Ben. Absolutely agree. As a 50 year old follower of Orbital since the first album, this is one of Orbitals most intense tracks, the crescendo of layering of percussion, melody and otherworldly samples and sondscapes. Not electronic like the other pioneers, but that driving sound that only Orbital ever did. As good for the feet as for the mind.
I heard this song for the first time live in ‘99, Jacksonville, FL. Crystal Method and Lo-Fidelity Allstars opened up for Orbital. They had literally just released Middle of Nowhere. I had never seen them live until that day so imagine your first live experience of Orbital hearing this song as an opening track 🤘😮. Had backstage passes so I not only met them before the show, I hung out with them all night afterwards too. We talked about music production, gear, other producers, etc. Then Phil took me on the tour bus.....and made sweet sweet love to me 🤣🤣🤣, lmao..... jk No, Phil took me on their tour bus, introduced me to their mates (one of which was a large Scottish bloke who kept talking to me but I was so embarrassed because his accent was sooooo thick that I just couldn’t understand him). Needless to say, I felt like an A-hole 😔. Phil gave me a copy of ‘Middle of Nowhere’ that I cherish to this day. The point I wanted to make was I was sooooooo blown away by their music, their live show, the visuals and their hospitality. But more importantly, I remember thinking, when I heard this song (Nowhere to Run), that this music and these sounds/production is not something we should be hearing for another 20-30 years. Meaning, it was so advanced, that it was just like, out of this world advanced!! I honestly thought these lovely blokes were from the future, lol. What’s crazy is, that was 21 years ago and when I listen to it now in 2020, my attitude towards this song, along with so many of their songs, is that it’s still 20+ years ahead of its time and ahead of anything else has ever put out. These guys are masters of their craft and their gear and they sure know how to get everything out of their gear. I don’t think I could ever get close to production like this 😔
This album kept me sane It was bought on cassette in suq in Doha in 1999 And was the only thing i played in my hire car for 6 months Driving out there was lawless Felt like i was playing wipeout
This is absolutely my favorite Orbital song. I bought this album when I was around 14, and I love the whole cd, but Know Where to Run is one of my favorite songs of all time.
I think this lp was the Orbital sound folks may have expected at the time of InSides... & InSides was the sound really missing at the turning of the century & into the 00's... That electronica needed more for hearing more of imo.
I can remember being in Southern California in '99 inside a Tower Records (damn) and this started playing (as a fan I thought, "props on the song choice"), and first one, then two, then a third person went to ask the staffer "What song is this/what band is this/what album is this?" First time you hear it, it just hits a lot of fantastic highs - it's irresistible, you need it.
si alguien tiene capitulos de cronicas de hospital de la temporada 2004 grabados en vhs me encantaria verlos con mi madre ya que a mi me encantan los programas de tematica hospital era de tvn y super pulento y entretenido❤❤❤❤❤
This album has a bit too many vocal samples (especially Nothing Left), but it's still one of the most complete albums I've heard and takes me on a journey. Easily in my top 20 favorite albums of all time.
This is the best Orbital album . We have John Craven news round sampled and Style is an homage to German 70's outfits Cluster and Harmonia - check them out ..
I think this was the most Prodigy/ big beat influenced Hartnolls record, not necessarly in a good way, because in Nothing Left and I Don't Know You People this bound is cheeky. Also too much long tunes. Still solid good album though.
I love how this song _still_ feels like the future!
I love Orbital, and this song is one of their best. It's criminally under-viewed here!
Absolutely, one of their best

It's 2024 and this track still fresh af
My favourite track on the Wip3out OST

M8 when I heard these tracks on Wip3out in my childhood I thought this was going to be the music of the future. I'm still smad that its not.
@@warrantyV0IDED I know right!! It was futuristic in ‘99 and it’s still futuristic in 2021
Orbital rock!!
Sick, is it signed?
Ahh, the Community Service Tour, if I recall correctly. I danced so hard that when I tried to walk afterwards I kinda fell on the pavement.
Nothing gets you higher than this song, really early 2000's futuristic utopian tune. Ahead of their times!
One of the most complete tunes I've ever heard . Still kicks the shxt out of most tunes . Especially how strong it is💪💪💪
This album kept me sane

This song is an out of body experience.
I have to close my eyes from 5:12 to 6:30 because the (sober) high I get is so intense.

I totally agree Daniel. It's my favourite, it is total savagery 💙
Came here to say this is the song that got me loving this band, will always be my favorite Orbital song. Funny, other people feel the same way!
Absolutely Brilliant on all levels.
Good times back in 1999!
Huh, im playin it right now
I bought this album together with half life... the first 2 minutes still are part of the soundtrack for me
Influential, pivotal momentary bliss in time & space... Life altering pioneers
One of The best trips ever
This was Orbital at their peak, in my opinion. Epic and inspired track.
This stuff is too good to be on YT.
Wip3out
This album really helped me when recovering from a toxic relationship.
Christ , I thought I was reading my own comment for a moment then.
@@kristianTV1974 I thought I was reading Christ's comment about Mary
The best album of 1999.
The best from Orbital
So good - sooo goooood.

Sorry but the best oribtial track hands down

Wip3out fans here?
I honestly didn't know this song in particular, but yes, the WipEout series was the first thing that came to my mind.
I am from childhood a electronic music lover. At the era, WipEout series did expand my taste in it, significantly.
@@nicollebee awesome!

This!!!!! 2:29 to 2:51 on an Orion Cobalt 2105xp powering 2 X JBL GT 10" DVC's in a sealed box!!
The kick drum at 7:57. I'd push this thru my mtx blue thunder 10s. Late 99. 20 years old, no fucks to give..

thanks for the references, on both of them now down to you :o)
Wip3out baby😍👍
The 14 dislikes are from electro-swing fans.
Endlessly interesting
