Is there a way to fix my HP Laser-jet P2055dn as I have the B0601 error showing on the printers control panel. I cant even get the windows 7 pro laptop to recognize the printers plug & play connection to proceed and try to re-flash the firmware. Meaning for some reason I'm trying to manually install the printers driver and then have the machine be recognized after I plug in the USB cable. I manually run the firmware updater tool and states it isn't recognizing the printer... i have tried putting the printer into "BOOT-CODE" nothing .... Is there a way to SSH, telnet, or serial connect into the printers USB or LAN connector to try and resolve this firmware issue... I cant imaging the HP just replaces the controller board anytime there is a firmware issue. They have to program this somehow before shipping these units,
This helped me recover an OfficeJet 8210 PC that reported "A problem has occured with one of the printer's
critical system files.A printer update will be installed to fix this problem."

What format does the usb drive need to be?
+DK Network The firmware update process requires a network connection or USB flash drive.
FAT32 is accepted. In addition printer didn't recognize 128 GB flash drives. I found one older 32 GB and everything worked.

Please try the below mentioned steps to fix the issue:
Click LaserJet upgrade, choose “Manage Updates”, choose “Check Automatically” and “Allow Updates”, choose NO. Allow Downgrade - If the printer firmware version has been updated to the latest 20201021, you can downgrade the firmware version. Choose “Manage Updates” and select “Allow Downgrade” and Click YES.
