GREAT well thought out and presented video for those who my be going that way but 98% of us will not be going . we DO love seeing the sights through your eyes . thanks for all your hard work
I through Flores in 1988 from east to west. I found it utterly fascinating and engaging. I was a solo traveller but met up with the same people in the losmen (hostels) and on bemo buses. The scenery was incredible and the people were also friendly and fascinating. The volcanos and mountains were so picturesque. I tried to see Komodo dragons on the north coast of Flores but no one would take me as they said it was too dangerous for any guide. So I dd go through Labuan Bajo to Komodo. This was before email and mobile phones and Google Maps. And before TH-cam. I'm planning on revisiting Flores in 2025 so searched fir your video - thank you. A lot of memories came flooding back. Ah Indonesia 🇮🇩
Wow! What an incredible travel experience you had in the 80's - seeing a place like that is a lot harder to do these days (We've actually never been so off-grid) - It sounds like such an incredible adventure! I really hope your re-visit to Flores in 2025 is Awesome!
You can couchsurf easily in Indonesia... Done it in Java, Sulawesi and Kalimantan... Also hitchhiked... Never joined any tours, always went with locals...Flores is planned but I'm not a big beach or diving fan...so I'm thinking Sumatra next winter. Anyway, cool video 😎
Thank you so much. This is wonderful. I'm now looking forward to going there. Have subscribed so l can see where else you travel, l loved it that much. ❤

*Please do a travel series in the Philippines* 🇵🇭 🙏 Beautiful city skylines of BGC to the Gatorade blue waters of Cebu and Bohol and more islands in the south to the sea of clouds up north in the green mountains. Most special is the warmth of the Filipino people who will welcome you during your stay!*
PS - I first saw your video at the rocky mountaineer vlogs where you lost your beanie but beautiful experience to see the Canadian nature it seemed. I also loved your Peru at the skylodge (or starlodge?) cliff side accommodation. You two take us to many places ❤ thank you so much!
Hello guys! You're videos are amaing! a fiew weeks i'm going to indonesia and i would like to do the cruise for 2/3 days. do you have any suggestion ? start in labuan bajo
No you can't. It's monitor lizard. Not dangerous. Ifyou get bitten by Komodo Dragon, You will get died soon because of the venom. Komodo Is the name of Regency in Indonesia. So Komodo Dragon means dragon from Komodo Area. If it in Malaysia you call it Malaysia Dragon. 🙈
Love the video! Think they are saying puttih instead of bully. Puttih means white.. they don’t mean it in a racial way, they just don’t know better yet

Same here. Did some extensive travelling/backpacking during the 90's all over Indonesia and Flores will remain one of my favourites.
Took a small boat from gili to flores 30 years ago. Stopped a few times at flores villages. Really primitive, fascinating.
That's super cool, must have been a bumpy journey!
Thanks a lot for the video!
Really helpful whoever is planning for Komodo Island.
😊 were so glad!

great! :) your welcome!
wild adventure
Honestly is!
great video, thanks. we are thinking of heading there in a couple weeks. was it really touristy or does it still feel a bit off beaten track ? thanks
relative to Bali it feels WELL off the beaten path haha, but to be honest these days tourists are everywhere.
@JordanandEmily Thanks for replying ! yeah trying to decide between sulawesi and flores - flores just seems a bit more easy to plan
is it good to explore floras solo or its like good to go with couples. and is one week is enough for flores.
We went as a couple so not sure about solo - I did feel safe everywhere though. I think one week would be fine!

Hello guys! You're videos are amaing! a fiew weeks i'm going to indonesia and i would like to do the cruise for 2/3 days. do you have any suggestion ? start in labuan bajo
there are plenty to choose from! honestly it depends on how comfortable you want to be haha!
Which one did you choose? Private room?
is there grab/gojek?
There wasn't on Flores when we were there! It was developing quickly though, I wouldn't be suprised if it's starting there!
Actually Bali Birdpark...has a dragon...and the lizards in the Philippines is huge too...
So yeah...😂😂😂
What!? Haha the internet lied to us
It’s not the only place where you can see the Komodo dragons , you can see many of them for free in Tioman Island in Malaysia
We didn't know this at all! Haha thank you!
You named it wrong... Monitor lizard not komodo,,, you're welcome
Buffalo and Water Buffalo are different species. They have simillarity. But still different.
@@fnusuryanto7259malaysia punya cecak.....hahahahaahahah

ohhh makes sense! haha
Bullé...slightly derogatory. Just saying😅
Hahaha oh no, is it? 😅 we got it by all the kids hahaha
Looks boring
Nah
I agree Komodo isn't Jurassic Park. But Flores has so many things to see and do. Mate it's not Thailand 😂
