My Mom passed away from dementia three years ago. Her very favorite movie was Miss Congeniality. She would watch it over and over again. She couldn't remember most of it, so it was new every time 😂😢 I could remember, but loved to watch my Mom's joy, every time ♥ Love you Sandra, you gave my Mom a lot of joy ❤
Before my dad died, he and I would always watch a movie for Christmas as our Christmas tradition. We almost always watched a Sandra Bullock movie. We both enjoyed what she did (and does) so much. He and I started the movie thing after my mom died at Christmas 10 years before he did. I now must watch one of her movies! Her movies always made us feel good at a sad time.
I have absolutely loved Sandra Bullock for decades! There have been only a couple of movies that I haven't enjoyed but I will say that While You Were Sleeping was my first introduction to HBO. lol I am so happy that she found her family and that includes her happiness.
Oh yeah, that was a tough scene to watch. A lot of that movie was hard to watch. So sad but she did an amazing job and so did the little girl whose name escapes me.
The part that broke me was her going through the closet for a suitable dress after her mother passed. She starts crying and then doubles over in grief like her stomach suddenly disappeared. When my mom passed, I experienced the exact same reaction. Crying but there’s no sound and doubled over as if there’s a hole where my stomach should be.
My first introduction to Sandy B was While You Were Sleeping, loved her in that! Any film with SB in it is amazeballs. I absolutely love Miss Congeniality, Mustang Sally as the BG as Gracie glides is the best scene ever!
I'm 44 so I was quiet young when I discovered Sandra Bullock. You actually didn't mention the movie. It was late 1992 I was 12. The movie was "Love Potion Number 9". Became an Instant fan! My 2 favorites are "In Love and War" and "The Lake House".
I felt bad that everyone sometimes forgot that Sandra Bullock did a great job voicing as Miriam in The Prince of Egypt, that movie was my biggest introduction to the actress herself.

I liked the scene in Miss Congeniality when she dove off the stage onto the man with the gun. That was hilarious! And, I live in Texas, so it is so true that everyone seems to have a gun.

About that not being able to sing. My husband lead the All Virginia Chorus. To be able to join/ participate, Sandra would have had to audition among other minimum requirements. He states that she sang very well. Also, she was excellent on the piano. She did audition for a solo with this particular choir, but it was given to someone else. At her first rehearsal, Sandra was still wearing her cheerleading uniform. Sandra was moderately well known because she had two opera parents.
I wonder if Sandra is going to be like Betty White when she gets older? Really sweet, but the darnedest things come out of her mouth. Maybe she'll be the Frank's Red Hot spokes person then. I put that sh!t on everything.
