      I get why it’s frustrating, and taking them down might seem straightforward, but there are many safety risks-like stray bullets, falling debris, potential harm to bystanders, fire hazards, property damage, and escalating conflicts-make it far more dangerous and complicated than it sounds.

      Yup. A bill was just proposed yesterday by Chuck Schumer and Gary Peters to allow law enforcement and government to conduct dragnets around "unsanctioned" drones. The bill was blocked by Rand Paul for clear unconstitutional overreach and surveillance by the government.
      Step 1: Create an event that scares the public
      Step 2: Introduce legislation that "protects" the public in exchange for rights and freedoms granted by the constitution.
      Step 3: Profit. Government is now able to have more surveillance over its own citizens.
      The timing is too convenient. This has happened throughout history by governments that want more control over their citizens. It is nothing new.

    It's impressive how uninformed the news (across the spectrum) can be. I'm an FAA certified drone pilot and #1 Faa approval for a job requires specific safety and location information so they will know that a drone or specific number of drones in a specific area is supposed to be there if they have to request authorization. Not to mention the requirements for remote ID which tells them the GPS location of both the drone and operator. #2 The US capitol is not in New Jersey so flight restrictions in New Jersey will have no effect on the white house. #3 any major event, including football games or inauguration, has a TFR or temporary flight restriction over the area of that event. They are also used when any politicians are flying into a state. There is going to be a TFR over the Whitehouse during inauguration and the FAA ABSOLUTELY has the ability to track which drones are commercially or governmentally supposed to be in a specific airspace. To be honest, half the politicians that have been pulled into these news stations have no understanding of how airspace works so it's not super surprising that news casters won't comprehend it either. It is good to see that the FAA (the only government body with regulation power over us airspace, is finally being brought into the conversation. Hopefully this is a step forward in figuring out what's going on and not a step forward in over surveillance and restrictions on rights.

    • @eduardopena5893
      @eduardopena5893 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, that is exactly what it has been. Lawmakers are already spewing out the typical fear rhetoric in order to enact new legislation to curb your rights and to place new restrictions on drones.

      While I agree with you that most of our elected representatives are clueless about drones or regulations -- you neglected to mention that most recreational drones are not following the regulations -- the same way that criminals don't care what gun laws or restrictions are in place. ("No guns allowed" -- yeah - those signs really work.) And while it's true the FAA can regulate the airspace, or shut it down as you mention, there's no magic forcefield to keep the airspace clear. Lastly -- the FAA likely (and it would seem obviously) isn't in charge when it comes to military operations. The top brass at the Pentagon isn't going to call and ask the FAA for permission if they want to do something they deem necessary.

    What about the drones that have been seen elsewhere. I'm in Norhtern Ireland, we witnessed one on Monday night at 20:21. 1 red light on the right wing at the front 1 white light on the left wing at the front. Solid white lights on the rear of the wings plus 1 flasing white light underneath and a red flashing light on the rear of left wing. At least 8 to 10 feet distance between the lights on the wings, low flying, wasn't loud but you could hear noise coming from it. Not picked up by flight radar but other planes at the time were. Have 2 video clips 1 coming towards us and the other going away from us. Not the best video footage but it's what we saw. Obviously something is going on I haven't heard any of our local newstations talking about this, probably be called nuts even talking about this.

      What's the problem joining 2 days ago, I joined to ask a question and see what other people thought. And yes I have seen plenty of drones before. What we watched the other night came from over the mountains and flew above us and headed out towards Newcastle direction. I had no idea a drone could fly that distance and where as big as what we saw, so my mistake obviously your well educated on this topic. As far as it being a plane that someone else commented, I watch planes every night from the house as we are over looking Belfast and Lisburn it was NOT a plane and it wasn't in the flight path for planes either. I was just telling people what we saw.

      We saw them in Washington(the State) 2 weeks ago.
      We knew right away they weren't planes, helicopters or stars.
      They are very distinct in their looks and the way they hover together..then move...then come together again.
      As one flew overhead, it had the red light on one "wing" and green on the other.
      But looking at them from afar, they appear like very bright golden balls of light.
      I saw a drone online that had those types of lights so I assume that is what they are flying. Don't know what they are doing. Hoping all will be okay.

    As an avid drone flyer, I really hope this isn’t just some individuals trying to scare people, as it could negatively impact the entire drone flying community. If it’s something more serious, the government’s delay in resolving the issue reflects a significant failure to the American people.

    • @vikingshark2634
      @vikingshark2634 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I commented something on another post a few days ago. This most recent update has me in a "called it" vibe because I posited that if (IF) it was some kind of government conspiracy, the goal was to turn people (more) against the recreational drone user and Sec 44809 pilots in order for the FAA to justify a flip in their stated aims and eventually require *all* drones (regardless of weight) to be registered and carry remote ID, and *all* pilots to be Part 107.
      It's almost as if the FAA, the media, or any domestic (US) manufacturers are taking any steps to combat the demonization of recreational pilots - and (especially) of DJI.

    • @DavidTateBuilds
      @DavidTateBuilds 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@vikingshark2634
      You might be onto something there. The way things are unfolding, it does seem plausible that there’s a larger agenda at play. Whether intentional or not, these delays and shifting narratives could easily feed into the idea of forcing more restrictive regulations on recreational flyers. It’s hard not to notice how often recreational pilots and even certain manufacturers, like DJI, are being painted in a negative light. Especially considering DJI is a Chinese company, which seems to make it an easy target for suspicion or criticism in the current geopolitical climate.
      If this leads to every drone needing remote ID and every pilot requiring Part 107 certification, it will fundamentally change the landscape for hobbyists. I really hope it’s not deliberate, but the lack of transparency and action from the FAA isn’t doing much to put those fears to rest.

      That's my concern as well because our government has a history of imposing restrictions on everyone for the actions of a few. Whether we're flying under Part 107 or as hobbyists, those of us who've jumped the hoops to register our drones, acquire our licenses, add an ident feature, and abide by the rules don't need to be taken down. I use a drone to check fence lines and get a head count in minutes, something that used to burn up half the morning. Drones have helped us discover wildlife in need of rescue and find a neighbor's senior horse who'd gotten stuck in a creek bed. While I enjoy some recreational time with a drone, they've also become a tool we'd rather not be without.

    • @DavidTateBuilds
      @DavidTateBuilds 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jimmyyounger618
      Exactly, it’s so frustrating that responsible pilots-whether Part 107 or hobbyists-keep getting caught up in regulations because of a few bad eggs. Like you said, drones are more than just a hobby for many of us-they’re tools that have become essential for everyday work.
      In agriculture, they’re used to monitor crops, check on livestock, and even plant seeds. In construction, they help with surveying land, inspecting structures, and tracking project progress. Emergency services rely on drones for search and rescue missions, disaster response, and even firefighting. And let’s not forget their use in real estate, environmental monitoring, and taking those aerial shots to help sell your home.
      For people like you who use drones to check fences, locate lost animals, or save time on daily tasks, these tools are irreplaceable. It’s unfair for sweeping regulations to make life harder for those of us who are using them responsibly to do real work and solve real problems. The government should focus on addressing actual risks, not penalizing the people who rely on drones to get their jobs done.

    Really? So why are these “drones” only flying at night? Why do they have anti collision lights on? 99% of drones should be registered with the FAA because the exceed the minimum weight allowance. So in your infinite wisdom of which I doubt you have much of, then why hasn’t the FAA or any government agency said who/what these drones are and who is flying them? Seems ridiculous that almost a month in and they have no clue? If these drones were no big deal then why are they not seen during the day? As a professional drone pilot and sometimes hobbyist, unless I was on an official paid assignment I wouldn’t be necessarily flying my drone at night but at the same time I know that if the FAA had a problem with it they would be able to track me down with the Remote ID that ALL drones MUST have to be in compliance. So, with the exception of Washington DC and all the restricted locations licensed pilots know to stay away from, don’t restrict law abiding pilots from flying drones. This is how it starts - advocate for the restriction of one freedom then more follow.

      @@editoralex1 You are all caught up in the hysteria and going down some rabbit hole. If the majority of them are military drones and developed by one of Musk's 13 Government contracts, they are located near or on military bases, they are most likely testing them new technology. You are on a need to know bases.

      @editoralex1 The military rarely let's the public know when they are testing new technology. They announce it when they are ready to. Earlier this year they announced that they have new planes that are faster than the old commercial Concorde airplanes. They are supersonic planes. They recently announced that they have supersonic missles that can intercept war heads and those with potential nukes on them. The Stelth Bomber was built and tested in Nevada. They flew them over our cities and others without notifying the public until they were ready too. Why would you want to let your advisories know what you are up too? Therefore, the public is on a need to know bases.

    So... seven days to flatten the curve? Legitimate drone pilots will never get those rights back. EVERY one of those drones are supposed to be remote-id compliant, essentially putting a digital license plate on each one. The feds FORCED that into place and drone pilots had to adapt to be in compliance (ie spend more money) -- How asinine would it be if people were told they weren't allowed to drive because there might be drug dealers or terrorists on the roads? So what happens next? The people will now look up and say "Oh, it's either law enforcement, search and rescue, fire safety, federal, NASA, some specifically-permitted commercial application, or a criminal" -- Great. What exactly has this solved?

    DRONES HOMELAND SECURITY & TRUTH??
    It’s time for the public be told the truth
    Why we see threats at night above.
    Before it’s too late and we awake
    To view all we have lost and love?
    September 11th. Taught us to stay aware
    Let there be no doubt, no doubt at all
    That at any time day or night
    Our adversaries can decide to give us a call.
    Sometimes we must go against the flow
    Questioning what our leaders may say.
    For they are not God, only human
    And for their credibility, we pray.
