I *just* missed Bauhaus but was heavily in to Love and Rockets and Peter's solo stuff, saw plenty of shows. I met all of them in Montreal and while I was living in Ankara, Peter and his family lived down the street from me.
Why aren't men these days as gorgeous and talented as these two?
As someone who has a stammer, I think Peter handles his stammer incredibly well here. It's not an easy thing to do, that's for sure.
why god why, wasn't I born earlier. Why?! now I have to live my youth in fucking 2011... everything was so supercool back then
Kathy, I was in high school in 1991. Believe me, that was a little late in the game and I went back and bought every single Bauhaus album I could get my hands on, studied their videos every day before school, and really wanted to look like them. It wasn't because I felt like I was the only person who had to hold up a scene, it was because their shit was GREAT and I loved it. I wanted other people to like it but it only freaked them out. I'm GLAD you're fighting the good fight. :)
So he broke out of that and went on to essentially play drums, bass and guitar in TOT and Love & Rockets ... I see ...
Peter & Danny my two fucking DARK LORDS I so much WORSHIP!!!...
Great! thanx for posting now I wish I could see the whole thing :)
Oooh,Daniel...Como eu te adoro *-* OOh,sua voz...*-*
Bauhaus - I saw them at the Hammersmith Palais around '81.
Excellent band. Bela Legosi lives, haha!
english accent is so yummy
Understand u so much Kat ! In Valencia SPAIN @ Chocolate and mesca it was so nice!! oleee!!!
@MrsChaosBitch That's what kids in 1983 said about the 60s. It may be cool now but back then it wasn't and you were all alone if you liked this music. Believe me I know!!
what I would give to have a boyfriend as gorgeous and talented as Peter Murphy...
Peter Murphy's talking voice sounds like Carl Barat's (from The Libertines)!
I was only 2 yrs old when this was shot. Daniel Djayed yesterday and somehow I ended up high fiving him for not playing any of his own music.
@MrsChaosBitch Make it cool now! You have the spirit! The world needs you!
Awesome band.
I thought it was cool-so did my friends-that's all that mattered. But it was tough to get this music-had to wait for the independent record stores to get the imports in. Bought a bunch of Bauhaus "45's"/singles...those were the days-running around at night thinking we were vampires :)
Very nice indeed!
Daniel *__*
@jrmetmoi Only one other kid at my school new of the song let alone ever heard of Bauhaus. Back then kids only listened to what was on the FM radio. Warped by commercialism.
@BunnymanVids At least FM radio back then was better than the FM radio of today!
@MrsChaosBitch If you stand out people will hate you no matter what generation. This is still around you just have to look for it.
@MrsChaosBitch
I feel you on that one. 1994
@BunnymanVids You were all alone in liking the famous Bela Lugosi's Dead?!?
@jrmetmoi Yes but back then FM radio was all there was. There was no internet radio or satellite radio. You had to hope there was a college or community station that had a show once-a-week that played stuff like Bauhaus.
"daniel ashe" haha
@jrmetmoi It wasn't famous back then. It was new and weird, and you were a weirdo if you liked it. What was famous back then was resident "Boy Toy" Madonna. If you liked her, you had friends. If you preferred the anti-Madonna - Siouxsee (and the Banshees), The Cure, Bauhaus, go down the list - it was basically just you and about 5 or 6 other "goth" kids at your school . . . who, btw, weren't really called goths, either.
There was no goth scene; just you and your friends dressed in black.
The sound is fucked up low as shit
Pete Murphy had such a stunningly unique face I always thought he`d end up as a major film star but it wasn`t to be I guess.
He was a Maxell tape star!
@Francisco Auerbach have y’all got hacked? These same comments keep being made everywhere on unrelated topics
