    there's nothing "forgotten" about Saab convertibles. They are in fact, iconic, loved and most defiantly remembered.

    GM killed it because they can't build anything like it and they don't like competition. It makes them look bad. Good video.

      No, they killed it because they didn’t sell twice as many as BMW convertibles, which they should of done if it wasn’t for their lame ability to run an auto company...

    I just bought a black convertible 2.0t. 2005 model with 55k miles on it. Love it. Will remap it from 150hp to 220hp. What a car. Most beautiful convertible... Easily.

      @@apurugganan The interior is dark grey leather, and black dash and doors. The saab headrests are cool but I don't have them.

    I had a 98 Saab 900 se turbo convertible. I loved that car. I'm seriously considering getting a 9-3 convertible before the ones that are left have too many miles.

    Easy fix for the exhaust note. Get a muffler delete. It's a really beautiful sound once its gone. It also saves about 200lbs/98Kg

    My 06’ 9-3 Aero still gets compliments… love it!
    It’s always been mechanically sound, but some interior plastics and parts have had to be replaced.

    I just noticed a slight difference with the toneau cover -- your car has it sliding nicely over the trunk (or boot). A 2003 convertible tonneau cover just lifts back while the roof is folding, like a lid or hood. I prefer the sliding action; it's more like 'next level' luxury instead of 'entry level' luxury (Besides, hard top cabrios do it this way)

      Awesome! I am looking to buy one with 116k mi. Have you seen many problems with it since? Any water leakage since it's a convertible?

      The only problem that i see until now is one leak on the Air conditioner pump. But my car is always in the garage, I don’t drive too much, I only drive at weekends and only if is good weather.
      My car have only 75.000km ( 46.600miles)

    Lot of optional extras on that
    2.8 manual is a rarity
    Power folding and power look down
    Mirrors... Most just have one of those options.
    Electric seats... Nice
    Again only one in twenty had this option
    Very nice well cared for saab

    The one thing I would have really loved to see would be a hard top coupe version like they produced in the shape before this... (think of the Viggen)... that would have really looked the bomb! For once I think Saab missed a trick there...

      @@sonofrobert Depends on your point of view.... GM supplied the money & told Saab to rebadge the Vectra & call it the 93, nothing else..... so Saab took the Vectra chassis & changed absolutely everything including the wheelbase lol!

    I had a 2005 aero 4cyl turbo in line Yellow metallic with light grey interior. H&R lowering springs with an ECU tune. Also replaced all switched as well as the key fob. Loved the car but in Ohio, not reasonable in winter, especially with lowering kit. I would buy another. Great value.

      canalfixe stay stock. Looked good but not practical at all. Handling was marginally better but the strut mounts took a beating.

    2007 interior is far better... I got her tunned to 310hp...

      With a car that old it’s important to consider what maintenance has been done besides mileage. Rubber starts to go, but it’s not an expensive fix.

    And what’s more, gm didn’t kill it, gm kept them going for another 10 years...without gm that 93 wouldn’t exist. Gm need to make profit or go down, Saab ignored nearly all warnings and gm had to cut loose. And further more, The 93 is still in production under a company called nevs

      Gm wanted Saab to bet just another boring Chevrolet or Opel. Saab is more than that, and yes without GM we wouldn't have a 93, but because of stubborn SAAB we have exactly it like this, with a nice Swedish touch and a car that is something different. If it would've been done according to GM requirements no one would create videos like this and say that SAAB is simply an awesome automobile.

      Agreed but the GM parts bin made Saabs feel cheaper.
      Be interesting to know how much control Saab had after selling 50% and then the rest later on.
      I liked the 9-3 sportcombi and convertibles. I thought they were going to pull through.

    SAAB have overexpencive idea to build cabrio as cabrio. Not just cutting roof from coupe. Like Audi/BMW/Mercedes did.

    I owned a 2004 Aero and drove for 260k miles no problem. Then bought Audi S5 cabrio, beautiful car, big car payment. Drunk driver totaled it so I snagged 2008 Aero with V6, love it. The rims are much nicer looking on yours, are they standard equipment or after market, if after market I would like to purchase same ones if you know the model. Thanks so much for your video, great job on production.

      Its very nice, did you buy something to cover the plastic bumpers? If so where because i really hate the tacky plastic.

      canalfixe around there. I fell in love with my first saab a 05 9-3 did a few mods to that tuned it the sad part it wasn’t manual so I sold it and found this one owner aero and I love it

    I wish saab never co-op with GM They can stay smaller company but it might be stay alive. İt was not low cost car company thats why cannot be able worked with GM properly. GM means low cost high sales.

    Roofs out of sync, all four windows should drop 1inch then all for drop after roof is complete

    Too bad GM destroyed Saab with the GM parts bin and bad decisions.
    BMW almost bought Saab.
    I think they would have done better than GM..lol

      Yeah I agree,beemer would have revived the marquee, if anyone doubts that, take a test drive over the nu Supra, BMW engine and running gear.Imagine a 93 or 95 in those guys hands.........

      When GM took over, we all kinds knew it was the death nail.
      The owners of Saab sold to them so I guess they cared more about money.

      @@sonofrobert Yes, but looking forward, I am treating myself to a 93 T convertible at the end of the year, insurance companies seem 2 write them off with a scratch, so it puts a motoring icon in my hands for Vauxhall Corsa money!!

      @@sonofrobert Going for the 4 cylinder 2 litre,not really 4 tuning capability,be honest,6 cylinder so much rarer,my insurance on 2.0 only £758 per year,tax is £27.50 pm.Can't wait!!! 😎

    The bad quality of the plastics is not a GM fault!!! They not ruined Saab you idiots!
    GM tryed to save money with that shitty quality of interior fitments and put good materials where it counts! If GM didn't take SAAb, they have been long forgotten. I love post 1990 SAABS.
