colored pencils are more efficient but you can make special shapes and mix colors with crayons while you can’t with pencils. Both have their pros and cons
I purchase this exact one or a similar one for my nephew when he was younger. They had a car mold and other molds. He loved it and I'm always on the hunt for one. He is going to be 17 in November but is still a kid at heart. Congrats on finding one.
It works faster if you use a silicon form for sweets or chocolates. Put the pieces of crayon in the form and put the silicone form in a warm but not hot oven. It's more efficient than make three at one time and the crayons have more interesting forms like sea shells or small animals ect. They make great presents for children
It's better than using a microwave and molds. Young kids can use this machine to make their own crayons independently without an older child or adult. It's so much safer for them.
Calvin and Hobbes -March, 1995 Calvin is admiring a large new box of crayons. "A box of new crayons! Now they're all pointy, lined up in order, bright and perfect! ... Soon they'll be a bunch of ground-down, rounded, indistinguishable stumps, missing their wrappers and smudged with other colors." [Calvin pauses for a moment sets the box of crayons down and leans back before saying] "Sometimes life seems unbearably tragic." If only he would have had this machine.
I just love the way you pronounce [krans]. Your accent is cute! (I enjoy the way people from various areas speak. My students laugh with me because I come from a different region and pronounce some words differently than they do {e.g. [when] vs [wen]}. We get into fun discussions about accents and dialects.)
I had to laugh at your typo - "caryon" - because it made me think of "carrion" which is meat from a dead animal. You can "make" (aka cook) carrion but not in a crayon maker. Lololol 😅😂
I had one of these as a kid. It was honestly the most awesome thing ever. Recently I saw a video of a more modern version of this toy and the crayons it produces are much smaller. We had it great in the early 2000’s
I vividly remember getting this for Christmas one year. Only to cry when it didn't work. It also almost broke the "Magic of Christmas" cause we returned it to Walmart XD
This brings back so much nostalgia! When my sister and I were little my dad would help us make crayons and teach us how to draw with them. Thank you for sharing😊❤️
Why were there a bunch of make it yourself kits with heating and molds as kid toys back then? Like, there's also one for making hot wheels cars. Or something
Had one of these as a kid. I could definitely see this as a utility for artist types, though I do not know if it works for higher grade crayons such as the Neocolor IIs or Conte crayons.
I got this for Christmas one year and absolutely loved breaking down our old crayons and making fun new ones, i even remember forcing my way past the locking mechanism so i could give the wax a mix and make swirly crayons
I had this exact model as a kid. And I remember my dad helped me disable the lock so we could pre swirl the colors with a popsicle stick. Good times. 😊
I used to use mine as a kid to melt broken crayons back together, or ones that where to small to use with other little ones of the small color so that i wouldn't waste
Oh my gosh this brings back so many memories I used to do this when I was little we can never unlock it and there's a reason why me and my sister love doing that a lot and my sister was older than me but she got it for me and I love doing it
I had this growing up and I was obsessed with it lol. I had younger siblings who would always break my crayons so being able to melt them back together was great
I had this as a kid, also a marker maker that you could use to make your own colors, I saw it on tv and begged my parents to get it for me on Christmas.
I used to LOVE this thing! I never had one but the kids next door did and that was all I wanted to do when I went over there to play 😂 their mom got so sick of it so fast
I had one of these as a kid! It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I kept some of my crayons in my pocket and after they were dried they ended up staining the load with streaks of red and blue crayon. It looks pretty cool on pillows cases but not so great on white shirts or jeans
If you find the precious metals melt and pour jewlery maker id love to see a video of that. Had one in early 2000s or late 90s also had a good time with this crayon maker back in the day

I hope you find one soon! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the car molds :)
I remembered have one like that, man, you’re lucky to find it
As a kid i used to melt crayons in the microwave and pour them into candy molds so you can always try that if your search turns up empty-handed!!!
@@ajet8284yes, using a silicone mold works great and you can make way more different shapes! :D
I think I know you guys, I used to go to your house and I made crayons with him and you guys had a trampoline
“Cran” was driving me up the wall 😭
I feel like this is great for elementary teachers that always end up with hundreds of broken crayons in their rooms
FR
omg I remember, I used to be friends w the kid that broke ALL of them :0
I have one, am an elementary teacher, and absolutely do use the left over broken crayons for this!
We melt similar colors together in muffin baking trays, comes out as little pucks great size for younger kids to grip
When I was in elementary school, our teacher did this exactly. We’d choose our colors and then she’d melt them together for us
How to make crayons:
Step 1. Melt some crayons
It’s all so simple😂
Wrong u might the crayon

The good ol’ days :)
But were they rusty metal toys?

This is a great way to use old crayon scraps to make a new crayon!

I USED TO HAVE THISSSS me and my sister would spend an hour peeling the paper off then putting in it to the machine

omg i was OBSESSED with this thing as a kid
I had this as a kid and honestly, the marker one will always be superior.
It can also be used to create chocolate crayons or candles. I really like this gadget.
I always loved the big multi colored crayon made like this. Was so excited this was around when my son was young.

I miss the marker maker. That thing was so awesome I loved it so much
