Then in the end of the episode, Patrick asks for one Krabby Patty, SpongeBob's face gets serious and he starts launching patties. I'm sure there is some more evidence somewhere?

I have a theory for that too:
You remember the episode "Pressure" from the second season, when Sandy challenged Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs to go on land? During a conversation with Sandy Spongebob said that he can "reproduce by budding". Actually sea sponges are hermaphrodite and reproduce by building buds.
- [ ] This to the first part of my theory. In the episode "SB-129", when Squidward travels 2000 years into the future we see spongebob having clones of himself. I don't know which genus of sea sponge spongebob is but some types can live extrem long. The oldest sponge is about 10.000 years old.
- [ ] This means that the Spongebob we see in "SB-129" could be the same as we know today and not just one of his ancestors. And the clones he has around him could be copies of himself he produced by budding. This theory could also explain why he is still always acting like a child, although he must be in his 30s now (we can see his date of birth on his driving license in the episode "Sleepy Time"). When you think about his high lifespan, 30 years are a pretty short time.
- [ ] As addition to it I was also asking myself what will happen to Patrick?
- [ ] I googled how long seastars can live and found out that some can reach the age of 34 years but other kinds can only live up to 8 years. So in both cases Spongebob would see Patrick dying while he is still in a young age. Pretty sad actually.
- [ ] But then I remembered that in the episode "Karate Star" Patrick clones himself by chopping one of his arms off and after a google search I realized this isn't made up. Seastars can reproduce asexually by pushing off body parts from which the same Seastar with the same genetic material can grow (also interesting is that seastars who don't reproduce by having sex life longer). We can also see Patrick clones in other episodes, e.g. in the end of"Spy Buddies".
- [ ] To make again a connection to "SB-129", we can see Patrick in there with two heads. Maybe he is going through a reproducing process again.
- [ ] At the end I can finally say that maybe Patricks short lifespan isn't that tragic as I thought. He can just clone himself when he is getting old. Maybe he even did this during the show and the Patrick from season 10 isn't the same we have seen in season 1.

It's been stated by the creators that all of the new Spongebob episodes canonically take place before the first movie, which is "the end of Spongebob." So really, (besides the fact that he's a cartoon character) he can't die in any episodes, because then he wouldn't be alive to be in the movie.

Well in the episode "Neptune's Spatula" Neptune actually makes Spongebob a god, but oddly the episode never really says whether he turned him back or not. So it is entirely possible that Spongebob remained a god and thus immortal.

One thing that might be worth noting is that sea stars have a similar ability to what you describe with sponges. I think it requires more specific circumstances, but when a sea star loses a limb it is possible not only to regenerate the lost appendage, but for the severed limb to grow into an entirely new sea star. My theory is that Spongebob is actually an artificial sponge that sank to Bikini Bottom and was adopted his parents. He is actually a pollutant; hence why he causes so much mayhem, he isn't a part of the natural ecosystem.
He's immortal, robust, and a little too perfectly shaped.
I think his parents tried to have kids, but were too old and decided to adopt and ended up with the only abandoned sponge around. I don't think anyone, including Spongebob or his parents knows that he's artificial though... they just know he doesn't quite fit in.
