Están en proceso de retíralos, sin embargo, en México no es fácil, debido a cuestiones legales. Compañías del gobierno como CFE, han rentado los postes y parte de la infraestructura a compañías privadas como TV por cable, internet, comunicaciones etc etc etc. y muchos de esos si bien ya no son funcionales, los contratos que aún están vigentes tienen muchas cláusulas y algunos vencen hasta 2036. Por lo que, se tienen que negociar con los contratantes, algunos han negociado y otros se niegan a hacerlo, por lo que se han perdido muchas oportunidades.
