Clarkson-era Top Gear was successful because any two of them could take the piss out of the remaining one at any point in time over any aspect of car life. A proper friend group that we could all relate to. Banter is amazing to watch as long as the people actually have chemistry other than "we're the presenters".
Also they were professional motoring journalists who know the car industry inside out so any opinions they held felt genuine and reliable and lots of the humour is funnier when you have good car knowledge. For example, when one of them turns up with a stupid car to a challenge, there was actually a genuine reason it was chosen beyond comedic value: May brings 850R to Africa - The best and somewhat obscure version of the ubiquitous estate car that famously raced in BTCC (on road). Clarkson builds 3 story motorhome on the back of a citroen - Because it has trick air suspension and the ride height can be lowered. May brings Suzuki Samurai to Bolivia - Jokey little toy off roader that is actually notoriously great off road Paddy Mcguinness would just turn up to every challenge with some variant of an Escort because he had one back when he had hair
I honestly think you would make an excellent top gear host, as long as Taylor and friends went with you. You guys are the most entertaining car show I have found since the fab three quit. Always manage to make me laugh😂.
So here's the thing. When I started watching CT I loved it because it was like TopGear but for the working man. Watching Clarkson fly around the world in exotic cars was amazing. But watching your nurburgring challenges for example is something I could actually do so its far more relatable. Also the chemistry between everyone at either CT or AutoAlex is amazing, I truly think shows like these are about the cast, not the cars. And your cast is amazing, if you guys had a bigger budget and took 3 miatas through the Australian outback you'd overthrow Top Gear instantly
Car Throttle and Auto Alex are good because they’re authentic. Top Gear was long stale before jezza et al left. It was more and more scripted/staged and inauthentic. Car guys like car guys. Driving round Scotland or Africa in a pug 106 is far more interesting to far more people than whatever new £25m koenningsegg they’ve made
Tavarish has shown yet again what a class act he is. Attentive, smart and follows four rules in life. R1, shut the fu*k up R2, listen R3, understand R4, respond. If you can't to the first three, go back to one. There is a reason why he has done so well. He pays attention at a level most will never get. He delivers at a top level, apparently effortlessly. He's an endearing fella.
He met loads of UK motoring personalities and I follow quite a few of them, they were without exception really positive about his character. Nice dude.
I didn’t like the way they kept pushing about ‘oh so it is all about the money?’ But if we’re honest we’d all do jobs that we’d hate if we were offered obscene life changing amounts of money to sacrifice 2/3 years of your life knowing you could literally whatever you wanted for the rest of your life without having to think about money. All of them love what they do but you know in the back of their mind they still also have to consider the finances of videos/car projects/shows
Alex, Taylor and Rory are my new top gear, the only thing I watch religiously. When you consider the dynamics of the both channels AA and AAV2, with the main content and v2 having other outtakes and snippets of pods, along with the chemistry, it just works. I can’t put my finger on it, but it has got that nostalgic but new age feel
I think Alex said the right thing in sticking to where he is and building it up further, as Top gear is a totally different job. However, I also think no one can save Top gear unless they bring back Clarkson, Hammond and May. They are the original three and carry the Top Gear name.
I worked behind the scenes of Top Gear for a few series. Honestly the team had a very similar personality to you Alex, to be honest I saw the buzz around the whole crew and everyone was like a family. You would have fitted in well. But yeah the red tape and high Vis jackets did sometimes take the fun out of it
I think the magic of top gear not only came from the chemistry between the presenters, but the writers also. Like Tavarish said the presenters were all writers themselves, alongside the talented writing team at the BBC, it all gelled together perfectly. They could craft stories that allowed a car enthusiast audience and a normal audience to watch along together and both be entertained. Plus the presenters had time to develop their chemistry, watching back old episodes that wouldn't have been viewed by many, you get the same feeling from watching the newer generation episodes with a little bit of awkwardness as they were trying new ideas and seeing what worked, you can even see Hammond try and move onto other topics in the studio when Clarkson said something out of pocket, 😂 Clarkson being so unapologetic though helped curb that feeling. His way of presenting was very unconventional for most BBC shows at the time, it gave Top Gear a unique identity and helped it stand out from so many other car shows. I think if they hired three presenters together or three people who have done creative projects together in the past, I think they could bring back top gear in a more successful way. That natural chemistry was what the casual audience needed to stay hooked and I think would really help with the story telling.
Having watched all of your auto car Alex videos can I give props to how high quality the show is from filming to editing and now the podcasts with great setting and sound quality hopefully you guys keep riding this train and hopefully it goes well as this is replacing the hole of content missed from Top gear and grand tour not being the same level they were well done Alex and crew for all the hard work and hope you read this comment and smile on the love we all send for your content.
Always bugs me when people say popular TH-cam'rs should 'get a TV show' or 'replace XYZ'. They're successful already and on a platform that is far larger than those now, that they know and have put a huge amount of effort into already, with a far wider and more dedicated audience. I personally see being sucessful on TH-cam as far better than being on TV.
You are not wrong, but there is one thing that makes most people asked reconsider: The $$$$. Remember, Chris Harris said he would be extremely wary of doing it berfore he got the job because of the probable negative backlash, unless they made him (already a quite wealthy man) an offer so good he couldnt refuse it. And now, there he is...
But you have to remember although his youtube channel was doing well, it wasn't absolutely huge. He would definitely have earned more from the bbc than he would have done if he stayed on doing youtube and press stuff. The same can't be said for other, bigger car youtubers where their income from ad revenue and sponsors would dwarf what chris was making pre top gear@@GoldenCroc
@@OwainF Yes, I know, but Chris Harris was for sure a millionaire before top gear, and surely never had to go hungry. What most people and statistically would be considered "quite wealthy" in the UK. BBC is up front money and steady paycheck most people would be envious of while you have the job. I am not saying he should take it, I am saying I seriously doubt he would turn the money and opportunity down if offered it.
yeah it just doesn't come anywhere near. plus when it got going(the iteration with clarkson, hammond and may, they had good editors and good camera crew that was rare in that space, it was the combination of everything in that which made it a global phenomena that brought bbc countless amounts of money that then enabled them to go all balls out with it. the latter iterations try to copy that but with production not understanding it, just trying to get that same amount of popularity to get the money.. so bean counters enter it as well in the production to make it 'safe' but failing it..
I’ve been listening on Spotify but it’s also nice to see the facial expressions and gestures. Would you consider doing a full length upload after the smaller excerpts?
when Clarkson or hammond especially talked about a car you feld the love they had for cars. one of the best examples is Jeremy talking about the alfa Romeo disco volante. that for me at least was the moment I fell in love with cars
Clearly an unpopular opinion but I genuinely enjoy Flintoff, McGuinness and Harris. Is it as good as the original trio no, but it's a hell of a lot better than the other attempts. You can tell the three of them get on well, also have to bare in mind Covid very much ruined their early episodes which was the opportunity to showcase themselves. Freddie is so natural in front of a camera due to years of being in the public spotlight both cricket and other TV shows (ALOTO), Paddy is a born presenter, funny, charismatic can both take and make a joke and also has a passion for cars. Then there's Chris who as you say lives and breathes cars which for the true car enthusiasts is a joy to watch! But all in all I think they do (/did depending on what's happening with Freddie) a very very good job
I love the new crew. To me they bring back the old vibes I used to get from watching Clarkson and crew 10 years ago. As much as I love Clarkson, Hammond and May, it's pretty stale seeing the same stuff from them over and over. The first time Clarkson slammed his cheap car into Hammond's was hilarious. The 100th time? Not so much.
I can’t blame any of you for being unwilling to exchange your TH-cam careers for TV… what you have all created is just fantastic. I barely watch TV at all now… I can’t remember the last time I did. I watch your content regularly and I love it. Incidentally, I think Chris Harris is brilliant on top gear, and Flintoff and McGuinness complement him very well. They’re never going to be Clarkson, Hammond and May, Top Gear was more about their comical interactions than cars under their reign. Harris, Flintoff and McGuinness did work well together though, and if they weren’t being compared to Clarkson, Hammond and May, nobody would question the quality of their work.
As a team, I would say yes ... don't get me wrong, you would smash it, but what you lads have got now is another level.. the content you bring again is something else that top gear couldn't and wouldn't provide. it just wouldn't be the same. Keep at it, lads 💪
Brace yourself: Positive comment incoming! I was an early subscriber to Autoalex after you left the other channel, which I was a big fan of. I have to say the dynamic between you three is totally on par with the camaraderie that the original TG hosts had. The fun factor is massive and Taylor is a star! Love the big camp lump! There's a future idea, 'Camp-er vans', as camp as you can make them! Onto Freddie, who is the most genuine and nicest 'star' on youtube, He's such a great guy and his vids are brilliant. Finally, where is the Nurburgring video you shits!!!
That's not accurate. If you have watched any of the top gear/grand tour interviews with the 3 boys you'd know this easily. They decide what to do with input from the production especially as the executive producer is their friend (Andy Wilman). This is one of the biggest reasons they are so successful. The other is they are mates not just presenters which makes their banter and chemistry so good.
Havent watched top gear since clarkson and Co left. Grand tour .. every episode. Nobody will beat their chemistry and banter. Watching this TH-cam channel is the next best thing. For sure
as much as i love this channel, i would definitely love to see you and taylor and rory in Top gear, when the famous trio retires i can't think of a better legacy to be honest
Andy Newman was a big part of that Top Gear magic, which obviously got transferred to The Grand Tour. I've felt some of that magic between Alex and Taylor on the main channel, the caravan-ing and the Transit episodes to mention a couple were really good!
No what he really should do is getting on with the buying selling car challenge bought the s4 to trade up to better cars and it’s just sat there another TH-cam blagger
Harris is genuinely funny in his own right, and has the ability to bring a car review to life with insight and a smattering of well-timed humour. Forcing him to play a Hammond and May hybrid was painful. But, he chose to do it sooooo......
I long ago fell out of love with Top Gear. As soon as I realised that they'd spend half the airtime roaming the world in brand new exotic Astons and Lambos and Ferraris (and that was during the later years of the Clarkson triumbrant) and less and less time on cars that are actually obtainable for ordinary peeps. Do you want to know why I like the Autoalex channel? It's because you love cars. You don't chase after the cars that garner all the kudos (except your unfathomable obsession with BMWs [Alex stops reading]); the expensive and pointless EVs, the supercars and the luxury stuff, you love the cars that ordinary people live with every day and you love to keep them going. THAT is what real life motoring is about So thank you, and keep up the good work.
I reckon the way to tell if someone is a true 'car nut' is to ask if they would still be interested if they didn't have the money they do. LeBlanc I think if he never had the fame wouldn't be a car nut. The reason Clarkson, Hammond and May were so good is because they had the same passion for an old Volvo estate or Suzuki Super Carry as they do for a multi-million super car. They still talk with the same enthusiasm. That's, for me, what made them great.
The BBC really needs to be bold and modern to its approach to the next season of top gear. I think it should collab with some of the best car content makers on TH-cam having each episode presented by a selection of 3 TH-camrs. Top Gear is such a precious institution to car folk that despite the constraints and lack of funding, guys such as yourselves would do it with pride I reckon. And providing you get a say on what you do in the episode (you are all creative content makers after all) would have a good laugh in the process and definitely boost your subscriber figures. Each episode would be so different that it would also deal with that comparison factor that you elude to about presenters who have come beforehand. The cartrek trio would probably have to go together but maybe Alex, Mat Watson and Mike Brewer could go together? Dunno. I think it would be mint to see the old fifth gear crew back together on top gear too (Tiff, Vikki and Jonny). Thoughts?! 🤔
Honestly, Freddie, Paddy and Chris were making a pretty good Top Gear. Best we've had since Jeremy, James and Richard. I think you could do something bigger and longer, but I agree that Top Gear isn't really for you.
Honestly think you guys would be amazing on topgear if you where given the chance to do it your way and you had taylor and friends with you your what is needed true car fans and dynamic team.
Ngl Alex id rather watch you Freddie and matt Armstrong everyday with new adventures and race etc etc than watch new top gear. So what you’ve got going on now is gold. 🤘🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@bmxaholic7600 when they did the cheap car challenge I was in tears of laughter and the best thing is that it was so natural, no written scripts yet they had us completely captivated.
I think a Top Gear youtuber cast that would be immensely entertaining would be Tavarish, Alex, and William Chandler (from Overdrive/Driver61). I enjoy most-all of the personalities in those circles, but I feel those three would be the most standout as a formula. Ethan coming at things from a non-car person's perspective was an interesting idea, but that sort of formula really required someone with a bit more boisterous energy.
AutoAlex, CarThrottle, AgingWheels, Hoovies Garage, James May 'solo', the MKBHD team, Alex from Linus Tech Tips, Jonny Smith with or without Richard Porter, Jalopnik's Jason, you could even add Kai W for the videographic/photographic top-gear-esque banter, and Peter McKinnon for cinematic greatness. There's so many people out there who could work together and make an entertaining, yet informative car show, be it on TV or on on TH-cam. Maybe like the old Fifth Gear style, where not all hosts were presenting every episode, but were being called in for certain topics. Top Gear has no qualities that something like that would have.
2nd gen top = car throttle = autoalex combined with grand tour vibes on a smaller scale with often less budget that's what makes it relatable to most men just like top gear. A couple of friend having fun fixing shit whilst ripping the absolute piss out of each whilst being supportive but at the same time often leaving 1 member to fend for themselves.
To a lot of people Top Gear is Clarkson Hammond and May, no one else will do. I personally really quite like the Harris Flintoff McGuinness trio, but Harris carries it for me being a proper car guy. Saying that though, ive not watched a full series of TG since the host started changing about, and dont particularly follow the Grand Tour anymore. It was epic when I was young, but tastes and interests change as you get older
Alex, tavarish and either Taylor or Rory Reid. Full freedom . Would be like top gear reborn. You 3 already like the Clarkson may and hammond of the new generation
It kinda needs to be said that in the Top Gear three car challenge format paved the way for a lot of TH-cam challenges. I would say that peak TG was during the naughties when the budget was alot less and they didn't need to script quite so much. I love channels like autoalex, car throttle (and many others) and I think one reason why is the budgets are relatively low, still relies on the vehicles and the passion of the creators, as was the case with TG in those early days.
The problem with modern Top Gear is that nobody is the can truly replicate the chemistry and personalities of the trio, Clarkson, Hammond and May are such a phenomenon, i genuinely think it’s truly impossible to get a top gear on the level of of “old top gear” it was simply a different animal to any other motoring show, it was never about the cars, it was 3 mates doing stupid stuff together, you can’t take 3 random people and put them together and just expect them to be funny, it also doesn’t help that the people they did get (aside from Chris Harris) just didn’t work, they were so wooden and robotic, it seemed like they simply didn’t have the heart or the passion that the trio did, I can’t think of a single quotable moment in the new series, but I always remember a hilarious quote from old top gear, from “Take the third reich” to “I went on the internet and I found this” Top Gear simply cannot be replicated by anyone else
Enjoyed the vid it would the 5th reincarnation ,but being so young you may have forgotten or unaware that the original TOP GEAR was genuine car show, with likes of Tiff Needell , Quinten Wilson, Jeremy Clarkson, Vicki Butler-Henderson etc....even Angela Rippon!
The thing with clarkson, may and hammonds top gear was the fact that almost all the dumb/silly things they done were original. That's a lot to do with why it was so memorable.
I think the next series of top gear should feature a different TH-camr on each show. Doing a crazy challenge as we all know and love. Keep it fresh and bang upto date ✌🏽
No one can replace the lost show in our hearts. It needs to be an all English team. People who don't sound depressed and what what does the world owe me. That's a good start.
None of the presenters since clarkson may an Hammond have that special connection it’s like Morecambe an wise they are entertainment legends these types of shows can’t just be forcefully manufactured its a gift that doesn’t happen often to be honest Alex an your group are closest entertainment/presenters plus mates being mates helping each other out sometimes when not wanted too keep it up I’m sure the future will bring something probably not top gear but something similar with the right people
I grew up with a dream of being a presenter, mainly for the likes of Top Gear, but if I was in the position on Alex or Tavarish I would maybe only take the top gear role for maybe some financial stability. I would still have the same terms as Tavarish in regards to his own personal youtube channel.
all members of trio had their "own thing" "own ideas" and they argued over it. that felt like a true friendship. Moments where they were at pub arguing over which cabrio at the time was better (s2k-boxter-z4 episode) those moments are the best moments of topgear. if they were to offer me gazillion dollars i wouldnt take that seat. nobody got that ass which can fill that seat
You would be amazing for top gear ..these other people dont know what they doing except Harris..i think u would be the next big thing next to the old top gear legends
Top Gear will never reach the heights it did with Clarkson et al again. And it wouldn't matter who was presenting, it still never will. For the simple reason, broadcast media is dead. It's limping along based on a generation who grew up with it becoming the centre-piece of life. That's no longer true, will unlikely ever be true again, and as such a broadcast TV show in the UK will never see those highs again.
The current three are the best they’ve had since clarkson and co left. What the beeb fail to understand is that they cannot replicate that chemistry and the cxripting needs to be kept to the bare minimum. Clarkson, Hammond and may loved cars and loved making a story come alive. Harris - brilliant car guy, and have followed his career as I have several others, including Meaden, prior, sutcliffe, etc. I tuned into the three old geezers for the same reason I loved Chris tarrant breakfast show and mayo’s drive time show.
Jeremy James and Richard will always be top gear for me, and so many people have TH-cam channels about cars because they probably watch them and thought I want to do that when I am older and then TH-cam gave them the platform to do it
As a 28 year old man I will fully admit I get the same if not more excitement from seeing a notification telling me that you have uploaded a new video as I did waiting for 8pm Sunday night 6 weeks a year. My honest opinion is, yes of course you would be an excellent presenter on top gear; but like you say, it would be just trying to reboot a dying brand. Driving brand new super cars as a job would be absolutely fantastic… But let’s face it, it’s just not you, you like in your own words “shit boxes” just like 90% of your subscribers! Keep smashing it dude
Any plans to put the full podcast on here instead of random chunks from it? Whenever any podcast is available on TH-cam, I'll always prefer it here. I would have thought there are more revenue opportunities here than on the podcast platforms anyway.
The biggest problem with top gear in any country was that they didn’t always have true “car guys” as presenters. They just had celebrities from other genres who liked cars & that’s never going to work after the original three, who to their credit, had already accrued many years of presenting cars before they even started top gear. TH-cam presenters like Jason Camissa, Chris Harris, Jonny Smith (to name just a few) have been releasing content that’s every bit as slick as anything top gear or the grand tour have done for a fraction of the budget. Good content doesn’t have to cost millions or deliberately set Ferraris on fire to get views from real car guys.
I do love your channel and what you’re doing but I also love this iteration of Top Gear with Chris, Andrew and Paddy now that the Chris Evans car crash is out the way. I did love Matt le Blanc tho, he was great and there was chemistry with him and Chris.
Let's also not forget that, while most of us can enjoy the older series, it wasn't until around Season 8-10 that TG really took off. None of the follow-ups have had that long.
Clarkson-era Top Gear was successful because any two of them could take the piss out of the remaining one at any point in time over any aspect of car life. Yea it wasnt the same when Ethan was the punching bag,
Exactly, it will take years for the young generations not to remember them so as they can appreciate a new top gear-it’s too soon now

As much as I love Clarkson, Hammond and May, it's pretty stale seeing the same stuff from them over and over. The first time Clarkson slammed his cheap car into Hammond's was hilarious. The 100th time? Not so much.
Alex, Chris Harris, and Matt (Carwow)
OR
Throttle house guys and Matt (Carwow)
Would make a great show together on Top Gear
I’ve watched Alex for years and this is by far by fave channel on you tube.
Plus these guys talking just like you and your friends love it ❤
I can’t blame any of you for being unwilling to exchange your TH-cam careers for TV… what you have all created is just fantastic.
Finally, where is the Nurburgring video you shits!!!
your to good for top gear Alex, carry on doing what your doing, you make us laugh, give us advice etc etc, what more could we want?
The caravan episode made me cry with laughter you are worthy of top gear guys 100% ❤
Freddie’s doing the podcast rounds I see. Like him. Great guy.
Auto Alex over top gear always, your videos are truly entertaining. You Rorey and Taylor are brilliant
Do not forget the man behind the scenes... Andy Wilman was definitely the fourth musketeer... He is a huge part of the Top Gear success...
Its refreshing to hear you say that you don't like to be scripted, Alex. It's how shows like this should be!
I love watching your podcast, think you should do full episodes
Chris Harris, Calvin's car diary and Ethan from car throttle would be the dream top gear line up
Really loving these podcast style shows, great stuff.
Jason Plato, Chris Harris and Alex would make a good trio for Top Gear
Tiff Needell always best presenter and car guy top great ever had.
The episode of Tiff ripping the new M5 sideways was epic.
Havent watched top gear since clarkson and Co left. Grand tour .. every episode. Nobody will beat their chemistry and banter. Watching this TH-cam channel is the next best thing. For sure
8:30 - That would be a fun idea, Tavarish making an AutoAlex video and Alex making a Tavarish video.
as much as i love this channel, i would definitely love to see you and taylor and rory in Top gear, when the famous trio retires i can't think of a better legacy to be honest
I love the v2 podcast chats on the sofa ❤😊
Andy Newman was a big part of that Top Gear magic, which obviously got transferred to The Grand Tour. I've felt some of that magic between Alex and Taylor on the main channel, the caravan-ing and the Transit episodes to mention a couple were really good!
*Andy Wilman
You should upload the full podcast videos to TH-cam and have this be your podcast clips channel.
Make top gear great again. Go for it Alex!!
The biggest issue with the newer Top Gears is the complete lack of genuine camaraderie
THAT is what real life motoring is about
So thank you, and keep up the good work.
Rory and Chris are 2 of the best top gear presenters ever!
Only Alex and crew would chop a podcast into 6 different uploads for views and click bait. Top work lads
Chris Harris, Sideways Sid & Ricky From LLF. Thats the combo that can grab a new generation. Add Shmee150 in as well
The BBC really needs to be bold and modern to its approach to the next season of top gear. Thoughts?! 🤔
I have listened to both podcasts already and will still watch this but is there going to be any other content coming on this channel.
Honestly, Freddie, Paddy and Chris were making a pretty good Top Gear. Best we've had since Jeremy, James and Richard. I think you could do something bigger and longer, but I agree that Top Gear isn't really for you.
There not even famous enough for top gear there just flexing there own are* holes
The thing is some TH-camrs are better known than TV stars now.
Matt Armstrong, Freddie and Alex would be the best trio for the next top gear 100%
I thought this mat the serious one alex the short one and feddie the American that would definitely work they would all go of each ithers energy too
@bmxaholic7600 when they did the cheap car challenge I was in tears of laughter and the best thing is that it was so natural, no written scripts yet they had us completely captivated.
I shall concur and say no I wouldn’t either, 10 years ago I’d be tempted, I even applied for the job myself but not anymore.
Hope you guys put the full episodes on TH-cam sometime. Always prefer a podcast with the bonus of seeing the people speaking
Spotify allows to post a podcast with a video, like Foster does. Would also be cool to have
2nd gen top = car throttle = autoalex combined with grand tour vibes on a smaller scale with often less budget that's what makes it relatable to most men just like top gear.
Alex, Tavarish & Chris Harris - winning Top Gear combo :D
Alex, Taylor and Rory, new Top-Gear cast set. 👍😊
Alex, Matt & Tavarish would be awesome but their channels are far superior 👌🏻😎
Always said you should have been the host of top gear alex! 🎉
AutoAlex IS the new TopGear. AutoAlex is just a fun to watch as the Clarkson, Hammond and May era of TopGear.
Id love to see you host, as long as you're able to pay homage to the triumvirate...
The thing with clarkson, may and hammonds top gear was the fact that almost all the dumb/silly things they done were original. That's a lot to do with why it was so memorable.
Paddy killed Top Gear for me
I think the next series of top gear should feature a different TH-camr on each show. Doing a crazy challenge as we all know and love. Keep it fresh and bang upto date ✌🏽
No one can replace the lost show in our hearts. It needs to be an all English team. People who don't sound depressed and what what does the world owe me. That's a good start.
None of the presenters since clarkson may an Hammond have that special connection it’s like Morecambe an wise they are entertainment legends these types of shows can’t just be forcefully manufactured its a gift that doesn’t happen often to be honest Alex an your group are closest entertainment/presenters plus mates being mates helping each other out sometimes when not wanted too keep it up I’m sure the future will bring something probably not top gear but something similar with the right people
To be totally sincere - Alex, Reid, Brewer would be a legendary Top Gear line up.
I grew up with a dream of being a presenter, mainly for the likes of Top Gear, but if I was in the position on Alex or Tavarish I would maybe only take the top gear role for maybe some financial stability. I would still have the same terms as Tavarish in regards to his own personal youtube channel.
Good lad u have got this far on your own bugger the main stream
Your content is far better than anything on main stream tv. Because it’s real. The new top gear is only bearable because of Chris Harris.
TV is dead you would be mad to leave this. In a few years this channel will be huge!
if you don't get onto top gear ill riot in front of the BBC
all members of trio had their "own thing" "own ideas" and they argued over it. that felt like a true friendship.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel! 😂😂😂 Genuinely laughed my head off!
love the vids alex
I absolutely agree with Alex
Post Clarkson era Top Gear, Matt Le Blanc, Rory and Chris Harris was the best combo, what does everyone else think?
Top Gear will never reach the heights it did with Clarkson et al again. And it wouldn't matter who was presenting, it still never will. For the simple reason, broadcast media is dead. It's limping along based on a generation who grew up with it becoming the centre-piece of life. That's no longer true, will unlikely ever be true again, and as such a broadcast TV show in the UK will never see those highs again.
Would you do wheeler dealers instead?
PS did you get the Gulf barrel at Bicester? I have one too. 👍
Top gear is an old medium where channels like auto Alex seems slicker
To Be Honest....
I watch Tavarish because of Jack,
And i watch Alex because of Taylor!
Sometimes the Sidekick becomes the master.....😮😅
The current three are the best they’ve had since clarkson and co left. What the beeb fail to understand is that they cannot replicate that chemistry and the cxripting needs to be kept to the bare minimum. Clarkson, Hammond and may loved cars and loved making a story come alive. Harris - brilliant car guy, and have followed his career as I have several others, including Meaden, prior, sutcliffe, etc. I tuned into the three old geezers for the same reason I loved Chris tarrant breakfast show and mayo’s drive time show.
Jeremy James and Richard will always be top gear for me, and so many people have TH-cam channels about cars because they probably watch them and thought I want to do that when I am older and then TH-cam gave them the platform to do it
I'd like to throw Jason Camisa (ex-Motortrend) into that mix....
I must say though… Alex, Johnny Smith & Chris Harris would be MEGGA!
None of the follow-ups have had that long.
i think a few of us can agree in saying that this AutoAlex channel is the modern day topgear
