Insane games. Whenever chaos wins a game, it absolutely never feel earned and always make you think they sacked. However, when your entire deck is made up of win condition cards that sack the opponent, that's sort of the game plan. Very awesome series, these are a highlight of my day whenever they come out.
I mean the deck has no interruptions besides Torrential, crush card, IO. This was an earned win going against a deck that beat it previously, and has interruptions plus a solid extra deck for its time

It is fascinating how the oldest deck in the tournament likely plays the most like modern going 2nd decks (power spells to force responses), and likely stands the greatest chance against anything from the modern bracket finals. Good luck Chaos! Also loved the insane number of Yata locks this match 👏
After losing to triple topdeck archfiend, and the most unlucky discards from mirage of nightmare ever, Chaos went on a rampage, eliminating real contenders: Tengu Plant, Ravine Rulers(!), and Wind-ups. And finally Chaos absolutely revenge killed Infernity with no mercy in the final. Im not sure whether or not Chaos has won this tournament before, and I know they've had some poor performances in recent years, but this year has been extremely impressive, with some incredible victories. I think Chaos has regained everyone's respect as a real contender in the "balanced" bracket, and I hope they continue to be a regular participant.
Chaos came for revenge and oh man, it did not disappoint. Some unfortunate hands from Infernity but still What a run through losers for the banned bois
Chaos has such an amazing story this tournament Chaos lost to Infernity in the second round of the bracket Then clawed its way back through Tengu Plant, a matchup where most people favored the newer deck Through Ravine Rulers, one of the most exciting matches in the tournament Through Wind-up, who only just lost to Infernity and was expected to run it back in the finals And finally, after a grueling journey, Chaos met Infernity again in the finals, its old rival who kicked it down into the depths of loser's bracket a long time ago NEVER SLEEP ON CHAOS
Chaos managing to overcome the odds and take home the gold is awe inspiring. The ability to banish via D-Mag and Warrior Lady came up several times, which really highlighted that the deck has more tricks up its sleeve beyond board wipes. Nonetheless, Yata is what sealed the deal here. Infernity's empty-hand strategy is just too risky against a potential Yata. Kudos to Lithium for piloting the deck so well this set.
@@RyanAtlus yup that's why there's two different brackets. People who like strategy and skill watch the top, while people who like rock, paper, scissors tournaments can watch the bottom bracket. Not saying one's better than the other...
What I've always wanted to see for a crossbanlist tournament is every single deck playing with the same staple pool and seeing which archetype is the best. Can burning abyss beat dragon rulers if dragon rulers have all the staples ba had at their time in the meta.
The issue is someone would have to make choices for which cards get substituted. Do you take out phoenix wing in rulers to put in droplets? If so how many? Then you also have to consider whether or not the changes impact consistency. There will always be people saying the changes were not done correctly and the results would be controversial. As fun as I think your idea is, I don't think its practical.
@Nicholas Bonasoro the more I think about it the less the logistics make sense. You would need to make this be like a different short series to the actually cross banlist cup, because there isn't really a way to make a tourney as big as the cross banlist cup this way eithout a lot of prep time to make the decks
It’s not quite that but you could check out MBT’s masochist banlist tournaments. Basically just tournaments with a bunch of banned cards unbanned. They might scratch that itch for you.
Magical Scientist and TER came in massive throughout. At one point THREE TER. Chaos Vs Swordsoul/Dryton grand finals, sadly Chaos will lose. I hope it opens nuts and gets one win.
It’s about damn time!!! Chaos had no business losing to infernity in the first place. But, Ruler was by far the biggest barrier. Not sure if chaos can win one against the newer formats, but this is more than good enough for me❤
As expected, Chaos WINS! The victory is well deserved. Chaos went absolutely insane, and showed off it's true power and why certain cards are banned. I'm proud of Chaos. I really am.
After being so close few times, Chaos finally won Cross-Banlist Cup!!! (Yugi's category of power level) Funny how man can be so happy about something like that xD
SPOILERS What a set of duels. Chaos’ last 5 matches starting and ending with Infernity has been my favorite time watching the CBC since you came up with it. Back to back Yata locks, big storms and dusters, a great underdog story, and plenty of goats lol
Yata-lock for the win!!! Chaos has just been killing it this tournament! Going with Swordsoul 3-2, just like last time. Their side deck is well equipped to win this and they defeated Drytron last time. The one thing that has me wondering though is Drytron has access to Maxx "C", being an OCG list, while Swordsoul, being a TCG list, does not. That said, Maxx "C" against Swordsoul isn't always a game winner unlike against Adamancipator, as Swordsoul can just go "Chixao, pass", while only giving up a small amount in card advantage. That, I'm still wondering if that will be the X-factor in this matchup.
Wow, what an incredibly impressive showing by Chaos. Not just beating Infernity but crushing them. They absolutely dominated. I think it's pretty obvious they will meet their match against either Drytron or Swordswoul probably 3-1, but that's not really the point. Really well done Chaos.
This year is my year. Im so happy for it. Argentina win the world cup, i pulled alot of good and wanted cards from set in tcg and chaos and swordsouls my favorite decks win this cross banlist. Mark my words for tomorrow
Si en el anterior enfrentamiento Infernity tuvo los mejores top decks. Ahora se vió la superioridad del uno frente al otro. Absoluta masacre. Como he dicho, siempre dará peleas a cualquier deck.
Great games! By the way, it is not "Magician King" but "Musician King" :P In the "grand finals" Chaos will be a massive underdog but honestly winning the balanced bracket is the most a "balanced bracket deck" can probably do. Nevertheless, chaos can still side some useful stuff: Prohibition going first to hit a key combo piece, Kycoo which is good vs Swordsoul and going second especially vs Swordsoul, change of heart, and maybe even premature, metamorphosis (maybe even creature swap?) can be sided to try to improve the chances of breaking their board
I'am happy for Chaos win but lets be honest, Infernities opened awful almost every game. I guess thats the karma u get from Archfiend topdeck thrice in arrow 😅
This was amazing. It buns me down a bit though how slow pre 2015 decks are. I guess Handloop Wind-Up or Baby Rulers would beat Chaos, but overall all those decks are super slow
That last match wasn't even a contest!! I didn't imagine that result on the last best out of 5. So sad it's going to be totally obliterated by any of the other 2.
It has a good matchup versus Swordsoul actually. So many power cards. And Protos has to pick either call Light or call Dark and both BLS and CED can remove the card without destroying it. So can DD Warrior Lady. It will depend on what hand traps Swodsoul draws. Drytron trashes it, though.

Seeing Chaos ripping Infernity apart in the finals is one of my favorite matches this year.
Multiple Yata locks from Chaos in the same video, insane stuff.
Chaos went really hard on the 2nd match, those yata's locks were so early and brutal
they really got their revenge on those topdecked archfiends
Now imagine pulling the Yata lock off thx to Konami messing up upcomming spirit support in the modern era

I think it was actually Yugi piloting Chaos and not Lithium in this match.
Yata was just telling Infernity "Nevermore"

As a player who played no further than the GX era, watching Chaos win it's side of the bracket warms my heart.
Totally agree!
This has got to be chaos’ greatest performance ever in the history of the CBC. Incredible what banned cards do even with very old card quality

Chaos finally winning a Cross Banlist Cup. Granted it was only the pre-2014 bracket, but still. So glad to see them abuse those busted spells.
