zero tech support and have wasted a LOT of time trying to figure this out on my own...! Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Thank you. I knew it couldn't be that difficult, but I have been watching videos and reading documentation for days, and only NOW it makes sense. Slider Revolution is great, but it isn't Photoshop or InDesign which really take years to figure out, and there's not much to do about that. I knew here there were a number of steps to learn and remember, but not tomes written by Adobe. A bit complicated, as I thought, but then again, not really. Thank you. I think you've saved me days of digging.

    thanks for the nice tutorial. it is helpful.
    Is there any easy way to set a centre point to where the image must be resized in each possible device? Lets say I have a photo as background with one person slightly off centre. How can I tell the slider to resize accordantly in order to don't crop the face of the person in the photo? I mean I try moving around the background in each device size, but is very cumbersome. Wouldn't be easier to be able to move around the blue lines that delimit the screen sizes to the spot in the background where they should resize to?

    While this answers a lot of questions, I still can not adjust the area of the background image to be displayed on mobile devices.
    It always seem to be stuck on the left side of the image.
    In the Slide Options in the Image Settings there are no options to adjust the image like n one of your online tutorials. I use Slider Vers. 6.3.3.
    In landscape mode the slider looks petty much OK on all devices, but in Portrait Mode on Mobile and Tablet I only see the left part of the background image and I would like to be able to select the interesting part for each image, which ist mostly the center. I think I have looked trough all settings and I just can not find were to adjust that. Thanks and Happy 2021!

    Why we can adjust the background image for each device?

    • @SliderRevolution
      @SliderRevolution  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, your scenario is clear and common! Instead of setting images as slide backgrounds, we at Slider Revolution use image layers to gain more control and flexibility over the positioning across different device views.
      Here's how you can do it:
      Remove the Background Image: Firstly, clear your slide's main background image so it's just the color/gradient or whatever non-image setting you prefer.
      Add Image as a Layer: Add your image as an image layer on the slide. This way, it acts like an image, but you get more control over its size and position.
      Adjust Layer for Different Devices: On the Slider Revolution interface, you'll see icons representing different devices: Desktop, Notebook, Tablet, and Mobile. Click on each one to see how your slide (and the image layer) appears on each device.
      Reposition for Mobile: For your particular scenario, when you click on the 'Mobile' icon, move and adjust the size of your image layer so that the two people are centered or positioned as you desire. The beauty is that these changes won't affect how the image appears on other device views.
      This method allows for granular control, ensuring each device view provides the optimal user experience. It's our go-to approach for scenarios just like the one you've described!
      Hope that helps! If you need any further guidance, feel free to ask or check out our detailed tutorials.

    Loving the new setup. How are the default screen sizes determined? The reason I ask is I have both a 27" iMac and a 15" MacBook Pro and my slider are being displayed differently from one to another, although the default setting state anything above 1024px should respond to the Desktop Mode.

    • @SliderRevolution
      @SliderRevolution  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paul, the module "Layer Area Sizes" don't necessarily represent all notebooks, tablets, etc. Instead, they're just estimated numbers based on the average sizes for the devices. So it's possible your device's resolution technically falls under the "laptop" breakpoint as opposed to the "tablet" when it is horizontally viewed. Kindly send us an email to help@themepunch.support and we'll check your slider setup.

      Hi, you should set the background image size like we described in this doc article: www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/slide-background/#image , in order to keep the aspect ratio you can either select "auto" (The background image is displayed in its original size) or "cover" (Resizes the background image to cover the entire container, even if it has to stretch the image or cut a little bit off one of the edges, but respects the ratio). Hope this could help!

    Why is this so incredibly hard? Only thing I'm trying to do is make sure that the right part of a cover image is shown in the right responsive mode. I have a background image with a cyclist on the left and I want that cyclist to be shown in every single mode (desktop, notebook, tablet and mobile). The only thing I want from this slider is that I can move the blue rectangular area so that I can select the right part of the image: the part where the cyclist is located in the picture.
    Now the blue rectangle is exactly in the middle of the image, so that the subject (the cyclist on the extreme left of the image) is only visible in Desktop mode (as this is the only mode where the entire background image is shown). In the other modes, I only see the green grass and the hills at the right from the cyclist. Moving the blue area would solve my problem straight away, where as now I keep looking for a good solution and it's taking me hours and hours.

    Funny how this toutorial conveniently ignores the complete inflexibility of the background image between screen sizes. Readjusting the position of the background image (i.e. always showing the hiker), because your screen cropping always happens from the centre is vital.

    • @SliderRevolution
      @SliderRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video uses an example slider and does not focus on the hiker, we could have used any background image here. We recommend building your slider depending on your (responsive) requirements. E. g. I would not use a slide background image if the hiker was my priority but a layer for the hiker. There are a few videos now covering the topic of responsivity in our channel, maybe the concept will become clearer in one of these?

    Hi there, I'm loving your videos and especially, the fact that you reply to user's queries!!
    Let me see if I got this straight:
    The only way to resize a background image and manipulate how it shows on different devices is uploading different versions of it as image layers and fiddling with device visibility or simply shrinking/enlarging the same image if that works good for us - right?
    Am I wrong in understanding also that using a background image NOT as a layer, you can not manipulate what portions of it are visible by device??
    Thank you for verifying this confusing part for me..!!

      @@SliderRevolution Thanks for your reply! I've already checked it out.
      My only small objections to the toggle on/off device visibility is the extra load of imgs this will have on the slider and site as a whole. If it's a small slider, (2-4 imgs), that's not such a big deal, but anything more than that, with extra imgs targeted to different devices, it can quickly amass - let alone become a little confusing. All images show together as transparent when visibility is off, rather than just the image for that particular device!
      Is there a way to hide others that are not meant to show while viewing and setting up a particular device?
      Thank you very much for all your help!
