Our pleasure! Thanks for watching and so glad to hear it's working! May try to shorten the cords by splicing so it fits a little better inside. Let us know if you have any other great ideas 👍🏻
I have access to 2500Wh. This would be a great option with the thermostat for my rooftop tent! It's a small one, so it would probably run all night easily😊 I like the electric idea because it won't suffocate you and won't leak gas.
I think I have the same model Bluetti and unfortunately the output is 300w max. I had bought a 350w and it definitely did NOT run lol. Was worth a try. Only complaint is the batteries get dumped really quick with even a tiny heater.
I just got my Bluetti AC200MAX and used a 150W ceramic heater (output shown on Bluetti display was 148W) in my tent on a 50F night, and it ran the full Bluetti out in under 4 hours. SOMETHING went wrong. It's looking like a Bluetti issue, but hard to tell from a single event. I won't leave the Little Buddy behind next time.
@@WheresWiseman I thought I would be completely fine for at least the 6-7 hours of sleep, then woke up at midnight completely freezing. ("Freezing" is relative, but I'm from SoCal and if it gets down to 60F in my house, I'm too cold.) I have some work to do on the trailer this weekend, so I'll set up the heater and 200Max again and see what I get through the day.
@Where's Wiseman So I ran the test yesterday and it doesn't look good. Ran the test for 7 hours, AC Power output, and the display showed 149W output for the entire duration. I took photos every hour-ish. I was using about 11% per hour, which the AC200MAX should be good for ~205W per 10% (205*10=2050). So at a reported 149W usage, I was losing 225W per hour. Test ran from 10am-5pm. At 1pm I was at 66%. At 5pm I only had 28% remaining. 72% should be good for ~1475W, but I had only used 1043W. If I had gone to 0%, it looks like my total usage would have only been about 1500W. (10h*149W). I'll have to run over to HoboTech and Will Prowse and see if they did a full 100% run of the AC200MAX, but a 550W overhead margin seems high. I don;t expect to squeeze every single W/h out of a device, but I expect to get more than 73% of its rating. And as bad as that is, none of the above explains why I got even less than HALF of that performance on my first night out. If any of my numbers seem off, or my math is off, please feel free to correct me. I'm at work and did not proofread any of the above. But it seems like I may need to open a support ticket with Bluetti.
Getting ready to put a deposit on Pica Teardrop and pull with a 2018 Rubicon 2 Door. Just would like your thoughts on how well you like this Teardrop and how wells it pulls with a 2 door Jeep. Any idea what you trailer weighs loaded? Going to add the Propex Heater and Lithium Ion Battery. Any changes you would make with your build? Thanks in advance for response.
Hey Ron! I'm guessing we're usually in the 1300 lb range fully loaded. And we load quite a bit of gear, water, 20 lb propane tank, wood, etc and only occasionally have to slow down to 60 on some steeper interstate hills. Other than that it pulls and handles great! As far as changes, we would definitely add the heater and off-road package (mainly to more closely match our Jeep's stance). And we are going to invest in a 12 volt cooler for the summer 👍🏻 Will be a major convenience. Hope this helps! See you out there soon!
@@WheresWiseman Thanks for the info Matt, really like your channel. I am going with the all-road package right now, my Jeep has 33", would you still suggest the off-road package? We are going with the re-frig and solar panels, still debating on the awning, might install that myself after delivery. Did you pull back seat from Jeep for extra storage?
Thanks, Ron! So glad you're enjoying the channel! The all-road has performed well so far on and off road so can't comment either way on the package. Almost more personal preference unless you're doing some serious wheeling/crawling. We also decided to wait on the awning. We wanted to see how our portable awning would work out and it has been perfect for us. Bring able to move it around the campsite has been beneficial 👍🏻 As far as the backseat, I pulled it out 4 years ago and added a trunk with tie downs on top. It is one of the best investments yet. Has lots of lockable storage when we're out on the road and is removable if you want the backseat back in. We never use the seat though.
Hello, would it be possible to convert from a standard AC plug to a DC (car cigarette lighter) for the heater? That should save you some more battery or allow you to treat yoself to some more heat. I have a 200W folding solar panel I use with my Bluetti AC50s and it can recharge my powerbank in a day with any decent sunlight exposure. I love the thermostat, the min/max in me is curious about the pull on the battery of the thermostat, but that's a fantastic idea!
Was there a lot of condensation in the trailer from this set up? Great video! I'm looking for a solution like this since I don't want to use a Mr. Buddy heater.
Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed it! Actually no! Just a bit on the far side wall and that was it. That was with all the windows shut as well. Good luck with your setup, let us know what you go with and the results 😉
Yo! Electric heat is a dry heat and if anything would make it too dry. Mr Buddy heaters are awful for that because propane puts off a lot moisture. Works okay for weekends for sure. But not for full time.

Thank you for sharing this video. I really like the Lasko heater and the idea of a thermostat to regulate the heat better. However my main concern is with recharging the battery of the Power Station (in this video Bluetti). Here in Canada when it rains or when it is cloudy, Solar Panels are not ideal. For this reason, I was thinking a getting 2 Jackery or Bluetti, 500 Watt-hour; use one for one night, recharge it from the other power station the next day and keep doing these cycles. However after contacting Jackery about this set up, I was told that the Jackery would recharge only to 80% (as opposed to 100% with a 120v wall outlet). So not the best for the second night sleep. So my question is: How do you recharge your Bluetti for maximum power? Thank you so much.
@@marlenemartel9649 Propane heat would be the way to go for long term heat. The unit will still need power but won't use much at all. Tank mounts outside camper and is controlled by thermostat. More tear drop makers are starting to use that system built into the camper.
I have a transit connect van what would be a good power bank and mini heater or heated sleeping bag that would last all night. I am currently in Alaska and would like to travel more in the shoulder seasons
We have a couple great heater options here whereswiseman.com/hvac as well as a thermostat to help conserve power.
