Question: Why do British people alternate between quid and pound often in the same sentence? A long time ago, I got confused thinking quid was a smaller unit of currency than a pound 🤦♀. Just curious. As usual, you guys are lovely ❤. Kirby is the best of both breeds🦮. Lab and retriever, what else could you ask for??? I think Kirby wants to be your videographer. Give her a chance 😄.
Quid and pound are the same thing. Pound is the actual currency, but a quid is just an informal word we use in the UK to describe a pound! We are so used to it we don’t even notice 😊
@@natashaj4113 In the U.S., you can say "buck" as an informal term for "dollar" but I think generally, people stick to one or the other. I just got confused because British people will switch between "quid" and "pound" often within the same sentence 🤷♀. Thx for explaining but I did know that they were the same thing....eventually 😂.
