      clubsnapperuk I’ll have to look back at what I did to pair it. Once paired, it’s stored in memory and you never have to do it again. Let me get back to you on this.

      I just looked up what I did and it looks like I used the "pair second phone" feature to pair to the bluetooth radio adapter.

    Hi Matt. Thanks for the video I found it really helpful. I bought a pair of the T=max but had to send them back as they didn't have the boom mic so am waiting on the correct ones now. I am in the middle of making a helmet for paramotoring. I just checked your video list, post some paragliding or paramotoring videos like Tucker lol. Subbed as well. Cheers Gerry

      Hi Gerry, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Let me know how the T-Max works for you. I'll start posting some paramotoring and paragliding videos as soon as I get some cameras.

    Hi Matt, I have a "Bluetooth Wireless Adaptor +PTT Headset for Kenwood TYT BAOFENG UV5R Radio HB-6A" which looks exactly like
    the one in your video and as the one Titanium BullsEye Crew mentioned. Can you explain how you paired it with the Sena? I have the SMH10R, it will say its paired but I can’t hear anything being broadcast or received when I hit PTT so I’m not sure what it’s doing. Did you pair it as a "Multipoint" device or as another Intercom?
    Thanks

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve, I believe I paired mine as a second phone or universal intercom. Your SMH10r should be similar to my 10r. The 10r is the newer model so I'm not entirely sure. Let me know if you sort it out.

    • @stevet9728
      @stevet9728 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soooo, I figured it out! The SMH10R is Bluetooth 3.0. The adapter is 4.1. I was told the 4.1 would "dumb down" to a 2.0 and connect, but apparently that is not the case. Or only to 2.0 and not 3.0. I purchased the 10R (4.1) and paired it as a phone and it works just fine.

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevet9728 I'm glad you sorted that out Steve. I feel so many people are going after the SMH10R because they see it listed on Tucker Gott's site but he is actually using the 10r or bluetooth 4.1 version. The 10r is a much better option. Thanks for updating. I'm glad it was solved.

      @mattkora  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can pair with the phone, radio and another Sena intercom at the same time. You'll need to switch between them though. I forget what button to hold down but you just hold down for a second and it will switch to the next paired device.

    I've been looking also at the Sena system. They do have the Tufftalk hardhat mount that you can also plug a twoway radio into as well. Wondering if you know anything about that.

    Can you listen to music on the 10r and also have the Bluetooth radio? Does the radio transmission interrupt the music or does it all play at once?

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Swift that is a great question. I normally set one or the other. When I have comms going, it’s normally like an open mic with everyone connected. I believe there is a setting to have music and comms going at the same time. If you find out, please let me know.

    • @swift8143
      @swift8143 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How easy is it to switch between radio and music. I guess the hard part is if you are listening to music and someone is trying to talk to you on the radio you wont hear it because the music is on? It's crazy there isn't a better option to do both.

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@swift8143 It's a single touch on the button to switch over from one to the other but you can play music and the comms will stop music when a transmission comes in. That is the way it works with an incoming call or 2-way radio. I assume it's the same with bluetooth comms and music. I just haven't messed with that.

    Hey, I bought that Bluetooth FM PTT adapter for my sena 10R. I have not been successful in getting it to work together with my BaoFeng UV-5R. I figure it should be the same with any FM radio though.
    Could you please share how you were able to get the SENA10R to pair and operate with that FM radio adapter?

    Hi Matt, great video. Have you come across any with Sidetone? I understand the Sena 30,60 and 90k have it but I’m hoping to purchase something a little cheaper. Thanks - Toby

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Toby, Are you referring to the setting that allows you to hear your own voice in the speakers? If so, the 20r has that ability.

    • @tobyware3728
      @tobyware3728 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matt Sikora hi Matt, I am yes. The one thing holding me back from purchasing it is I don’t know whether sidetone is enabled when your off a call, so just normally when it’s on. I’d like it to be on at all times. Thanks Toby

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tobyware3728 From my experience, when it's on, it's on. It doesn't matter what you are connected to. If you speak into the mic, it is audible in the speakers. If you purchase through Amazon, you can always return if it doesn't do what you want it to.

    Hi Matt. So glad to see good info on this. Thanks. Question - - have you tried pairing the Sena with a bluetooth walkie talkie? If you have, did you try the VOX to see if that works reliably over bluetooth?

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff Wilson I didn’t try that specifically. I have my 2M radio with a Bluetooth adapter and that works great. I stay off of using VOX. With motor noise or incoming calls, it’s hard to control when the mic starts broadcasting. If I was paragliding and things were quiet, I probably would use it. Does your Radio “walkie talkie” have bluetooth built in? If so, it should work as long as it can go into pairing mode.

      @@mattkora Hi Matt. Thanks for the response. My last rig had a mic and speakers wired into the helmet and plugged into the wiring on my harness going to my FRS radio. I had a push-to-talk button that I wired onto the throttle. Worked well, but it will be nice to get rid of having the helmet wired to something. I will be buying a new motor and wing in the spring and getting back into the sport, and I'm figuring out the radio stuff while I have this time. I bought a pair of Cobra Bluetooth FRS radios. Looks like they will pair nicely with a Sena, but I don't see a way to put a talk button on my throttle. Having it on the throttle is nice because I can keep both hands on the brakes and still hit the talk button. I was hoping the VOX could be made to work, but wondered if the voice is really louder than the motor noise.....

    • @mattkora
      @mattkora  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffwilson8702 Hi Jeff, This is def a good time to work on it. Have you looked for a wireless PTT button for the Cobra? There may be a wired or wireless version of a PTT for that radio that you could wire up to the throttle. If not, give the VOX a shot. I just found that it didn't work great for me or the people I was linked to during flight. Play with the VOX sensitivity levels to see if you can get it just right.
