Riley’s has been closed for awhile now, and Opie probably gets less than a grand a month in ad/sponsorship money. Who knows if his little beach house or his Manhattan apartment are paid off. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he’s struggling financially, but I can see him selling the beach house and switching to renting/Air BnB for the summers in the next few years.
He really wasn't bad back in the day. Before Sirius, he was a lot happier and was actually involved more in the show. Yeah he wasn't the funniest but he tried so much harder back then. He really just became bitter and just kept disconnecting more and more from the show as it went on. You can see when he got his own show after OnA and O n Jim he was happier and more involved...it wasn't great radio but it was at least somewhat listenable. He wasn't miserable and just being a big baby.
