I’m currently doing N1 & I’m working on transitioning in to uni but I’m not sure how the application process works, what N level do you use to obtain provisional acceptance & is it necessary to add two more subjects (business English, & a native language) if you’ve already did them in your NSC can’t you just combine them with your N3

    • @BongekileR

    Hi, I hope you are well.
    I would like to know what are the benefits of a trade test?
    Can someone with an N6 in Mechanical Engineering apply to just go do a BTech rather than doing a trade test? Are the benefits of a BTech greater than those of a trade test?
    I am also stuck in between whether going for training after my N6 in Mech, or just applying to go study for a BTech. Could you please advice me.

    • @BongekileR
      @BongekileR  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can’t just move from N6 to do B Tech, You must first go for 18 months in service training, after N6, in order to obtain your Diploma then you can go do your BTech in Varsity.
      With a trade test you become a qualified artisan, then with a B Tech you become something more than an artisan.

    • @robertmoshobane1649
      @robertmoshobane1649 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am a bit conflicted because it says I can use my N3 results to apply to go to a university. And I currently have my N6 now.
      So I am asking, would it be best to just apply to university with my N3 results and go do a Btech or do the 18 months of training to get a Diploma then go to university to get a Btech?

    • @BongekileR
      @BongekileR  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you go to varsity after N3 or grade12 or NCV Level 4, you will do a diploma then B Tech after obtaining your diploma. You don’t go straight to do B Tech.

    • @BongekileR

      It is wise, as long as the child is positive that that’s the direction they would like to take and they’re ready. TVET Colleges are tertiary institutions filled with young and old people so a child as young as 14/15 will need some sort of guidance just to make sure that they’re well prepared for such an environment.

      You can apply at a university using N6 alone. But if you want to do a degree/Btech you will have to obtain your N diploma first, which means that after N6 you will go for the 18 months in service training and graduate before going to university.

    Will they make me start from n1-n3 or I can start at n3/n2?

    • @BongekileR
      @BongekileR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the College requirements, some do let you start from N2 as long as you did Maths and Science or are coming from a technical high school. With engineering. However if you want to study something else besides engineering then you will have to start from NCV because other courses start from N4-N6, which is Diploma, so they strictly require that you complete your grade 12 first.
