As far as you are closer to base color you are safe. For ex. the base colour was black so we chose the theme instead of Blue yamaha or white colour as if i get caught still the RC card says black. Its kinda tricky but as far as you are close to base colour it should be fine.
If you are putting vinyl then make sure base colour is same cuz on RC it is black if I would have done some blue and yellow yaha colour then its illegal. And it depends on which cop you get 😁

What we did is use a heatlon or foam cutting to prevent eater seeping in. You can do the same
