"Think like a pirate" is literally the best advice I got for this game when I was new. The second best advice I got was "sell often, it's not your treasure until it's sold"
LMAO, I was the player on the boat at 7:30. It was literally my first day playing, had no idea what i was doing. Ah, its funny I've came across this. It's funny seeing it in your POV.
I'm pretty middle ground. I like playing with a crew. But playing solo is where you REALLY test your metal and learn the game, as well as discover your weaknesses and learn. Thus making you a better crew member and captain in the long run.
I primarily go solo and the part I love the most are the ships of 2-4 people who talk sh*t after finally killing you when you have killed their whole crew multiple times. “You’re so bad”, etc. I find it hilarious because it makes them look bad either way lol
Some other tips... I am not near the fighter hitbo is, but, I am a bigger coward. A couple tips for running as a solo: Use the sloop to your advantage. Larger boats do not handle tight spaces as well so if you have to fight, fight in tight rock formations. And another tip, lead the other crew to shallow water. A specific spot I have circled on the map is to the east of reapers and has a large area around a small island that is very shallow and will beach a ship if they do not know the area. Have fun. I had one of these the other day. It was 2v1, I was stacked and on the run. I took them down to devils roar and anchored them under an active volcano and fought them on their burning ship while my ship sailed off. It was great.

Ngl I love this vid cause this is how I started getting better at the game. I’ll never be like the sweats. Nope not me. But where I win out is in the creativity side. Being silly, talking my way out of situations, using the environment to my advantage (can’t tell you how many times I had people come after me and not see the giant rock they’re about to crash into). I take the fights to places of the maps people don’t want to got to like the devils roar next to an active volcano. Going into the fog just to anchor turn around an island. I just realized when people are after me seeing red they’re not paying attention to the other things around them.
Great video. I loved the harpoon at the Sovereign!! Their reaction was great!! Sorta newish to the game learning all I can. You are pretty good in my humble know-nothing opinion 😂

I live by some of your tips from previous videos: always have an escape plan, and project confidence lol I can’t tell you how many times brigs and galleons left me alone after I gave them resistance when they tried attacking me. I play solo maybe 95% of the time.

I was solo for most of season 11, I’ll forever remember a very fun solo v solo v skelly gally I had during a fleet of fortune. I lost, but it was a nice experience I’ll never forget. Love the video! The thing I can say as a solo player is creativity has won me as many fights as it’s lost me, but it keeps the game fun! Also, you’re never at a disadvantage because you have more game sense then 75% of the player base. You’re one of the most aware players on the seas which will always put you at an advantage. 🤙🏼

The ones that get me are the players who go out of their way to sink/kill you regardless if they have anything to gain from it. A good example I've had a few times is trying to grind some of this current season's commendations involving skeleton ships. (i.e. sneak on a skeleton ship or steal supplies from a skeleton ship, etc.) I had a skeleton ship come up next to me so I jumped on board to attempt to work on those commendations. Another ship with like 2-3 players joined in and while the player ship started to target my unmanned ship on autopilot along with the skeleton ship, one of their players cannoned onto the skeleton ship and made a beeline right for me, ignoring the dozens of skeleton enemies and just hard focused on me. Ended up getting blunderbussed in the back by a skeleton while trying to dodge the player. Respawned on some random island because my ship had been sunk. Just yesterday, I had picked up a few maps from the quest board to find treasures other players had buried. I anchor at the first island, taking notice to one of those "Burning Blades" ships (or whatever they are called) a good distance away going in a different direction. So, I anchor down and start hunting the island for the treasure. A few moments later, I hear boss music and suddenly the ship comes barreling in like a freight train, torching my Sloop before ramming headlong into it, sinking it and leaving me stranded. At first, I thought the ship was one of those NPC boss ships or whatever that can spawn in and was curious as to why it would hard focus on my empty ship like that, but turns out it was other players because after demolishing my ship, they cannon fired one of their players onto the island as they sailed by to look for some treasure as well. I lost all my treasure/quest maps when my ship was sunk but I did manage to save like the only piece of loot I had with a rowboat I had found on the island. Then that other player just comes up outta nowhere and drops a treasure chest on my rowboat...I don't know why...they already made me lose everything else I had...then sent me an "lmao" message after I killed them because I was rather peeved that I lost all my treasure maps when they sunk my ship for no reason.
I’d love to see a video in this style of a heist. Maybe like a directors commentary of you and Green reviewing one of your best FOTD steals? It would be a great primer for season 14. And it would be nice to see Green on the channel again.
Love your videos, the commentary/story telling video style is really fun, but I wish you wouldn't spoil the tricks!ie "I went for a keg play, and it WORKED" Also idea for a video. Do the "do you want $200 or should we double it and give it to the next person" internet trend with SoT treasure.

I enjoy this type of "what's going on in my head" type of video. Only thing I'd say is maybe do smaller commentary clips more often or even give them while the gameplay is going instead of cutting to face cam.
I have just started watching. My answer without watching is game knowledge. Yesterday I was solo. Went to an island to get more supplies while I let the ship go. When I returned to the ship it had 9 holes in the hull, 5 in the lower part and 3 of them was the largest hole size. The water was above the map table. Behind me there was a sloop that obviously had attacked my innocent meme fleet vessle. So I repaired the ship and sunk them twice. I used game knowledge to sink them both times, they were not able to catch me. never ever....
Imo gallions are easier to sink/ tuck on. If I see a gallion as a solo I'm pretty happy about it. Brigs are 50/50 but sloops are usually a no go. Unless you have a new player sloop then I don't usually engage.
If you have the gold, you can just buy crates of supplies (cannon balls, wood, food, etc) while at port. A lot of players recommend doing this if you can at the start of every session to save time on needing to farm for supplies. But some places like the sea forts are loaded with supplies if you take the time to clear out all the storage barrels/crates once you've cleared out the loot. It is probably easier and less risky to just buy all your supplies while at port, especially if you are a solo player, because the longer you spend clearing a place like a fort of its supplies, the more of a chance you have of other players rolling up on you and killing you/sinking you. One thing I found is always good to have on your ship at all times is a couple of empty storage supply crates. Once you've gotten all the loot from a place, it's always good to take those empty crates and just scoop up as many supplies as you can from all the storage barrels around the location you are looting. Then, just toss them onto your ship and take off. You can sort all your supplies out once your ship is moving again. I know from the few times I've checked (I've only been playing for like 2 weeks now myself) the cluster of barrels you can find hanging from pullies/cranes at sea forts tend to have some good stuff. Food wise, I've found a lot of pineapples as well as a fairly good amount of both raw and cooked meat/fish.
Ok, serious question though. How do you get that many supplies? I feel like I could spend a couple hours just raiding forts with a supply crate and not get that many

Solo sloop is definitely tough IF you ever run into another player in a server. 😂 I prefer to roll w a crew, but I've done and still do A LOT of soloing and rarely do I ever come across other ships......even when I do see ships and go after them, THEY RUN 😂 People act like pvp is HourGlass only these days. Don't care for streamers, but HitBOB is hilarious and also gives great advice like in this video 👍
I've had the worst luck with my sololing. While usually other Sloops tend to avoid confrontation or may shoot a few passing shots while they zoom by if you are anchored out, pretty much all the larger ships I have seen always go after any ship that they can spot. I've had moments where I started a session, grabbed a few player treasure maps from the quest board, and then at like the first island I've came to, while I am looking for the treasure, I've had galleons just roll on up and torch/ram my anchored sloop and sink it just because. I didn't have any loot on it that I lost but if your ship does sink, you lose any treasure maps/etc you have on you. So, those 5 quest maps I picked up at the start of my session before I set off were just gone.
It's a streamer mode provided by the game itself...it masks other players real nametags using other prefab ones (which are always the same)...I guess it's for privacy sake
Just started this game and I’m a solo player. If the other group of people are on the island and you get on their boat. Can’t you just sink it or steal it and sail away?
I mean, you could if you get onto their boat. But what usually happens is as you are leaving, the players might either kill themselves or just use a mermaid to warp back to their boat if you get to far away with it. The mermaids you can encounter in the water with the flares will warp you back to your boat wherever it is as long as it's not sunk. Same goes for if you die. Once you leave the Ferry of the Damned, you just respawn on your boat if it hasn't sunk. If your boat has been sunk, the you (and your fresh boat) will respawn at one of the near by islands/ports.
@@HitboTC It would be cool if you could hide in the vault then while they were doing waves you could hide all the new treasure that spawned and make them think it was Empty.
It can be (I've only been playing for 2 weeks now) but the game is definitely much more challenging for a solo player. PvE enemies and bosses tend to be easier solo because their health stacks depending on how many players you have in your crew. (I have solo'd megs on my sloop by myself with like 10-15 shoots of cannons or scattershot). So, the more players in your crew, the more health enemies/bosses will have. But actually encountering other ships or whatnot is more challenging solo because you have to juggle from controlling your ship so you don't crash into something, going on the offensive with your own cannons, or rushing to repair damage/bail out water if your ship starts to sink. It's no impossible to do solo...but it's much more of a challenge. I would recommend playing on Safer Seas at first just until you get a decent understanding of the controls. In Safer Seas, you play in a private server. You, and your crew, will be the only player/s. You will still have your PvE enemies and encounters, but you don't have to worry about other players. It's good for wanting to learn how to play the game and understand the basics without worrying about other players constantly hounding you. The only drawback is that since you are in a private lobby, all your quest/bounty and treasure payouts are much less (I believe like 30% of the actual amount) since there wasn't a risk of other players stealing your stuff. Once you get a good understanding on how the controls and game mechanics are, then I'd say jump into High Seas then. High Seas has everything the Safer Seas has, just that you also have to deal with other players in the server as well. Some players can be pretty chill and might help out new players if you are lucky. But, a lot of players love to kill/sink anyone they can come across...especially newer players because "It's a game about being a pirate".
Fun video to watch but be honest, you had fun bodying new players and showing off some cool plays then decided after to make a video based around it lol
The win condition is getting the treasure he says ... fort if the damn takes me 20 mins tops he ran around for most likely a couple hours this is not "playing the game" imo this is stupid very very stupid very counter productive ! If you want to pvp then hour glass ⌛️.... other than that jump servers with a dive and make that money without a streamer trying to get content or some pos toxic player with no life....
I mean...in all fairness, if you don't want to deal with PvP, then play in Safer Seas and you don't have to worry about other players. Heck, I've been in High Seas minding my own business exploring an island (no loot or anything on my ship) and have had other players on brigs and galleons come up and sink my ship just because. I didn't have the hourglass activated or anything. (In fact, the only time I have ever done anything with the hourglass is the other day, I was sitting at port after I just sold some loot and a few players on another ship came up and asked if I could activate the hourglass on my ship so they could sink it...which, I didn't have any loot or excess supplies so it wasn't like I lost anything by letting them.) I can't stand PvP, especially when I am new to a game and still learning...but that's the whole point of there being High Seas and Safer Seas. In High Seas, part of the point of the game mode is that at any point, another player can kill you/steal your loot. If you don't like that, then play Safer Seas.

I've had the worst luck with my sololing. While usually other Sloops tend to avoid confrontation or may shoot a few passing shots while they zoom by if you are anchored out, pretty much all the larger ships I have seen always go after any ship that they can spot. I've had moments where I started a session, grabbed a few player treasure maps from the quest board, and then at like the first island I've came to, while I am looking for the treasure, I've had galleons just roll on up and torch/ram my anchored sloop and sink it just because. I didn't have any loot on it that I lost but if your ship does sink, you lose any treasure maps/etc you have on you. So, those 5 quest maps I picked up at the start of my session before I set off were just gone.

It's a streamer mode provided by the game itself...it masks other players real nametags using other prefab ones (which are always the same)...I guess it's for privacy sake

Just started this game and I’m a solo player. If the other group of people are on the island and you get on their boat. Can’t you just sink it or steal it and sail away?
I mean, you could if you get onto their boat. But what usually happens is as you are leaving, the players might either kill themselves or just use a mermaid to warp back to their boat if you get to far away with it. The mermaids you can encounter in the water with the flares will warp you back to your boat wherever it is as long as it's not sunk. Same goes for if you die. Once you leave the Ferry of the Damned, you just respawn on your boat if it hasn't sunk.
If your boat has been sunk, the you (and your fresh boat) will respawn at one of the near by islands/ports.
I have hidden my ship and they came across it on either way to the fort. I did the mistake of leaving my row on my ship.
Can they lock you in the vault if they restart it?
It’s a world event so they cannot do that
@@HitboTC It would be cool if you could hide in the vault then while they were doing waves you could hide all the new treasure that spawned and make them think it was Empty.

It can be (I've only been playing for 2 weeks now) but the game is definitely much more challenging for a solo player. PvE enemies and bosses tend to be easier solo because their health stacks depending on how many players you have in your crew. (I have solo'd megs on my sloop by myself with like 10-15 shoots of cannons or scattershot). So, the more players in your crew, the more health enemies/bosses will have. But actually encountering other ships or whatnot is more challenging solo because you have to juggle from controlling your ship so you don't crash into something, going on the offensive with your own cannons, or rushing to repair damage/bail out water if your ship starts to sink. It's no impossible to do solo...but it's much more of a challenge.
I would recommend playing on Safer Seas at first just until you get a decent understanding of the controls. In Safer Seas, you play in a private server. You, and your crew, will be the only player/s. You will still have your PvE enemies and encounters, but you don't have to worry about other players. It's good for wanting to learn how to play the game and understand the basics without worrying about other players constantly hounding you. The only drawback is that since you are in a private lobby, all your quest/bounty and treasure payouts are much less (I believe like 30% of the actual amount) since there wasn't a risk of other players stealing your stuff.
Once you get a good understanding on how the controls and game mechanics are, then I'd say jump into High Seas then. High Seas has everything the Safer Seas has, just that you also have to deal with other players in the server as well. Some players can be pretty chill and might help out new players if you are lucky. But, a lot of players love to kill/sink anyone they can come across...especially newer players because "It's a game about being a pirate".

I came across a "meme fleet" sloop with a very questionable boat name. Have you switched from Family friendly to raunchy?
The win condition is getting the treasure he says ... fort if the damn takes me 20 mins tops he ran around for most likely a couple hours this is not "playing the game" imo this is stupid very very stupid very counter productive ! If you want to pvp then hour glass ⌛️.... other than that jump servers with a dive and make that money without a streamer trying to get content or some pos toxic player with no life....
I mean...in all fairness, if you don't want to deal with PvP, then play in Safer Seas and you don't have to worry about other players. Heck, I've been in High Seas minding my own business exploring an island (no loot or anything on my ship) and have had other players on brigs and galleons come up and sink my ship just because. I didn't have the hourglass activated or anything. (In fact, the only time I have ever done anything with the hourglass is the other day, I was sitting at port after I just sold some loot and a few players on another ship came up and asked if I could activate the hourglass on my ship so they could sink it...which, I didn't have any loot or excess supplies so it wasn't like I lost anything by letting them.)
I can't stand PvP, especially when I am new to a game and still learning...but that's the whole point of there being High Seas and Safer Seas. In High Seas, part of the point of the game mode is that at any point, another player can kill you/steal your loot. If you don't like that, then play Safer Seas.
